There's definitely an intended way of playing the game at the start. And if you stray from that on ramp, the game gets real unplayably tough real fast.

I find the sure fire way to get started in this current build is to hire street hookers for as cheap as possible at the start and just spam out a bunch of scenes. (it takes about 5+ to get contracts to show up.)

Then save some money and start focusing on the GeoAnon contracts, which will require you to fly to other parts of the world and look for talent there. Luckily the talent you hunt for there are 'disposable' and only needed for one scene, so you can promise them the moon. (offer them promises of contracts, fame, free spa visits, etc)

Doing that route gets you pretty financially stable by month 2. With enough liquidity to invest in top tier camera/lights and upgrading your offices etc.
I found collecting money easier with hidden cameras

Also, the sanctions for "aggressive marketing" are insane. You can literally be out here minding your own damn business, never once having used your PA to mess with another company, but other companies will sanction the everliving shit out of you just for marketing your business and the player has no recourse? How am I supposed to get a foothold in the business if when I try, the companies that are already running shit stomp the fuck out of me when I try and move up? Why are you trying to make things so hard on the player? Why are you trying to balance everything against everything else? This isn't an MMO. Cam shows don't have to be balanced against, photo studios don't have to be balanced against strip club, etc. The way the game is setup it's like you're forcing people to play a certain way.

If I want to run a photo studio company. Let me.
If I want to run cam shows. Let me.
If I want to do porn. Let me.
If I want to be a strip club magnate. Let me.
If I want to run a night club. Let me.
If I want to dabble in a little bit of everything. Let me.

You give the player all these options but punish them for using them. Why? Just make sure the jobs work and let people do what they want. So what if cam shows, or whatever, make more than strip clubs, or whatever else. Can strip clubs be a viable means of making money? Yes? Cool, stop complaining about what makes what and enjoy the game. Play how you want. Run the business you want to run. Rinse and repeat for everything else.

Like, come on man, those sanctions are absurd! That's like Google bullying a local news website. Ain't shit I can do about that. I'm just supposed to stop marketing altogether? Like I really don't get why you're so intent on making things so difficult for the player.

Hidden cams require you to have high stats and a pool built in order to avoid the inevitable consequences. Which you won't have at game start unless you are using cheats. Which I try and avoid doing.

Ideally speaking, the game is intended to be played without cheats. Admittedly, I almost feel like atm the game is balanced around the assumption that the player is cheating.

The game, at it's current development stage, 1000% assumes that you're cheating. I'm cheating, heavily, and the game is still hard as fuck. It's mainly the sanctions, which I could probably stop if I cheat my rep, but that's literally the one thing I'm trying not to cheat. :LUL:

You know it's an uphill battle when you're cheating and still losing. :HideThePain:

Why am I still playing then? I'm rendering right now so finally have some free time to play games and I enjoy this one... even if it's beating my ass currently. Lol. :LUL: If a pornstar I want pops up off contract, I'm cheating that hoe to be loyal and throwing her in the strip club anyway. You gonna work for me whether you like it or not, bitch! :LUL:

Yeah I like this game a lot but it is way too hard.

You have to cheat.. and even then, I need to give myself hundreds of thousands of dollars every once in a while to make ends meet.

There's so much potential though, I enjoy watching the game evolve. There's so many cool things you could do.

When I'm out in the world looking fill a staff slot, I pay attention to 'novice, proficient, skilled, expert' but I still haven't figured out where the breakpoints are. Does anyone have a quick table?

first thanks for uploading new linux version

two things i remember- i make good money say about 2000 each video already by editing a file except on sundays what seems not to be intented, and the name and national tag is a bit misplaced, especially when i make interviews, i mean like do you like what you see and i miss the answer option well i cant see anything but your tags

i also am not happy with the balancing and am with carmen when i say please let me play it my way- the other option would be to tell the way its meant to be played or even make it linear storywise what is about same fun as cheating- i rather do without but then the game is over soon enough

So I've played this version, 9H all day (been rendering all day) and after trying my best (with cheating) I can honestly say that I hate this version. Mainly due to the sanctions. Them shits are crippling. One company shouldn't be able to sanction you multiple times at once, then, sanctions shouldn't last anywhere near as long as they do either. It's also odd that other companies, bigger companies, are allowed to sanction a smaller company based solely off advertising. It's even odder that some of the sanctions directly effect your staff. For example, one of the sanctions lowers staff happiness; daily. Soooo, I can be an excellent boss, pay great and provide an awesome workplace but you're gonna be lose happiness because some unrelated company tells you to be mad because I advertise too much? How's that work? What if the company in question is a trash company and has terrible practices, you're still going to be unhappy at the place paying you, that you were happy with everything else until that point, for another company that isn't paying you shit and is actively trying to tank my company A.K.A your job? Bitch get off my staff! :LUL:

Seriously though, sanctions are an issue but my biggest issue is there seems to be no legit real way to increase reputation outside of cheating.
1703835464228.png No, really, how do I not have at least 2 stars? Some of that shit is clearly weighted heavier than others and it's not descriptive at all as to how much you need to actually increase your rep. All in all, it's been a terrible fucking experience.

