Im a little bit puzzled: Here this game is marked as 'abandoned', but on 'f95zonegames' its marked 'on hold' yet.
Does it be stopped definitivly?
From one of the devs:
This version of Private Community can be considered as abandoned because we are simply not able to continue it.
As much as the remainder of the team wants that, when Boom left... he took everything PC related with him.

As far as we know this is dead.

Some of us hold out hope of it making a comeback, it has one of my fave romance arks but chances of that happening are not very high.
It's not a question IF we are going to restart/remake Private Community, but more about when.

The sooner we reach our goal on Patreon, the sooner I can hire someone to help us out so I can free up more time for PC, myself.
I'm also saving up for better hardware in the meantime, because rendering with my current set-up would be quite impossible.
Practicing? Sure. But really working, not really.

But, either I'm going to work on Private Community the moment Sweet Affection is finished, or if possible through us growing on Patreon... before that.
I just don't want to get anyone hopes up, or make any promises that I might not be able to keep.

Would be great to see it continue, and nothing against you, but, will you be able to keep the game going and stay true to the story as it has been unfolding?

Some of these games, let's be honest are more of a "Plot? What plot" situation, but there are a few that I found the story as much if not more important that the porn side of it. this game being one of those. the mystery aspect of the property, the sprites or whatever, and then there is the greedy uncle story.

J..D was actually the one writing Private Community.
Staying true to the plot is no issue here.

Missing hardware, missing assets and the lack of experience with DaZ3D are.

Mhm, what BloodyFace said.
I was the writer of Private Community, so staying true to the story and the characters won't be an issue.

I've written everything down on paper, everything is worked out.
From the story to the characters to every single idea that I ever had.
And, I've spend the past half year on working that out even more.

The things that are holding us back are the following.

1. Familiarity with Daz.
I've been working with DaZ for a couple years now, but it never has been the main focus in my job.
And, with all the time I spend in Honey Select Studio, some of that knowledge had disappeared.

Now, luckily I've been working on that the past half year and I've been practicing whenever I can.
And, I feel pretty confident with my ability with DaZ now.
Confident that I can at least match the original.

2. Assets.
But, that brings me to the second points. Having to start from scratch without any assets.
And, I've been working on that as well for the past half year.
Trying to replicate the characters and the world as close as possible.

However, time hasn't stood still in the past couple of years.
This game is 4+ years old, and that shows, especially with some of the characters and environments.
So, it's also about bringing the graphics to this day.
Updating the characters, while staying as close as possible to their original.
And, as you can imagine... that comes with it's own set of challenges.

However, I feel confident that I can do that, because I already succeeded in some of them. :)

3. Hardware.
I have a single 2070, and while that's good enough to practice around with and working on some of the formerly
mentioned stuff.
It's really not enough to actively work on an project, especially not with the graphics that I have planned.

People who know me from Sweet Affection know that I push myself to give everyone as much content
as I possibly can in a time-frame.
And, that is something that won't change with Private Community.

But, in order to do that. My hardware needs to be able to keep up with me, so a upgrade is required.
I'm already saving up for that, and hopefully I'm able to do that later this year.

4. Time.
Time, that is the biggest one that is holding me back.
I work 70/80 hours a week on Sweet Affection, and next to that I also deal with everything besides that.
From Patreon to Discord, to helping problems in DM's and the business side of it.

I simply don't have any time to actively work on PC.
And producing less content for Sweet Affection isn't an option either because we have so much work to do.
And, all the fans that are supporting us, do that because of Sweet Affection, and without them we wouldn't even be able to talk about PC.
They deserve that Sweet Affection gets our full attention, as well as the game and characters itself.

So, the only solution for that is to hire someone that can help me, full time.
And, obviously that person that needs to get paid as well.
But, we still have to grow some more on Patreon before we are able to do that.

But, as mentioned above.
Either soon or later, I am going to restart PC, simple as that.
Not only because you guys, the fans deserve that.
Not only because I love the project and the characters as well.
But, also because the characters themselves deserve a finished story

Just one little thing, you may have to accept that Daz is a bit of a different beast as Honeyselect anyway, even with a much better PC (not even talking about temptations of scope creep with better PC can add more people to renders and such :)). So please do not ask too much of yourself if the things above come true and you can start working on it again and accept Daz might bring some limitations on speed compared to HS.

Oh, definitely. :)
HS and Daz, even though a lot of it is basically the same, just in a different skin, there are some major differences.
(And, luckily my thousands of hours spend in HS, definitely help with some of the aspects in Daz.)

But, that is exactly why I decided to keep practicing with DaZ during these months.
Not only to learn the limitations of Daz, but also the limitations of myself and my equipment.

And, that's why I'm saying that I'm not going to develop with my 2070, because the limitations are unacceptable (for me).
Obviously I won't be able to produce big updates like I'm doing with Sweet Affection, but I still want to do as much as possible and give everyone something worth their time and money.

As BloodyFace said, no.
And not by the lack of trying from the rest of the team.

It's been over 8 months without a word at this stage, and the team assumes that that is not going to change anymore.
We are focussing completely on our new Patreon page at this point. (Naughty attic gaming)
And the old page can be considered as being abandoned as well.

Sad. I log back in to this thread about once a month or so in hopes the status quo has changed. Alas, all for naught. As i recall it was to care for a parent during the height of the plague so i hope no ill befell Boom. That said its always depressing when a creative team has to pick up the pieces and move on. I hope for the best.

First time I've dropped in on the thread in a while, and I just wanted to say a quick thank you to the dev team. The transparency and frankness you have maintained throughout this journey is above top notch and a rarity in the industry. It's concerning that no one has been able to contact Boom for so long and I sincerely hope all is well with him. Whether he returns to development again in the future seems pretty unlikely at this point, but most importantly I just hope he is well. I've been through taking care of an elderly family member in their last days and months. It is such a difficult journey emotionally and mentally, and I sincerely hope he has a strong support network around him and has some found sense of peace throughout his and his loved ones ordeal.

To JD, Bloody, Quonix, and Outside; Keep up the outstanding work. We all look forward to the day PC can be brought back to life, and patience is much easier to hold onto when the dev team is as honest and forthcoming as you all have been.

As a1fox3 and BloodyFace already said, pretty much everything is explained in these two posts.
First one from October 25th 2021

And the last one from January 2nd 2022

This version of Private Community can be considered as abandoned because we are simply not able to continue it.
As much as the remainder of the team wants that, when Boom left... he took everything PC related with him.

As I also explained in the second post, we DO want to restart this project under another name and with original assets.
(Story remains the same because I've been the writer of it already)
But, right now our focus is 100% on continuing Sweet Affection and making sure we can continue to pay our bills through that.
IF or when our page grows a little bit more towards where we used to be at with BA-Games, we will be hiring new people and start work on the restart.

However, that is completely in the hands of you guys, the fans.
We promise that we are going to start work on it if we reach higher numbers, but can also guarantee that we won't if we don't grow.

Not going to make any false promises that "We are working on it" or "That it's going to take some time"
No, all effort right now goes into Sweet Affection. And once we are able to hire someone else for the team, then the work will start.

But, I also understand that people are fed up with problems surrounding this project and others.
A lot of faith has been lost and a lot of people are disappointed.
But, we are disappointed as well. We are hurt as well.

The only thing that we can promise, and that I've been promising from the first day we made our new Creator page is that we will work on restoring that trust, and that we continue to work our asses off... every single day.
Oh! Sweet affection!
I guess I'll find out if this too has multiple page length essays for normal single interactions.
