I could see that being a thing. Author creates an amazing compelling story with cliffhangers and a patreon post saying "I'm just going to step outside for a smoke and be right back." 18 months later, synchronized sploosh as the tags roll in.
It's probably in the area of people that like getting their fingers stepped on or kicked in the pills. They could even delay it by posting slight updates and messages so you don't know when the 'kick' is coming. This has to be a thing somewhere.

Wow! I support a lot of creators but never at the highest tier. I didn't think anyone really did that. *applause* Thanks for supporting the game.I'm subscribed at the highest tier. If enough of us were to downgrade, I think WWG would feel it. I'm not ready to unsubscribe entirely, because I want to keep access to his Discord.
I do think there's too much content shown for the next chapter for them to just drop all that work. I'd be more concerned if the monthly earnings were lower and it's likely the person has to literally abandon the career path.
I honestly think a bigger 'scam' would be dragging the story out in bland nonsense like many shows do when they get well past the creative vision and are just putting out slop to print money. Abandoning a golden goose doesn't make a lot of sense as a scam. So, I'm more inclined to believe the health issues and delays are valid than that they're stringing people along and just not doing anything for some reason. That almost seems harder than just finishing, lol.
Of course, I also don't really care as much as many people seem to as I got most of what I wanted from the story and can easily enjoy re-viewing what's here along with the other classics. The rest at this point is a bonus as I'm not particularly on edge about whatever happens from here.

I think those criticizing the creator are just people who see the "abandoned" tag and feel compelled to write a post to join the supporters' anger just for the sake of it, without knowing the backstory. Having reached the final chapter and with all the material created so far, no one with half a brain would abandon it all... what's the point? I could wait another year if necessary, especially if WWG is struggling with an illness. I wish him all the best in the world and hope everything goes well in his life.
