My deepest condolences my friend. I know how you are feeling, had a rough year of 2014 with both my mom and grandfather passing away in a short period of time. Unfortunately my mom passing wasn't as peaceful so it is a blessing when it is. Time will make it easier and the fond memories will stay forever.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom 11 months ago. I know how insane it feels to hear someone say "i know how you feel." And I'm not going to say that, because nobody else ever really can. Your relationship with your dad is yours, and nobody else can know what it means for you to lose him. But for whatever it's worth, I know what it's like to feel as though your entire world is suddenly ripped away from its foundations.
I'm really glad you got to say the things that needed saying. It hurts, but it's also a gift, as much as it doesn't feel that way now.
I hope you have the support of other loved ones. Please take all the time you need to take care of yourself. We'll all be here when you're ready.

The spin off is just a april's fool fan release, joking around, it barely has too much effort on making it compared with the main game. In last year spin off on april's fool Classy Lemon said (jokingly) something around that they would quit the main game and turn it into a College theme game hahaha, the one in the OP is this year april's fool release.
About the main game, it consists right now of 2 completed seasons, Classy is working on first episode of season 3.
You must play season 1 first and then at the end will prompt to save and that save transfers to begin season 2, the same happens in the end of season 2. But they are separate installs, I guess for the purpose to fit better for android once compressed, no idea. It is always better for many people not have to download 10GB+ (I guess it doesn't reach that but you got what I meant) for the completed game so far. Also on steam the game is sold per season so that is one more purpose of doing it in parts.
Edit: the difference of size between seasons is also on the increase of graphic quality, even though season 1 is already very good but season 2 visually really shines, I'm biased but for me its the AVN with better graphic quality atm. Also somewhere in season 2 Classy Lemon started to work with Blender (together with DAZ studio from before) for the animations and you will notice that will require much more from the CPU/GPU combined but I suspect that is also because of a more recent renpy version, someone with more knowledge can explain better I guess.

It's just after Emily sex scene in EP8. The dialogue appears if you previously also fucked Ashe in EP7.
the dialogue doesn't show on my first playthrough and idk what i did wrong. i fucked ashe before but after that sex scene with emily on ep 8 she talks about cyber zombies instead.