Gonna start a new game and immediately cheat my way to 5 rep. Should lend for a much better experience. Honestly, I feel like I read you say that we should do that anyway because the rep changes are a W.I.P and that shit is definitely fucked atm...

Keep at it tho!

it's linear scale. 20,40,60,80

if you know what you're doing you can break the game in like 2 months even on hard with camshows or photostudio. i dont want that.
strip club, night club, carwash are side gigs. they were never meant to be money makers and never will be. it's there to assign chicks to slow down retirement process, raise the depravity and so on.
theres a difficulty option in the main menu, lower it. it affects more than just the money. happiness, market share gains, rival sanctions, website subs and much more.
i'm making custom difficulty now so you can set up the game you want.
i do agree sanctions are hard (on hard), should be manageable on normal. if you get hit by aggressive marketing, lower it. if you have financial PAs it shows you the thresholds.

really consider lowering the difficulty in the main menu.
game got change drastically from v0.84 to v0.9. almost totally different approach.

dahsboard -> overview tab -> basic tab -> turn off rivals
it's there for a reason. i know it's not perfectly balanced thats way i've put it there so players dont lose their minds

looking at your reputation table, something aint right. it should be at least 2 if not more.
maybe it's the problem that public image doesnt show negative. so if you did shit like hidden vids and got caught a lot that will tank.
or completed work contracts with questionable models and stuff like that.

the lower you go, more weight these bars have.

Ah! I definitely was doing some hidden camera fuckery. Not much, but I did get caught and I may have beat up a boyfriend or two... That clearly tanked something because I always do good by the work contracts.

New game has been going smoothly though. I'm not sure what the most efficient way to play is, but maxing out my rep as the only cheat, well that and a bit of cash to start with, has been much closer to what I'd expect.

I don't know how cam shows can break the game since I wasn't using much off them, I only had two I think. But I can totally see how photo studios can break it. Well, if sanctions weren't destroying me first. Heh.

i know a guy that can finish the game within 2 months with 100 models and loads of money and everything in game. He says its too easy if you know what your doing. I cant even go a month without going broke. So there has to be a way of doing it. The bad thing is if you don't know that way its hard. I think the game forces you to play the way they want you to play and not how you want to play

There is a "method". Problem is, most people don't know what it is, then, even if they did, it pigeon holes you into playing a certain way. The beauty of this game, at least to me, is that you can build whatever kind of porn company you want. Meaning, you can play it however you want. But apparently some things aren't meant to be main sources of income so some things are more supplementary than others. I've discovered that giving myself 5 rep and 50k at the start set me up nicely. Technically I didn't need the 50k, the main thing is that the rep allows you to get contracts and keeps companies from sanctioning the shit out of you.

Sadly I had to delete the game :( I love it but it detects a virus from Windows smart screen & Virus total detects 1 virus positve (Trojan Heur). Does anyone know about this? please as I'm sort of paranoid about my security

I use Bitdefender.
Definitely a false positive. Gridinsoft is not a very good antivirus think of how bad Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials used to be back in the old days.
Even found a review of Gridinsoft
Same ! can I deleted it because of this but I still really want to play this game :(

art is temporary. i learned photoshop just for this. have no drawing talent otherwise.
i was working on this with an artist, but he never drew anything and i just keep expanding the game. so i had to do it myself.
it is shit, but better then nothing i guess.

i'm trying to improve art, but it takes a lot of time, so i'll probably just focus on the gameplay for now. When i feel there is enough to play i'll start redrawing everything. Or if enough patreon money, someone who know what they're doing will do it.

save games on windows are in %APPDATA%\Godot\ directory
i'll put some cheats in next version so you wont waste time on cheat engines
My reply is kind of irrelevant to this but the game says it includes virus (trojan heur). in Virustotal scan. False positive or? I really love your game but scared as not sure if it can be trusted? :(

I think there is nothing to be worry about, at least for the mega version of the download (and probably the others). Antivirus do not like this game and godot is general.
Pretty safe bet : the game is popular enough be have been dowloaded a lot since the last update, and no one is complaining here.

For those who have a hard time with the game, remember it's a very slow burn. I do not cheat and i thing i know what i am doing pretty well, but after 7 month in game i barely make 40k a month in profit with almost 0 upgrades in office etc. I do not see myself buy the strip club before like 18 months.

For those who struggling on this version, here's few tips I can give ya:
1) Don't go too fast with everything. Don't shoot with high-end models etc etc. Build your empire from the ground up and focus mostly on couple of things like webcam etc.
2)Don't open too many websites at once. My strategy, I only open website of certain genre when the genre is trending (eg: when "black hair" is trending, I open the site with same genre if I don't have etc)
3)Play a build a bitch simulator at the same time. Don't try to recruit top tier models as I said before. Better yet, find low level model with very high potential skill and build her slow and sign a contract. Same with webcam models. If you get good one, sign with her like 12 month contract and train her(1 week of work 1 week of training)

Remember, this patch is meant to be played with challenge with hostile rivals to slow you down, so play accordingly. Right now I don't have much time to play, but these tips helped me so far to avoid penalties. And I'm playing on normal

How do I open a company on this version, do I have to upgrade my office first cos I already did everything and my reputation is on level 1 but I still can't use the open company option
