No.. Please no stats grinding shit that ruined already many other games for me and multiple others here..
Let this amazing VN stay as it is...

No, it's not.
It is with grinding bullshit and free-roam mess games though.
Stats aren't necessarily bad, I remember choiceofgames being pretty good with stat based chyoa's, which a VN basically is.

I wanted the girl to be lean, Ponyguy. This is my first game but I've been lurking these forums for some time. Girls in games here are usually a bit "thick" for my taste. However, the game is for you. So if it is the general opinion about the girl, I may change the proportions in the future although I'm not willing to do it drastically :)

Since this is a "0.1", I'm open to all kinds of criticism. Please let me know what you think of it.
I'm quoting an old post here, but I just want to say I love the girl's body. Honey Select women in other games seem to have the "bimbo" factor turned up to 100 and are too busty, hippy, and yes, thick.

Someone mentioned that her breasts are too big for her frame, but that's OK with me. This is a porn game after all, something's got to be a bit fantastic.

Really looking forward to see how this game will progress. If you don't mind me asking, when do you think the next update will come?

Introducing such RPG skills will be a grind. Different stats will give different scenes.
It is a grind. It forces to replay multiple and multiple times.

How can you say it's not a grind when you even say yourself once a day she could work on ONE skill? Lol.
That's just stupid.

RPG elements don't belong into ren'py games and they don't belong into a VN at all either.
I like some RPGM games as well, but the majority are garbage because of such stats that introduce a grind.
Wow, nearly everything you say here is wrong.

I guess you like your hand to be held through the entire game so, no matter what you choose, you always get to the end of the game with no effort or thought required.

Your definition of a "grind" is much different than mine. To me, a grind is when you have to repeat tasks over and over again to increase stats or variables to the point of it becoming boring. That isn't what JessicaJones was suggesting.

"RPG elements don't belong into ren'py games and they don't belong into a VN at all either."

You keep attempting to make your opinion a fact which it isn't, no matter how much you believe it!

Damsels and Dungeons is an RPG game done in Ren'py. The author did a good job with it too. People shouldn't limit themselves based on perceived conceptions.

Players need to keep in mind that the following stats were added by the author:

astrength
aknowledge
afit
aagility
amusic

These weren't made up by me. The author wouldn't have added them unless he considered using them at some point. Something to think about...

Some or all of those stats will be used, and there will most probably be some kind of sandbox part in the game. Otherwise, it will take too long for our MC to finish the summer school :) 1 day release takes one month - 30 days is 30 months. Then, she'll wait for college to start. After a while, I'm thinking of setting up a "limited" sandbox to speed up progression. It feels more organic than writing a message like "2 weeks later" and continuing the story.

I'm always stressing that I don't want the players to track the stats, those are for me! Just play the game however you like and see where it goes. I usually play RPG games on my computer. As someone who prefers RPGs, my efforts to hide/not mention the stats at PS is intentional. Usually the limits I set for events are lower than the maximum but higher than the minimum that can be achieved. Except for a few events, players don't miss events because of stats. I had talked about this before, the stats will start to come into play after the game progresses enough and stats reflect the general attitude of the player. When they are important, I will show them to you :)

And, I don't plan to introduce that "limited" sandbox for grinding. I asked for the ideas of people while restarting the game. The result was "no grinding" :) But, we have grinding in PS - bathroom scenes. There will probably be more events like it to speed up the progression. Bathroom grinding is there because I don't want the bathing / showering scenes to have a few static images like most games out there (I'm not criticizing them, I'm just stating that I wanted PS to be different). Similarly, to avoid "1 week later" messages, I plan to introduce other small scenes which can be considered grinding. The thing I do different from a stat based game is, I value decisions over stats. The MC acting slutty in 10 situations doesn't mean she needs to act like that in 11th just because she has a sluttiness of 10 which means she is a slut. That just means that she is more comfortable with that choice. She can act like a virgin just because she wants to or make fun of the situation. But, a MC acting like a nice girl 10 times can't act slutty just because she feels like it. There, the stats have effect. This, I think, is common sense.

