You can more or less chose the order in which the scenes are presented, but you have to get them all in order to progress the story.
Of course, you'll need to install the patch, otherwise you can't even do that and a lot of content will be missing.

There's no choices unless you have NTR turned on. If you don't have any map movement either, you didn't install the patch in the OP.
And if you look to your right you will see Rebecca's single obligatory scene per chapter since her devut, thank you, move along.

It's been marked as mandatory for years now, it was only removed as of recent. There are 100's of comments in the thread saying you must use the patch or you will get errors.

And people don't use the patch sometimes as they DO NOT want that content, almost every game on site is playable without a patch, this is the exception, the patch is mandatory for the game to even work.
One of the most consistent games from the time I've started playing. Quality content each release. Yes they take time, but it's worth the wait.
