Well, the AI so far has been more an a nuisance more that anything... I´m not exactly happy to know that it is going to have a bigger role.
If the AI were going to be something like the funny and crazy friend and sidekick of "Acting Lessons" or "Being a Dik", for example, marveling at how primitive people are and making funny/ironic remarks from time to time, or even acting like narrator, it´s OK. I´m sure it could work, if there isn't an overdose of it. If the AI is going to be the 50% of the MC, telling him what to do every step, scolding him, giving him some kind of "superpowers" of seduction, or something... I don´t know, sincerely.
If you are adding the AI to the MC´s mind, you are actually changing the MC to something different, a hybrid being half human, half AI. The MC is not going to be the charming, brave and caring character so far, but another thing with the (annoying so far) AI always looking over his shoulder and conditioning one way or another his thinking and behavior... I don't think the idea works actually fine in "Cyberpunk 2077", even with the AI having a well defined and charismatic personality and Keanu Reeves as image, and being the MC ("V") a blank page without even defined sex.
You have created a charismatic main character that players can bond and relate with, and I don't think it´s a good idea to change it during the game to create another different thing. I think something external the the MC, like an anthropomorphic robot bonded to him and only him for some reason in the plot (like a mix between "Data" of Star Trek and the genius of the magic lamp) could have be a more safe idea. It could have allow the MC to continue being the MC, but with some external "magical" (in that world) help in his adventures. Having its own body, the AI could have developed more easily its "personality" and argumental arc having its own scenes and interactions with other characters, again without changing the MC's personality. Also, would have be an equally useful "tool" for you the writer, to make the plot advance when needed.
You are the writer and you have done a mighty fine work so far, so I have to give your the benefit of the doubt. I´m just expressing my concerns and opinions.
It´s a great thing to have you interacting here and talking with us, by the way.