The same can be valid for other stats. The examples @jessicajones gave in the previous page are not extreme. How well she does in a volleyball game or how well she can handle herself in a struggle can be small nuances between different playthroughs. They don't deserve a different save, but, they remind the player of the little choices they make. For example, think of the bar struggle: She can get out of it by talking too. But, if she has the agility, she may not need to. If she meets them next time, they'll be expecting a kick and she should have more agility. But, if she talked them out of it before, she can try to talk them out of it again. Story doesn't change much. If she fails, the same groping scene happens for both choices. I think that is what many will try to see anyway :D

I know this has become a very long read. But, I'll give one more example. If you didn't play truth or dare at the last update, you'll miss some scenes in the next event with the boys. Also, if you stripped fully, you'll probably have bonus scenes. These are the choices you made. But, the scenes at the next event will be decided by the stats associated with your choices.

I think the opinions of @jessicajones and @Nelythia aren't mutually exclusive just as the choices and stats aren't. Maybe, considering the bathroom example, you'll both agree with each other.

Sorry for the wall of text. But, I'm writing the scene about Andrew visiting the MC at home :) I needed a break :D

Here you go then.

Mac has 2 parts:

If you end up liking this game, please consider supporting Paperwork on Patreon so he can invest more time into his games eventually and provide us with even more content in each update!

Well I appreciate it. Sadly these do not work nor open properly. Can anyone scan these or get them working?

Calyps0, I understand your frustrations on wanting a Mac version but frequent requesting can be a little annoying.

Perhaps its time to consider patreon as you have been playing PS since last year so I think you like this game a fair bit.

I can appreciate your standpoint. I think the fairer question is, why have the PC versions been made (are) free the entire time?

It is sad that I have to request the MAC version but the bottom line is, no one on PC has had too.

Furthermore, if you can see how long I've been playing and my posts, you can see I am not the only one by any means making these requests. There are many others. Maybe I have been most vocal. My contributions would be more meaty if I could play and give other opinions. I made clear that I dont have the funds to contribute in other posts also. That has been a constant. Your argument would hold more water if the majority of others didn't get free updated access.

I find it very annoying as well.

The Mac links are the ones Paperwork shared on his Patreon. I just copied them here.

PC players have to request the new updates as well, as they did with the recent update and I decided to buy & share it here. After that it was uploaded by the Staff of f95zone to different hosts to provide more download options.
There are only a very few devs that actually share their games themself here. However, even if they don't, most of the devs, just like Paperwork, still appreciate f95zone for what it is and does, because it gives them a very great opportunity for advertising and to interact with the players/community. A way to get more feedback on the game, scenes, etc.

They obviously don't have to do that, neither interact here nor provide updates of their games themself. But the ones that do have my upmost respect, because it shows to me that they have passion and dedication, instead of being in it for the money only.

Before I posted, I tried to be fair and searched your name under PS thread but every post I saw of you was asking about Mac version. Of course, there may truly be other posts of you providing reviews which seems to be the case from yr comment so yea I blame the search engine - :ROFLMAO:

My so call * argument * was really more leaned towards you getting patreon but yes, thank you for clearing that up.

Waiting is annoying for sure but its the life of freeloaders. If one cant/refuse for patreon and no one provides the link, tough luck really.

Anyhow, lets just end it here shall we? Good luck and I hope you get a link soon.

Nelythia is kinda right. Many attempts to add "RPG elements" ruined the game. Although the idea is usually good, but game developers usually fail to implement it properly and instead they turn game into stupid grind. You might point few (VN) games where RPG elements were okay, but on the other hand there are dozens more that were annoying.

People usually play VN because they want to enjoy pure story and avoid annoying game elements. If you really cant live without RPG elements then dont play VN and go play different game genre.

TYVM for doing that Nelythia. I agree the balance of producers wanting this community playing their games versus those that pay for it is a delicate balance. Of course. given the choice I think they would prefer both! For some reason one of the links DL's like a normal zip file but then when you try to unpack it, it doesnt work. The second link DL's the game but requires an unarchiver program to open it once DL'd. I use IZip. It gives a "None of the selected items is archive." error and wont open that file.

I realize that you are just being a generous here. Was just hoping someone could look into it. I wonder if the program in the links needs work? Do you use MAC? Worked for you?]

Thanks again.

Hello Patrons,

This is the first development update for this release.

I've spent most of my time writing and developing the story. This update will be around Andrew and George. I decided to make images after I completed writing for this update as it needs more planning on my side. Writing is more time consuming for me. So, I feel happy about the current state of development.

I will be sharing some images and more info later (soon) and also post a poll.

So far, the progress is as follows:

Writing:80%

Images 0% :)
