People are really quick to jump on the "Cash Grab" bandwagon with Patreon games. There's PLENTY of patreon porn games that are glorified animation viewers, but this game has actual story content, a fleshed out party roster, and a decent amount of sidequests too. It's further along in development than nearly every other crowdfunded game I've seen pass through this site so I really don't get that criticism. If the UI needs work, then say the UI needs work. But ONE thing being wrong doesn't equate to the whole game being a cash grab.

I used to play the game a couple years back.

I'll be honest, and blunt.
The game is fucking good, no doubt about it. A fleshed out story, satisfying graphics both in and out of battle, and effort that is easy to see.
There is a lot of hate or harsh criticism, some of which is entirely fair, all things considered.

The game is taking forever to finish, and sure, maybe that's the price for an engaging and immersive story, that's fair.
But acting like it's not fair to state that, after so many years, there should be some kind of end, at least soon? Isn't warrented.

The UI, needs some focus. It's been stated for years, yet it's an issue that is not being fixed. So it's entirely fair, that people feel a little ignored. If you can't immerse people into the world, it's hard for them to even want to play in it.

Saying it's a cash grab though, is not entirely fair. These people need to support themselves and probably some family as well. Of course they need a lot of money, they need split it. So how much do you think each person earns? It's fair for them to want financial stability.

As a player, I'd want more focus on the story. I mean, the main story is why I'd play the game, after all...

But that's just my take, as a former player.

So we've waited a few months for a freaking Hiho scene remake?..(speaking in particular about the 37.2 version) Now this is why people are complaining, if devs would stop focusing on already implemented things that have no gameplay value or to the story, why are we focusing on remaking a very early scene when we could focus on the story or fixing the UI?... If anything, i dont mind seeing "worse" earlier scenes as these type of things improve over time and are translated in better written, more quality future scenes. I honestly dont know how devs make these decisions collectively, like, you see a HECK of a lot of players complaining about the UI, systems, the story not progressing, which are things you lot should focus on. Instead you make the players wait a few months for a remake, two new sprites and...that's all?... This is why people call you a cash grab game. Shame, I really like the premise of the game, I like the plot, characters feel alive and each have their own personas, but this is going nowhere..

And as a player, I wanted focus to be on the companions. That's why I appreciate the rework to Hiho's earlier scene, because it reflects the current state of her character much better than before.

As far as the dev time? A game like this is gonna take a lot longer than the porn games most people are used to. Most of those RPGMaker hentai games are like 6-8 hours of content. This game is trying to be like a real CRPG, just with adult scenes. So easily anywhere from 40-60 hours of content. Maybe more. With a lot more variables to consider than those games. It's an ambitious project, which is why I've been supporting it all these years. It's the kind of "mature" adult game I wanted to see on Steam. Kinda like what Subverse originally promised, before it became a lackluster parody of the idea.

No one's stating it's unfair to voice criticism. If you don't like the UI, talk about what you don't like about it. Give proper feedback. But the shit that pisses me off are the doom and gloom run-on sentence paragraph posts that are like "oh what a shame. the games not going how i wanted so i guess it's a cash grab that'll never get done. why arent they focused on the things i specifically care about if only they listened to the players (by which I mean me) then itd be finished by now but I guess it was all just a scam after all.:cry::cry:"

thats my impression. People say the game its good, the art is good the story is good, but none of that matters if you can't play the game. The fist impression I get of playing this game isnt good. You need to focus on the UI. And Ive seen many games that the first thing that comes to mind is cashgrab. I would like to be wrong, but I cant force myself to play through the non existent gameplay feedback.

Yeah to be blunt and honest, as a new studio finding its feet, we chose a huge project which was kind of silly/dumb on our end, but we have learned a lot and somehow the team stuck together and just kept plugging until we went from a stumble to a brisk jog. I will say that the invasion definitely set us back pretty heavily, but there have been lulls of development outside of that, too, which we accept.

UI is definitely something we aren't experts on, maybe we need to hire or outsource someone for it. That's another big expense, and one we would need to be CERTAIN of the result for.

The companions are our number one requested feature from the community, more content, polishing the old content, side content etc. Hiho's scene rework moves the pacing around to fall in line and be better tied into her main quest and character arc. One of the complaints we had, funnily enough, was that her sex scene happened too soon. So yeah as we are focusing on her we moved that around.

There have been content drops at a steady monthly pace so I am not sure why you said waited a few months? On our Patreon nd from our subscribers we don't see many complaints of the UI, and just more demands of content. So most of our focus is around what our paying members are raising concerns with and asking for.

Again, going nowhere? We've steadily added hours and hours of content sometimes every single month we add another 2-3 hour long piece of content? I'm sorry, but I am going to dig in moy heels and say no, we are delivering. There are issues, the MSQ needs to progress IMO, but we are delivering tons of content and especially fleshing out our companion characters, who are the number one demands outside of more Iski content.

Hiho still not have scene? She so cwute
HIho has 2(3) main animated scenes now, and 5 or so animated sprite scenes variants.

I think the main issue here isn’t whether you’re digging in your heels but whether the direction actually lines up with what players are asking for. You’ve said content is dropping monthly, but looking at the timeline: Build 35 was released in mid-December, Build 36 in early May, and Build 37 in August — that’s 3 to 5 months between updates, not a steady “every month” release.

And when the update(specifically B37) finally lands, it's a a reworked scene and a few new sprites, while the bigger problems — like the UI — remain untouched. Every time I check this forum I see people raising the same UI complaints, with some even saying parts of the game feel unplayable. That’s not nitpicking; it’s a real issue that directly impacts the experience more than another companion scene or sprite swap. I honestly don't know how your patreons are more bothered by an old scene more than the ability to actually be able to play the game, But I think you should lend an ear to other areas of vocalizing feedback, even if it's from a pirating forum, most of us here could become paying consumers If we see the game going in a good direction, hence why I'm trying to be understandable, while also feeling stomped on the tail by devs not acknowledging that If a bunch of retards on a forum complain about specific issues, all at once from their game, then there might actually be something fucking wrong there...

I get that companion content is popular, but ignoring the core problems while insisting you’re “delivering tons of content” comes across as dismissive of the player feedback you’re getting. If progress on the MSQ or actual gameplay improvements keeps being pushed aside in favor of cosmetic reworks, it’s hard to see that as real delivery.
With all due respect, I'm not trying to underline your work, and disrespect what you guys built over the past few years, because as sure as hell I wouldn't be able to do what you guys are doing, hence why I'm a player since the early days.
And I would very much like to see where the plot wants to go instead of checking the change log every few months(not every month like you said :) ) and see that the only change that was made was... a rework of an older scene...I'm also working on a game, I might not have your guy's experience with developing, but I would very much like to finish the game, tell a story, show something I see, before starting to remake older scenes.

Valaska this is not a criticism, since the game is great, but a suggestion for next projects: make them smaller. There are so many halfway done or abandoned games that I've lost track of. I bet I'm not the only one that's burnt out of games that feel like that never have a propper ending. Smaller, self contained stories can also deliver highly engaging content and for sure can be memorable experiences.
