the thing with NTR is that it's a fetish that people dislike, AI art is actively harmful to artists and will harm the quality of every VN that comes out if its allowed to grow unregulated. Not to mention that it trains itself off of everyone and anyone's artwork without their consent

That's delusional. AI is a tool that will increase work speed while reducing the talent threshold, allowing artist to do more and better than they can now.
There's nothing wrong with AI generated art. It's just a bit difficult to render the same characters in multiple different images. The image also can be edited to perfection, the fact that the base image is generated isn't important.
We are just at the beginning of AI and it's already fucking good. Soon it'll be perfect. Not only will the AI generate the art, but it'll also generate the story. It'll be better than any humans can create.
Seriously, the next step for AIs will be to have an understanding of space. Elements of images will have spatial dimensions and location. They'll be rendered perfectly. Then, the next step after that will be to understand function. How objects in space interreact with one another, or even the meaning of abstract ideas. At this point we'll essentially have a general AI. We could be 5-10 years away, it's fucking crazy.
don't wanna ruin it for you but ai are made by humans and if you ever used programing language , developed something or draw something at least you will understand that ai is completely inferior in any type of art draw or programs made by humans
[ btw the ai generate art is most probably programmed by a human to do different task or give a set of instruction each time the ai will not develop better art then the one that the programmer instructed it to do it you should also look dalemini / not better then adding a font to images very basic and rubish ] ai will never surpass human intelligence only other human can surpass each other in different fields that they are better at
Honestly, I just find it rather pathetic that the second AI Art become accessible, everyone wanted to find a way to commodify art for free. It was never about democratizing art, it was about a means to an end to remove one more person from the equation so some tech bro doesn't need to pay another person to make their next NFT.
They have removed art from the artistic process and made it about an end result. As if almost the pinnacle of the "I want it now, and for free, and to not put any effort into it" mindset that is ruining the world. Then they have the audacity to tell artist "they are a thing of the past" and "they are going to get replaced", and some how be surprised when those people act hostile to them back to them as if they are being attacked.
Ya people are not a fan of AI art for many reasons...
that is what i am talking about lazy asses that make ai generated things ... come now is almost like you had given out on life and don't even want to try if you know your art is not the best just put that you may not get the wow that's a amazing art style comments or appreciation but is something that you did and should be proud of it maybe not to many people did that or programed a game which is a bit a harder to believe [ given that you used ai generated art ] then is mostly just copy past code form github or even worst copy paste a entire game just changing the images.
i cant stand ai generated stuff

I hate to break it to you, but AI in general as it exists right now (not just stable diffusion/novelai) does not "understand" or learn anything the way a human does. It just matches patterns. While there are tweaks you can make to optimize the model, the main way you improve AI models like this is training it with a higher volume of quality and better-labeled data. There is no "understanding" involved in this process. If there was any understanding involved at all, it wouldn't generate horrifying frankenstein images alongside the overfitted pretty drawings people cherry-pick and post online.
The recent "breakthrough" in AI generated art stems from developers using sources like Danbooru and Pixiv to mine/steal a larger quantity of well-labeled art than they've been able to do before.
Yes, there is. It's trained using stolen art. The way it generates art is effectively just sophisticated, well-hidden tracing. Thankfully, the results are awful and distinguishable enough (once you've seen enough of it) that it probably won't ever replace real artists.
Stop monetizing AI generations trained on stolen art.
There's a lot of arguments about AI art, and I can see it being useful for someone who wants to get into making games but don't have any art skills. Currently most of those types of creators either learn to use poser, take screenshots from Honey Select, or find real porn that matches what they have in mind. In THEORY AI art could just be another resource for developers to use.
But here's the thing, as it applies to THIS SPECIFIC GAME, it's trash. This is not a passion project by someone who's had a great game idea but never had the art skills to make it. This is shovelware. This is somebody taking the fastest and cheapest way to churn out a game and sell it for a quick buck. This has the looks of the type of game cobbled together within a weekend and now they're selling it for $3 on steam.
If they manage to make money of this you bet they'll just keep pumping out more of the same. It's like when the mobile game market first exploded, or when we had the wave of pointless movie licensed video games in the 90s.
We are now in for a time where the market will get flooded with a LOT of shit games because it cost no money or effort to make them.
Hahaha, the amount of seething from these failed "digital artists" is hilarious. If you are so afraid of being replaced by a dumb AI maybe start making better art?
You're biting the hand that feeds you. We are here downloading games made by these "failed digital artists" for free and yet you choose to support garbage like this that could potentially drag the quality down even more.
I was thinking on my free time ("but Sancini, you're unemployed, you ALWAYS HAVE FREE TIME!" SHUT UP, IMAGINARY VOICE OF MY HEAD!), a good use for AI art, at least on 2D sprite based games, is for background assets. Because, honestly, unlike sprite artists, that you can easily find to comission something, background artists are rarer, so AI drawn backgrounds would at least be something that help and less the burden on development.
With that said, my second point is... Checking this dev's other games, I kinda understand his shift for AI Art, because all of his previous games were on the low effort of the 3D side. A lot of so-so renders, with some gameplay added (match 3 and other kinds of puzzle). I'm not in any capacity defending him, just saying that he jumped from one low effort to another.
I'm not COMPLETELY against AI Art, because sometimes, is funny just throw some tags on the prompt and see the nightmare fuels that produce (for shitposting purposes), but of course, bad actors highjack the tech to quick profit.
Below is an shitposting AI example that I made with "Goku fighting Spongebob" because here in Brazil the two have the same Voice Actor:
