I'mma just sneak in here and say that I'm enjoying the game so far Towerfag, keep up the good work and hopefully you and Gats will be able to resolve this peaceably and with no hard feelings on either side.
Now wait a minute, last time I checked the lust stat is actually tied to agility as well. That's one of the major things ModAnon was bitching about when he was going through his decrypted files was how poorly tied-together a lot of the stolen scripts were to game mechanics. It's 100% of the purpose of the Lust stat .
ModAnon needs to check better then, Lust isn't tied to agility or anything else, only Power gives stats bonuses. Now wait a minute, last time I checked the lust stat is actually tied to agility as well. That's one of the major things ModAnon was bitching about
You crazy? You're not supposed to enjoy things. (Thank you man, we try!)I'mma just sneak in here and say that I'm enjoying the game so far Towerfag
:biggrin:You crazy? You're not supposed to enjoy things. (Thank you man, we try!)
The problem is that just ignoring the game didn't work. Other teams went off to make their own game, without any money involved I might add, and Towerfag stuck his nose in. While there is a lot of bullshit being spat on both sides it isn't (or wasn't) as clean as simply ignoring the development of this game, especially with the whole Towergirls universe license currently being contested. (In case you didn't know, Towergirls the universe was created by the artist Gats, who left the project over a disagreement with Towerfag. Which is why lawyers are getting involved to determine who owns what, and what agreements hold water between the two.)In the end, this game is simply that: a game. A game isn't meant to be fought over, it's meant to be played. If you don't like the game, or the direction that the games development is going, then don't play and follow the game anymore. Simple as that. I've been watching tons of wip-pixel-sex games that have gone down the drain, to the point that I can't even remember what they were called. Some went into a direction that I didn't like (personal preference here), others didn't make enough money and had to quit to keep themselves afloat money-wise, and some have been killed by a lawsuit/legal action.
Honestly, when I saw that Towerfag was having legal troubles, I freaked out in my head. I was genuinely scared that a game I have been following for months, and have enjoyed each and every update, could possibly be shutdown. (This assumption came from previous experience, btw.)
So here's my two-cents: Stop. Fighting. Period.
Towerfag has a lot going on for him, that it's gotta be taxing to his time, work, and possibly health. Being hit by legal action after 2+ years of work can be detrimental, and certainly is one of the worst things that can happen to a developer, no matter how crappy they are. (NOT talking about you Towerfag, keep up the good work! *thumbs-up*)
I love this game, and find it quite enjoyable. I really don't want to see it be destroyed be legal action and selfish-anons that could just look elsewhere for their fetishes.
How did it not work? Seems to work just fine as far as I can tell. The problem is that just ignoring the game didn't work.
To be fair, they were making their own game by ripping content from this one. To me that seems like a pretty good reason for Towerfag to "stick his nose in". I don't think trying to DMCA the whole thing was the best response and the moment lawyers got involved he probably should've stayed out of the hgg threads completely.Other teams went off to make their own game, without any money involved I might add, and Towerfag stuck his nose in.
We're well aware of that.In case you didn't know, Towergirls the universe was created by the artist Gats, who left the project over a disagreement with Towerfag.
It didn't work because Towerfag stuck his nose in as you said, and decided to overreach his position. I'm fine with the content in this game. I'm annoyed at Towerfag for a variety of reasons, even before this fiasco, but the game itself is fine. How did it not work? Seems to work just fine as far as I can tell.
If you're not a fan of certain design choices (NTR) I can understand that. Personally I really don't like the combat system, but that doesn't mean that it isn't working.
Sure, I don't blame him for that. I would definitely want to know more if someone else was using my content. However as you said he went about it in an incredibly asinine way, and it bit him hard. No need to reiterate all that nonsense though. To be fair, they were making their own game by ripping content from this one. That said, once you start a dedicated doxxing thread with plans to report someone to the authorities for tax evasion and whatnot you really can't claim to be the victim anymore.
You are well aware of that, but I wasn't sure the person I was talking to was. We're well aware of that.
Gats has posted here before and explained his position. As far as I know he's been nothing but professional about it and I completely understand where he's coming from.
it actually is. not all of us,but those who pledge. they don't pay for this BS,they pay for the development of the game, and if this situation hinder it in any way, they have all the rights to be involved.t's not our business
No matter how you slice it, you have a developer on one side, an artist on the other, lawyers in the middle, and also the patrons (consumer base) to pick sides.it actually is. not all of us,but those who pledge. they don't pay for this BS,they pay for the development of the game, and if this situation hinder it in any way, they have all the rights to be involved.
