WWG floats at around 5k a month. He lives in the US. even if he pays the guy minimum wage, his "employee" will eat most of, if not all of WWG's earning. So you obviously don't know what you're talking about. How you think it will only take 1% of WWGs earning is crazy. I noticed you used "employees" with an S. You think WWG can pay for one, let alone multiple employees lol.
Where are you getting this math from lol? If he paid an employee minimum wage (7.25/hour) full time (40/hrs a week) which is obviously way more than a helper/blogger would require that is 1,200-1,400 a month. Hiring a part time helper would easily be within price range unless he lives in NYC.

You're right, a helper wouldn't be that expensive, but it might not be economical depending on WWG's total cost of living. However, I think the original suggestion's point is moot, because why would a one-man dev team hire someone just for PR? In addition to paying them, WWG would have to spend time sharing information with them, when he could've just communicated directly to supporters for free.

If WWG cared about that, he would have hired someone for this long ago. Not to mention a project of this size is on such a small scale, even for one person, there'd be no need to hire anyone for something like that when he can just do it himself. If time management was a concern of theirs, this wouldn't be something that'd even need to be brought up. Just come to terms that you absolutely should not expect Senior-level Developer time management or quality from Ren'Py porn Developers who 9 times out of 10 wouldn't even equate to an Entry-Level Developer in AAA studios I've been at lol. If unhappy with the product or their task tree speed (which yes is subpar), supporters can just unsubscribe, and pirates can just not play it on here. Both would directly and indirectly affect their bottom-line. But many subscribers/monthly pledgers no matter the system tend to fall in their own trap of forgetting they even subscribed the few dollars per month and never get around to unsubscribing anyway. Which is how you get such long update cycles or just abandonment altogether, so I don't place ALL of the blame on the Porn Devs lol, it lies on both parties.

Yeah but like, if patrons forget how much they're spending, what if they hired someone to manage their subscriptions for them? :KEK:

Joking aside, that's not altogether a bad idea... No doubt it would have a bigger impact than people whining about things.
Vote with their wallets, so to speak.

Patreon takes 8% off the top. Taxes take another 35%.
That drops what he makes down to 3000 a month.
He's lucky if he's only paying 2000 for rent.
Leaving 1000 for food and bills.

The guy can't afford to pay the neighbors kid to mow his grass, let alone throw money away on a blogger.

That's not how taxes work. WWG wouldn't even hit the 35% bracket in the US. Say WWG averages 5k a month for a year for a total of 60k.

In the USA federal tax works as follows.

The first $11,600 of that would be taxed at 10%

The next $11,601 to $47,150 would be taxed at 12%

The next $47,151 to $100,525 taxed at 22%

California which has high state income tax

$0 to $10,756. 1%

$10,757 to $25,499. 2%

$25,500 to $40,245. 4%

$40,246 to $55,866. 6%

$55,867 to $70,606. 8%

I don't understand how people here seem to think someone making at least $50k+ a year with no travel expenses is just scraping by and breaking even with no savings. Yes it's been so long since we've had an update that we're now discussing taxes.

Has the game been abandoned? It's been over 1 year and there have been no more updates.

Did the developer give up or is he still working on the project?

Man, been patiently waiting, but over a year, and barely any word up to and after that point. And this was such a fun game too (minus the NTR bits that I skip in game, but people post here in the thread anyway).

$2000 for rent lol. Yeah again maybe if he lives in NYC. The median rent/mortgage in the US if $1,400, if he’s in a more rural state and not a big city that drops to around $950-$1,000. If he’s been living in the same place since before 2020, his rent/mortgage could be way less than that.

Anecdotal I know, but I bought in 2017 before the boom and my mortgage on a two story 5 bedroom house built in 95 is only $700. Housing market wasn’t always as fucked as it is now.
