Devs don't sell the game itself via patreon. Rather, they give their builds for free in exchange for subscribing to their patreon channel. Selling actual merch with Projekt Melody vtuber printed on it or registering an internet domain using "Projekt Melody" without a permission would be a huge fuck up because Project Melody belongs to VShojo vtuber company and the Melody model herself is run by an actual person who signed a contract with VShojo - hence grounds for an ass rape unless authorized by VShojo no less.
Considering there are no Melody shirts available I am going to assume that there is a fine chance devs are not affiliated with VShojo, but to list a couple:

• Devs are not on board with VShojo and are not going to put literal "Projekt Melody" in the title of 1.0 STEAM release and any similarities with an actual VShojo Melody are technically coincidental.
• Devs are allowed to use VShojo asset one way of another and it is a collab, official or devs are allowed to get away with using VShojo assets for it is a free advert of the porn vtuber.

This is the demo version with the prologue.
The game itself takes half an hour to complete.
After passing the prologue give a choice of sex, man or woman (strapon) / futa, after which the game ends.
Main problems
1)Very short (demo passes for 30 minutes if you skip dialogs).
2)The game is poorly optimized.
3)No ready-made content (except animations and locations) in sandbox mode.
4)Creepy mouth animation(exactly talking).

So right now it's more of a sandbox than a game.

Why would they sell Melody shirts when melody has a merch store to sell about herself? That'd just be redundant; hence why they make shirts of other characters in the game. not to mention this game when it was first announced was heavily marketed by Melody herself; so it's definitely not a "wink wink nudge nudge we're just making this beneath the table!" Hell, they even have Vexoria; the vtuber that's melody's friend voicing a character in the game.

(Also, of course they are not going to have the domain for projektmelody. A squatter has had that original domain for the longest time and plugged their own chaturbate feed into it. Domains work on a first come first serve and you'd best believe that it was taken the moment melody rose to popularity.)

They're not saying "Melody doesn't support this", they're saying Melody (the streamer) doesn't own the rights to "Projekt Melody", which is instead owned by Vshojo. She didn't singlehandedly make the mocap or the character creator programs she uses, so she effectively has zero say in licensing the name beyond lending herself as a promoter (which is precisely what she's doing, per your own post). How you interpreted clear legal boundaries as "talking bullshit" is beyond me.

I came back to test this thing again, I still don't know why the dev doesn't precompile shaders, the optimization is a bit better than before but the massive stutter fest the game has when compiling the shaders whilst in the middle of the scenes is just mind boggling.

I'd rather wait 2 minutes before the game starts if that means it ain't going to play at constant 1-2 FPS until they're done compiling.

Looking more into it, you're right: the complication is probably more so that Vshojo's primary goal is merchandising and promotion for their Vtubers, which would put any merchandise this dev is selling in direct conflict with merchandise coming from Vshojo. Melody owns her assets and name (disregarding some apparent copyright disputes between her and the dude that made her character model), but the merchandise and promotion is what Vshojo facilitates, thus she could freely lend her name and likeness to this project, but legal difficulties might arise over a third party selling merchandise for the same franchise without Vshojo's input. All that said, this is probably more legally gray than I first thought, so waiting for any explanation from the devs themselves is likely the only recourse at this point.

I subscribed to one month on their patreon to check out the dev work in more depth.

I don't care if its "official" or not. If I play a game for free, and decide I enjoy it, I may support it financially and keep a further eye on its development.

See the problem with this, its been like a freaking year and still no sex scenes. I dont believe this. Look at all the new crap for the goddess. The devs know people want melody but keep avoiding her. Its like i said months if not a year ago. People want melody, not malware, not the goddess, but melody. And the devs keep avoiding this. As a very skeptical person to this kind of stuff it makes me believe its because the devs want money and if they keep hinting at melody stuff people will keep donating while not actually making it so they get a easy paycheck.

Yes and no.

Vshojo is an agency like any other and provides all the same services as one would expect from a Ninjisanji or a Cover Corp, the difference is that Vshojo contractually does not claim ownership over models of its talents nor does it govern "off-time" behavior, the character is treated as the property of the talent not Vshojo, this is for Vshojos "Talent first" policy that they use to separate themselves from the "idol culture" of other agencies. this includes Henya and Nazuna who will get to keep their models should they wish to leave Vshojo and can do "personal work" and collaborations with their models so long as it does not bring damage to Vshojos brand or disparage the company.

That said you don't have to worry about them suddenly doing what Melody is doing for a number of reasons, many stemming from Japan's surprisingly strict laws governing pornographic endeavors and the generally conservative nature of Japan bringing a lot of social stigma to those who perform in the pornographic industry.

At least that's the idea. Vshojo is not without its own skeletons.

With that out of the way, I am having difficulty lunching the game, Its asking me for Microsoft Visuial C++ Runtime. but as far as i know all my windows updates are up to date and i have all the normal C++ stuff installed.
