this game is totally not what i thought it would be. i relunctantly tried it even though i thought it was an NTR game. which it says it is..but..it's fucking hilarious. the dialogue between the family members is funny as fuck. and love how Sterling blocks dirty old gramps from trying naughty shit with his mom and sisters. only downside of course is sandbox. i fucking hate sandbox. but so far it has been easy to follow. just too fucking repetitive.
Yup, don’t get me wrong this project will always be handled with care to nuance till the very end, that’s what makes it special.
But it’s getting worse, the effort and care is now shifting towards the *** and it’s not subtle, supporters are willing to pay high amounts to see this specifically and it’s only growing. And as we can see when they hold their money over it the dev will bend and he’s not to blame.
So be critical and thoughtful, this one looks like a slippery slope despite the high standard that has been set.

Just because there's NTR content, does not make it an NTR game. Thankfully.

I must admit I tried out a couple of the What If stories.
Only one was NTR (Ophelia futa NTR), but it was worth it. Went as far as cucking not only her son, but the MCs of some other games too!

the dialogue between the family members is funny as fuck. and love how Sterling blocks dirty old gramps from trying naughty shit with his mom and sisters. only downside of course is sandbox. i fucking hate sandbox. but so far it has been easy to follow. just too fucking repetitive.
Honestly, I don't really mind the repetitiveness of it. Primarily down to the things you listed above.
The well written comedy really alleviates the grinding aspect.

I can think of a couple other games that really need something beyond the pornographic content to help with their grinds/repetitiveness.

man Ophelia is a smoking hottie. played the what if date with Erik story and god damn what an amazingly hot night of fucking that had going on. but how does Sterling get so buff in that game. he is a skinny little wimp in the regular game. kid hit the gym hard it would seem. but..why does Erik run away like a bitch when Sterling comes into the room. guess he is a giant pussy at heart. and damn he left Ophelia a cum drenched mess after he was done with her..

You looked in the "Genre" box. Those aren't the tags.
Tags are at the top of the page (you click them and they show others with those tags), and there's waaaaaaay more than what you listed from the Genre box.
Right, my bad, just used to how games are usually categorized on the genre tag.

In regards to the fan made what if. In the original version Sumatra made he was going to have it occur later in the story when Sterling had already become bigger. It was pointed out that the event that the what if was representing took place earlier in the game but at that point the rendering had already been done and instead of redoing everything with Sterling in he chose to put the disclaimer in that Sterling had already gotten in shape at that point. Since it's a non canon story anyway it shouldn't really matter but yes it is known that it should have been smaller Sterling instead.

Hunter has been feeding Sterling (and all family members) growth hormones the entire time he's been there.
The hormones are also what's causing Ophelia's lactation.

Hunter is aware that he's 'helping' Sterling (combined with Catherine's workouts) but he doesn't care.
His main concern is prepping the women for his 'inevitable' conquest.
Hunter has the game and confidence from decades of seducing and impregnating (probably) thousands of women.
He's not worried about one skinny kid who suddenly got buff, because he thinks Sterling lacks the 'killer' instinct.

Erik ran away because he did what he came to do. When Ophelia starts babbling about getting pregnant, he already had one foot out the door.
He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who sticks around to be a daddy. He's probably got 4 more women lined up for what Ophelia got.

Game is good but NTR shouldn't be avoidable
It should, that's what drives the story. It's like saying "Star Wars was good, but Luke shouldn't have been a Jedi".
And as we can see when they hold their money over it the dev will bend and he’s not to blame.
Except the whole premise is to outsmart Hunter. With the current setup you have the both of best worlds as a dev, you cater to the NTR crowd and the vanilla crowd. Why on earth would he stop catering to one of them? It's the dumbest thing to do.

the game specifically says it isn't "The main game contains avoidable, non-canonical NTR content", I don't know how people can read it differently.

it is a fun novel, and I hope you will continue to enjoy it.
Yeah but if you play the game it still has themes of competition and a looming spectre of potential betrayal like with Lucia in the cabin. So the MC isn't literally cucked in any canonical content, but it might still rub people the wrong way who don't like NTR because they don't want those themes in the game period.

I mean personally, while some people were mad at Femdom Ophelia, I was actually mad prior to that with the way Ophelia basically makes the MC walk on eggshells but then gets Catherine to help her with lactation when we all know how bad Catherine is with boundaries.

I actually appreciate in chapter 10 when Ophelia realizes that after being pounced on by Brenna, that maybe she could have been more lenient with MC. Of course what he did to her was bad. But it was just annoying seeing her basically make him walk on eggshells in a way others didn't have to.

Personally, it feels like the same kind of betrayal as NTR to have a woman make you jump through hoops and gaslight you into thinking you're a creep wanting to do a given sex act that she then begs another guy to do. Hence why in many NTR stories, to twist the knife they don't just have the woman say she loves the rival, they also have her say she's doing a thing with him that she'd never let her husband do (anal is the typical example but not always).

And I'm not even against an NTR game. I'm fine with it as long as I can see myself as the bull not the cuck.

So when you say "I don't know how people can read it differently." People are worried, that the game will be written in a way that the canon segments will still be tainted by the themes of betrayal and competition that make the NTR in the non-canon even an option.

And before you assume I'm some hater, I've been supporting the dev on patreon for several months by now, even while he has postponed the update.

I can empathize with players who want to avoid even the slightest hint of NTR, although that should be easy for them to do so based on the tag. It's more challenging for the players who can tolerate a little NTR, because just seeing the tag doesn't tell them whether the content is at a level they're comfortable with.

The pattern of argument and reconciliation in this game is crucial in driving the plot. We're meant to be frustrated by the unfair treatment, so that the eventual validation (and make-up sex) is all the sweeter. If the women offered no resistance they'd seem like one-dimensional characters and the story would be a lot less interesting.

Very well put.

> The pattern of argument and reconciliation in this game is crucial in driving the plot.

Naturally. But not all argument makes for a good story. And execution matters.

Which is why I'm very happy with the chapter 10 part where Ophelia actually has a moment where she apologizes for that part she got wrong. That way the make up sex isn't just a way to get out of accountability, it's a cherry on top. Same way that when Lucia threatened the MC in the cabin, the MC didn't let that slide.

Lesser writers would have not handled it as well as WWG. So I'm actually excited to see what he has in store. It's not often I trust a writer to have satisfying resolutions but so far WWG is doing a great job. Not every decision he makes is perfect for me but he hits some home runs that are stellar.

I think i can explains that. Ophelia is more cautious with MC she fears that with him one thing lead to other and more. And she fears that Sterling do these things on purpose to made it lead to other on purpose.
Catherine may be bad with boundaries but she is a child at heart (no matter how creepy that sounds) and Ophelia was not afraid things to get complicated. Well, untill Catherine start to play lesbian and then Brenna starts to make her moves. And now she is confused.