I suppose they initially ripped the assets as a fuck you to the dev, though I could be wrong.I honestly don't know how to change the situation here or make it amiable. If they're using stuff from THIS game, I gotta scratch my head since they're usually the first to scream bloody murder about shit they don't like in it. Overall, I would think they would want to create their own map, their own style and think about what would make the game tick in a different way than what TG's does. Iunno man... I haven't looked at the tgg threads in a long time but if all they can do is raise a stink about this, I just don't see how this can end well at all.
But just to loop around to the beginning, it's going to be a clusterfuck if more people get involved and the drama spreads...
Originally tha guys at 8chan started the development of the mods without giving a single care about Towerfag. At that poing everyone was ignoring this game in pro of the mods because nobody cared about the game for plenty of reasons, including the gameplay among others. When Towerfag decided to go and cry over there and then DMCA'd them, that's when things got ugly. Basically, ignoring the game was working until towerfag decided to do something about it.How did it not work? Seems to work just fine as far as I can tell.
You really don't seem to understand how imageboards work. The mods of hgg redirected all the doxxing to other boards specialized in that, so they wouldn't be directly involved with it. Even then, doxxing is common business in imageboards, amd that's the reason you can't casually go and fuck over there unless you are anonymous and even then it's easy to tell who doesn't belong there. No one ever claimed they are the victim there, everyone at all moments felt safe because there's really nothing you can do about them. That said, once you start a dedicated doxxing thread with plans to report someone to the authorities for tax evasion and whatnot you really can't claim to be the victim anymore.
Man, do I hate these opinions. Actually being the players makes our opinion even more important, and it is as much of your business as you decide it to be. The reason 90% of these patreon games sucks is because patrons seems to lack enough brain to be unable to complain about things, always praising the dev for every single thing they do. This is proof that players can and will care, to the point they can be directly involved and even change the course of development. My problem with this site is that is really boring, all praising and little to no discussion, which is the main purpose of a forum. Here everyone waits with the mouth open and the hands in the lap for their next load of bullshit. Not saying you have to be aggressive about what you have to say, but a reality slap to all devs should be always necessary. No, no, I understand who and what Gats is to Towergirls, but that doesn't mean I have to care.
My take on the situation is that we should leave the situation to those that are directly involved with the development and situation of the project.
Essentially what I'm trying to say is- it's not our business to involve ourselves in this matter.
We are the players, which does play a huge role to the game, but this is something Towerfag, Gats, and if necessary, the people on the threads need to resolve. This isn't our place to argue and fight. This website -from what I can tell, even though I haven't been on this website for terribly long- is just a place to share "special" games, and ask questions about how to do things in those very games.
I'm not trying to start a fight. I just want to see it stop so that the people who actually enjoy the game, like me, can talk and answer questions about the game itself.
People dislike the direction the game took, not the style, which is why 8chan insisted in using towerfag assets, basically to make it better than he could ever do it. I mean, Gats portraits are too quality, and a lot of the animation and sprites are decent enough. From what I saw in the archives, that's the reason for them to use it, and it makes sense. Their problem is battlerape being 50% of the game and stupid things like how lust works and the semen collecting quests. No matter how you slice it, you have a developer on one side, an artist on the other, lawyers in the middle, and also the patrons (consumer base) to pick sides.
The information is going to have to be deciphered through the people's bias and all this will do is make everything else slow as hell. Not that the patrons HAVE to be informed, but it makes it so they can decide what they want to do if they know about it. But them being informed sure won't changed that you're asking people to get involved with a clusterfuck and bring out pitchforks which is going to be more of a headache than a badly aimed DMCA.

Have you tried F4 (i meant F5....thx towerfag lel) or Alt + Enter?BTW is there a way to launch this game in fullscreen? F1 doesn't work nor anything else...
That's not always true, of course I ultimately have to work on everything, so I have to decide what's worth the effort and what isn't, but there have been suggestions that made sense and were made into game's features, like a way for Princesses to get recruited that doesn't involve making their reign fall or (no shit) pregnancy, which I didn't originally plan. You know, it's a good game in my opinion. I'm not here to talk about the legal situation, I'm here to talk about the in-game experience. That's all.
If people don't like the game, tough. I don't think it's gonna change much, direction wise, anytime soon, if at all. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)
