Avoid opening the archive and "copying" the files manually. (Never do that with large archives)
Instead, use the context menu to extract it directly which should result in a size around 7.98GB.
You will still get the same error at the end but the game will still work.

Mel is a really fun streamer. holding off on the download since so many are having issue but excited to try it once I see reports from people saying its working.

That's a different error which another user complained about and they got it fixed by clearing the game's data.
That's a completely different error unrelated to the game, it literally states what's the problem if you read.
A simple PC restart should fix that.
If the .pak was actually "corrupted", I wouldn't be able to run the game at all.
Look, I could easily re-compress the game for a "fixed" archive but it's not worth my time for a minor checksum error which I've tested and found as a non-issue.
I'm good, pal. I've got more than enough experience and skill to tell a legitimate file from a MELWARE
The only ones that get "owned" are the ones that always complains about false-positive "virus" which are usually just a harmless tool/mod/crack.

All these errors and the people trying to overcome them...can you even fuck Mel yet? Is it actually worth the effort? I know there was that dream sequence that ends with "you" waking up fucking your pillow, but what is there beyond that?

had the same issue,wen downloading the 2 split version. what 1 did u download the 1 file or split
It's not working for me either. I extracted both with drag and drop, or clicking the extract button, but I always get an error message and only extracts a folder of around 400MB.
HERES HOW TO IGNORE THE CHECKSUM ERROR WITH WINRAR.
1. Right click the .RAR file and click "Extract Files..."
2. In the Miscellaneous section on the bottom right of the window, check "Keep broken files"
3. Export to your desired location.
The game should run.
Edit: also make sure you have the Prerequisites installed as well.

Right clicking and choosing extract doesn't work, neither does opening the file and extracting it.

Is there still corruption issues? Any change-log? Gave last version a run and was impressed. go early access and ill buy it. Patreon just awful for game development. dev how about DLSS support? I know TSR is pretty good and I can force it myself but its overhead is much higher than DLSS and motion-vector pass is already required right? Cool to see porn devs actually pushing out the first UE5 games

The actual game files aren't corrupted, only the archive seems to have some issue with checksum of the "Melody-Windows.pak" file which could just be a bug since, the game is running fine.
But since a lot of people don't seem to be able to bypass the error even with instructions given, fine, I'll re-compress the game and upload the "fixed" archive soon.
Check the first page or dev's official discord server.
I agree, I personally can't support games outside of Steam due to government restrictions but even if I could, I would never give a cent to Patreon or MEGA. They're both shit companies from what I've seen so far.
