V's probably the only character that's inconsistent and done dirty by the writer after every update she's in. As a former V fan, the stuff that we saw about her in this update was just... wow, in a very bad kinda way. I don't know what the point is of all those... jealous lover outbursts of hers or whatever, but unless we're supposed to find out she's a bipolar closet sadomasochist we should be more accepting of, this is not the kinda plot twist that'll make players reconsider their interest in her.
The thing I never understood about her is this exaggerated clinginess toward the MC that makes her insecure asf for no valid reason, IMO. Sure, he's an attractive guy she fell for and who she thinks has a lot of potential to grow as a person, but ffs V, the guy's a walking red flag that would put an entire damn communist ass-kissing party to shame.
She said she always falls for the guys who break her heart, which can mean everything from previous (physically) abusive relationships to casual flings, where she was promised a lot, only to be rostered or just pumped and dumped by the guys she thought she was exclusive with, and still goes for another potential fuckboi.
In MC's case, he's basically a stranger or an acquaintance at best to her and a recently divorced guy with a daughter in a damn coma to boot, so her pushing so hard for exclusivity is simply ridiculous and makes no sense storywise coming from a supposedly smart woman like her.Guess porn 'logic' is again the answer to our questions, but even so, I completely agree with what you said. Allie is bitchy and grudgy (i know it's not a word, but she can hold a grudge).
Nat is made out to be an evil spy (whether she is one or not, we are suspicious of her motives)
Jasmine is immature, bossy and overly flirty.
And Maggie seems too nice, so they had to throw a hint of femdom in there. (With possibly more flaws to be revealed).
All of them, except maybe Maggie, have a lot of growing to do as people, which fits the story because so does MC. I'm looking forward to seeing the LIs develop alongside the MC.

I don't really see any of that situation as Jake leading Veronica on at all. She knew his marital situation and they both agreed on the state of their relationship (casual). 3 months later, she wants a change in the relationship but he does not... Then she unilaterally decides that she's his girlfriend even if he doesn't agree to changing the relationship and gets super catty when another woman appears to align more with his interests.Yeah, I didn't want V, but that whole sequence didn't sit very comfortably with me.
So I don't think he lead her on at all. She's just being clingy, insecure, and fairly toxic imo.

This is the dev's way of showing that the mc is an asshole before we start playing the game and part of why the marriage fell apart. I'm not sure if it's explicitly said in game but I think the mc knew V was into him and wanted to be his gf after his divorce and he decides to get with her because he felt it was easy to string her along.I personally really hate the way the devs have written Jake out to be a complete asshole towards V when he's not reciprocating her feelings. What in the actual fuck is so hard about sitting her down, and actually telling her that he's just not ready for commitment.
Instead we have to watch him lead her on until she reaches her breaking point. And then he still acts oblivious about the whole damn thing by attempting to call her after she sends him that text.
Part of the theme of the game is whether he remains an asshole or if he can change for the better.

If it makes you feel any better, if V became too much for everyone this release, start a new playthrough and always choose against her. Somewhere in there is a choice or combo thereof that makes her have to take some time for herself to think about things, or whatever. Frankly I forgot she was in the game until reading the posts here because after I chose not to go on a walk or whatever with her last playthrough she texts back saying "its not you, its me... no it was you" and I never heard from her again.
When I first played this game I was annoyed with having a pre-existing relationship, but sometimes thats not always bad. However it quickly became very clear that I had to end it with how she was reacting to the students fawning over the MC. I hope all of you who accidentally went further with her are provided with a means to exit the relationship, now that it sounds she's gone full possessive and jealous.

It's called falling in love, dude. And that can happen, even in a casual relationship with no strings attached. And it alludes back to my original point: why continue to lead someone on when you can clearly see they want the more you're not ready to give? Outside of her path, Jake just looks like someone who's keeping her around for easy bums, and that's pretty shitty to do, no matter how you look at it.
Jake himself mentions that she sees something in him, alluding to the best part of him, which she obviously sees and wants to be a part of. Is she perhaps a little bit too territorial? Kinda, but with Jammin consistently making it a point to get under her skin, I don't blame her. Imagine if Jake had to deal with a young, handsome college student/ faculty member making passes at V, just to get to him.
