Do you know what milking means? You don't, so i'll just give you a quick explanation and i won't even charge you. Milking is sitting on your ass, not doing anything and letting the money still come in. That's not what this dev is doing. He's actively developing the game. It's taking a long time yes, but he's not just sitting around doing nothing.

inb4 the haters come in and respond with nothing useful and say i'm just being a keyboard warrior instead of arguing some counterpoints.
What is a keyboard warrior even lol

Fellas let's stop arguing, it accomplishes nothing. Chapter 13 will be out when it's out, ok?
No, it's important to keep this up, otherwise a new player might play, think its common for the dev to take 1 year and a half to update the game and become a supporter. When a dev is milking (which can be considered stealing, since you're lying about doing a product in exchange for this money, while you dont make this product) we need to let it clear so newcomers avoid falling into this stealing scheme.

Can you prove the dev is "actely developing the game" after 1 year and a half without a single update?

Because if you don't have solid evidance aside from deve saying "I'm working on it" you're just being dumb. Anyone milking will say: "I'm working on the game" while "sitting on his ass, not doing anything and letting the money still come in".

I don't know if you already grasped the meaning of the word "lie", but it's normally when a person say something untrue. And while no action is done to prove he's working on the game (like releasing the update) or no solid proof is given of this supposed "work", he can be just lying and you're making a fool of yourself just because you like his product.

Would you consider the HUNDREDS of preview images to be proof that the dev is working on the update?

And what would a dev who isn't milking say? Same thing right? Lol all proof is found on his patreon with teasers, animations and status updates. All of them have been posted here. Why would the dev jeopardize his entire livelihood all while continuing to work on the game? We get it you guys like the game. But man hold yourselves together lol throwing little fits every week online because the game isn't released when YOU want it to be is so immature. To any new players out there, this is easily one of the best 3dcg games this site has to offer. So give it a try and afterwards you can decide for yourself if it'll be worth supporting the developer or not :)

Did WWG say anything about getting surgery on discord prior to the Patreon post?
Only ever in the latest status update where he said "My energy levels have been low since I had the main surgery but it's improving."

Although I don't think it(maybe I'm coping) I personally don't see anything wrong with someone thinking WWG is milking. We were at 93% over 5 months ago. I don't see how it's unreasonable to think WWG is milking or has been shady around communication when he's only shared this info after the fact and we only have his word. Even believing him knowing that he knew the work rate would be slowed so much and him sitting on it till the last minute is pretty fucked.

No, he didn't. I was surprised by the way he mentioned it on Patreon ("...since I had the main surgery...") as if we were aware. On one hand he rarely reveals personal information, but on the other these escalating reasons for delays are not a good look.

What's weird is that I don't think he's milking either, I feel like that's just too much of a departure from what I've expected/seen from him him, but by that same token I think anyone familiar with his modus operandi agrees he's moving hella shifty, regardless of our opinions on why.

The way I see it we have two main possibilities and a third fairly unlikely one;
1. He wrote himself into a corner. Whether it's because he got ambitious and included scenes/animations he only had partial ideas to write for/fit into the story or he got very near completion and realized there were big enough plot-holes to make him dislike it enough to stall for months(In 1-2 month variables where he could end it sooner or later if he thought of a solution). He might be so attached to the game he's just overthinking/rabbit-holing ATP and he definitely wouldn't be the first Dev to do so(Though he is the first major dev I've seen have this much of a stall in a few years).

2. He's nearing either a personal milestone or issue, needs the money from this to stay steady until then and thinks saying too much will make people back out(It would, most likely). He thought he'd hit his goal/etc by April, realized he wouldn't sometime in March and started panic-spiraling and not knowing what to do about it so chose the option that would piss people off but not turn too many entirely while also giving him the option to end the delay while having to explain as little as possible(Out of anxiety, shame, stubbornness, whatever). I don't consider this milking because if it's big enough of a personal issue to warrant doing this it's super easy to make the argument it'd effect his life enough for it to hamper/cripple the game itself.

3. He's never completely believed it'd be out when he hinted it would be and is doing the most to stall as long as can before reaching a point of no return such as being marked as abandoned here which coincidentally lines up with the and of his second delay. I really heavily doubt this possibility not only for my own sanity's sake but because A) it doesn't line up with what he's done/said in the past whatsoever. And B) There are many ways he could've done so much more effectively.

In any case he very clearly knows what he's doing is shitty and he's doing it anyway so I have to hope/believe it's for a good reason. I would say I get where he's coming from but I don't because he hasn't told us. He's too far gone into whatever is happening to back out or back down so we'll all just have to tune in next month(Fingers crossed) to find out(Or not. Probably not) if he makes it

As I have already said there's a higher possibility that he wasn't adding anything new way before (a month approx from April) he posted those teaser animations in may.

I think those animations were just cuts from the previous works that he already worked on so he kinda through snippets of all those animations that he had already made and uploaded it for patrons so that they think he is working on the game, that explains why he didn't posted anything this time to show that he's working on the game because he isn't and he have already spoiled enough of his already finished works so he couldn't even post his old works.

Yes, you are completely correct. Those animations were cuts from stuff he already worked on. In fact, if you check previous teasers, you'd be able to link specific animations to those various teasers. That's because he made those animations at the same time he made those renders, because it would be stupid not to. The reason why he's not posting renders (or animations) anymore is because they're all done. Every single one. Even the ones he can't show because that's spoiler territory. Oh, he's done, you say? No, because there's more to a game than just rendering images. Now, he needs to write all the dialogue. And that's a bit harder to tease, because it's words. A lot of words. And nobody wants to see screenshots of a text editor. And chances are, there will be spoilers in it.

So to say that the proof is the fact he won't post teasers anymore is just stupid.
