It's Zorlun's choice to make. I never suggested otherwise. I don't agree with his decision to give in to censorship, even to save his own livelihood, but he never asked for my advice, and there's no reason why he should ask my advice. It's not my money on the line. But Patreon is what pays his bills, we might not like there hypocritical rules, but if you want to keep using their platform to get paid you have to. I’ve seen other good games already get shutdown from Patreon police because of incest content. It’s like our jobs, we might not like or even hate our jobs but we have to keep going to them if we want to get a paycheck right?
Other people have made the choice to tell Patreon to fuck off, and it didn't kill their game. There are quite a few other developers who are doing pretty well using only other funding options. And there are quite a few developers who did kill their games by giving in to Patreon. Zorlun gave in to Patreon, and it didn't kill his game (not yet, at least), so perhaps he feels that it was worth it. But he'll never know if he could have made it without Patreon, while keeping his original vision of the game intact.
I'm enjoying this game quite a bit, even in its current form. I'm enjoying the characters, particularly Myriam's character. I'm enjoying the fetishes. I'm enjoying the renders. But I would have enjoyed it much more, if it were uncensored and true to the creator's original intent.
As for the analogy of Patreon being like your job, I have quit jobs before because they asked me to do something which I thought was unethical. Yeah, it can be a little scary to walk away from a job before you have another one lined up, but I've done it a couple of times now, and it's worked out fine. At least I didn't sacrifice my principles. My principles are more valuable to me than a paycheck. And, in each case, I did find another job, and I still have a paycheck.
