Some or all of those stats will be used, and there will most probably be some kind of sandbox part in the game. Otherwise, it will take too long for our MC to finish the summer school
1 day release takes one month - 30 days is 30 months. Then, she'll wait for college to start. After a while, I'm thinking of setting up a "limited" sandbox to speed up progression. It feels more organic than writing a message like "2 weeks later" and continuing the story.
I'm always stressing that I don't want the players to track the stats, those are for me! Just play the game however you like and see where it goes. I usually play RPG games on my computer. As someone who prefers RPGs, my efforts to hide/not mention the stats at PS is intentional. Usually the limits I set for events are lower than the maximum but higher than the minimum that can be achieved. Except for a few events, players don't miss events because of stats. I had talked about this before, the stats will start to come into play after the game progresses enough and stats reflect the general attitude of the player. When they are important, I will show them to you
And, I don't plan to introduce that "limited" sandbox for grinding. I asked for the ideas of people while restarting the game. The result was "no grinding"
But, we have grinding in PS - bathroom scenes. There will probably be more events like it to speed up the progression. Bathroom grinding is there because I don't want the bathing / showering scenes to have a few static images like most games out there (I'm not criticizing them, I'm just stating that I wanted PS to be different). Similarly, to avoid "1 week later" messages, I plan to introduce other small scenes which can be considered grinding. The thing I do different from a stat based game is, I value decisions over stats. The MC acting slutty in 10 situations doesn't mean she needs to act like that in 11th just because she has a sluttiness of 10 which means she is a slut. That just means that she is more comfortable with that choice. She can act like a virgin just because she wants to or make fun of the situation. But, a MC acting like a nice girl 10 times can't act slutty just because she feels like it. There, the stats have effect. This, I think, is common sense.
The same can be valid for other stats. The examples
@jessicajones gave in the previous page are not extreme. How well she does in a volleyball game or how well she can handle herself in a struggle can be small nuances between different playthroughs. They don't deserve a different save, but, they remind the player of the little choices they make. For example, think of the bar struggle: She can get out of it by talking too. But, if she has the agility, she may not need to. If she meets them next time, they'll be expecting a kick and she should have more agility. But, if she talked them out of it before, she can try to talk them out of it again. Story doesn't change much. If she fails, the same groping scene happens for both choices. I think that is what many will try to see anyway
I know this has become a very long read. But, I'll give one more example. If you didn't play truth or dare at the last update, you'll miss some scenes in the next event with the boys. Also, if you stripped fully, you'll probably have bonus scenes. These are the choices you made. But, the scenes at the next event will be decided by the stats associated with your choices.
I think the opinions of
@jessicajones and
@Nelythia aren't mutually exclusive just as the choices and stats aren't. Maybe, considering the bathroom example, you'll both agree with each other.
Sorry for the wall of text. But, I'm writing the scene about Andrew visiting the MC at home
I needed a break
