The development is still going. Its public builds are really spaced out though and to get access to the intermediate builds you need to be certain hier tier supporter. The game still need some work to be more fleshed out to gather a bigger following though. Like Durbog, I encourage you to go check their patreon out.

That's explained simply: lack of interest, lack of popularity. When a game goes so unnoticed, people don't register it even for free. Now, why it's not popular is beyond my mind, because to me it looks good. If I had to speculate, I'd say having very long updates. When a game in its early stages takes so long to update, it gives the public the impression that it won't last or that they'll have to wait a long time to see more.

Some developers at the beginning of their game try to release several updates consistently so that they are seen a lot in searches for the latest releases, which gives them more visibility and possibly more followers, and that's at least my theory.

Then there are those that are simply garbage but I don't think that is the case here.
