Finally?Finally, abandoned tag arrived
It's a tag, tags usually represent fetishes, some sexually malleable people get confused and develop a kink for the Abandoned tag. This probably is better than those desperate souls roaming back alleys and spraying abandoned houses with semen, so just bear with it.Finally?
This the highlight of your day or something![]()

Non-Abandoned route will come in the next updateIs the Abandoned avoidable?![]()
There's an 'on-hold' tag but I don't know what causes a game to get it instead of the abandoned tag.The word abandoned doesn't mean anything if a dev who gives status updates monthly, WHO WE ALL KNOW IS GOING TO FINISH THE GAME is getting the abandoned tag.
For a second I thought there might be a new post where he says he was going to give up for a year and take a break and he might not come back. THAT would be abandoned.
This is just people getting frustrated with dev times. But if you know the game is still actively being worked on, then it's not abandoned.
There should be a separate tag for "delayed" or "hiatus" that reflects slow uploads. but "abandoned" refers to games that are fucking dead. Like "a failure to launch" or "cherish these times". Those games are abandoned. This is just "delayed".
While I generally agree with you, I don't think adding another tag would do any good. It'd just come down to more technicalities, would be subject to interpretation by the applying mod and generally would demand more effort from staff to look into certain games' specific conditions and history, which would be simply unfeasible. Nothing is perfect, I personally just take the Abandoned tag as a warning to take a closer look at the game's situation myself and then make my own judgement on if it's worth following or not.The word abandoned doesn't mean anything if a dev who gives status updates monthly, WHO WE ALL KNOW IS GOING TO FINISH THE GAME is getting the abandoned tag.

AFAIK a game gets that tag when a dev officially states that they're taking a break from the game for whatever reason and will return to it later. IIRC if there is no new development after 6 months, the tag changes to Abandoned then. There's an 'on-hold' tag but I don't know what causes a game to get it instead of the abandoned tag.
Per this site's Game Uploading Rules:While I generally agree with you, I don't think adding another tag would do any good. Best don't quote me on this, I might be wrong about the 6 months part. Tried to quickly look it up, but weirdly I can't seem to find the respective Rules section.
Also not sure if this whole thing is considered off-topic or whatever by a mod again.![]()
Its definitely due to the rules of the site and not actually abandoned. but i wouldn't bother arguing with them, some people just enjoy complaining or like you said drama queens. the ones that confuse the hell out of me are the ones that are almost celebrating the tag, why celebrate that whether it is abandoned for real or not. There's a June 1st update on the Patreon page, so... I suspect this is tagged as abandoned due to being over a year and no updates, but... definitely not abandoned.
Does ANYONE ELSE even bother to check the Patreon page before becoming such drama queens?!
This was a STRANGE game with some really weird ideas and even stranger facial expressions, but I don't think I ever laughed as much as I did while playing this game, and that is something I have needed. I hope someone keeps tabs on when a new release comes out.
Both, it's a classic procrastination move. He's clearly lost the plot or the motivation if not both.Making them, or when he decided to stop making them?
After 18 months a game gets the abandoned tag if the game hasn't been updated in that time (rightfully so). It doesn't matter how much the dev is blabbing on Patreon or Discord or what ever other platform the dev is on because word's don't matter only actions. The word abandoned doesn't mean anything if a dev who gives status updates monthly, WHO WE ALL KNOW IS GOING TO FINISH THE GAME is getting the abandoned tag.

yep... prty much this, if devs don't want the abandoned tag to hit there games all they had to do is perform the herculean effort of managing to put out an update in 18 month period, that's it.... i like that this site has the update req and not the talking on social media as a req for not optaining the abandoned tag, i would put it this way, i am sure that EVERYONE would be happy to remove the abandoned tag on games when they recive game updates, the ball is not on this site nor on us on the forums whether or not a game gets the abandoned tag, it begins and ends with the dev of a game, nothing more, nothing less. After 18 months a game gets the abandoned tag if the game hasn't been updated in that time (rightfully so).
