The game definitely should be tagged as mind control since there's no "mind influence" tag. The MC might not be commanding a person's every action but the first day not only have you influencing a woman's thoughts in directing what she wears on a date but also getting to do her in the toilet. That's mind control.
I'd also like to know what's the appeal of the bitchy woman who tries to bully a MC, fails, then keeps throwing the male MC into situations with the MC rolling over and taking it.
The entire Mai introduction is just a "wtf?" scene. She's hacking the MC's data, tries to act like it's for security, then acts like she can keep the server open longer once she's called on the BS only to find out that the guy who makes that decision is who she punched in the stomach and we need "good luck" to get him to agree.
And yet MC still pays for her meal at the burger joint and reveals everything about his project! I get that it's fun to have a quirky Fem-dom character in stories but our MC specifically explains how he allowed innocent Shai to break out of her forced crappy homelife in between meeting Mai and telling Mai everything. These things don't mesh at all.
I really can't get a handle on what the dev is going for story-wise. There's a lot of actions (the Mai thing, not calling Catherine back to the point her girlfriend stages an intervention) that come across as just to make things happen. Which is really strange considering the story itself is on a countdown for something to happen (end of the program or getting the program gets extended) and it feels like it's half-way through that time with not much development.

Well the Sims sure have come a long way and I must say I think this may be the first game I've played that uses Sim models I know there is a few around but this is a change for me and a good one, nice choice in models, and certainly an interesting game can't wait for more Kylie.

As you have picked I wanted a diverse arrange of characters.
The MC has been around the university a while (7 years) and at 40 is mature enough to understand the quirky behaviours, antics and thoughts from people half his age at the university (which he would have seen a lot of).
The data on the super-computer will soon be pretty useless, technically the University would own all the rights and they have just blown his project off and as he explains the encryption is there more for integrity than for security.
The whole PHD has really been a distraction so he doesn't have to think about relationships, love and life. The MC has feelings for Emily and Catherine and with the ethics popping up in using the device on them he is using Mai as a distraction as he finds her 'scareousing'.
While his behaviours might not be logical, it is functional for the MC who in some ways is trying not to get attached to anything or anyone.
I see the MC as being a person who through his study would have a good understanding of behavioural analysis and is very curious about people. While he is not a push over he still has a lot of empathy for those around him and wants to understand more the people around him (hence building the device to read peoples thoughts).
Lastly he works at happy burger, so it hasn't really cost him anything or put him out at all.

Thanks for letting me know this should be fixed by the time others read this (applied to the workupload and uploadhaven downloads - should be around 280mb )
When I dragged the file to the browser something must have happened because I thought I accidentally dragged it to the desktop. Instead it somehow put itself inside itself while copying itself to the desktop where I uploaded that file.
Not sure how I didn't notice the file size difference when it was uploaded.

Not bad, and very interesting to see a totally different model program being used.
Interesting story premise and take on the "mind control" trope as well, namely "subconsciously" influencing thoughts and the "victim" believing them to be their own impulses. Or at least that's the impression I got of how it works. I guess it remains to be seen how powerful the effect actually is though.
Anyway, interested to see where the game goes.
