I've won them all, with no cheating except for the Mr. Bubu's PDF Walkthrough hints. Occassional rollbacks if I screw up, too, but that's Renpy, not cheating....

all the races are winnable

. It's a manual gear shift. You go 1 to 5 generally. Pay attention to what MC is thinking during the races, sometimes he'll say "i took this turn in 2nd" or something like that, which indicates the next gear should be 3. It's not rocket science, there is even tutorial in the game for it. If you use the WT mod/URM it will indicate the best choices during races that are not shift related.

But why do I always lose in the first race

I roll back many times always same result. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. You click the gear corresponding to the one show in the speedometer, right? And what do you click when the gear is at N?

The race with dialogue choice is fine. I'm talking about the first race where you have to click a gear numbers.

coz you are doing it wrong obviously. Race starts, you press 1, 2, 3 etc. See my earlier comment (forgot to mention you need to press the correct gear when the green arrow lights up on the speedometer, not before or after)

Thanks. I got it. Now I realize how stupid I am. I keep thinking its like a QTEs where I have to press the correct gear as show in the speedometer when the arrow turn green....

With this insane Quality and Entertainment they provide, Underground Studios should be at "DPC" Level (10.000 - 15.000 Patreons)....

yeah yeah ik "i'd do everything for my child" - but like this?

really? how about a medical treatment for a genetic immune disease with UV rays bombardment (specific spectrum, different from tanning), a shrink ('cause apparently the mental state affects the intensity) and a cocktail of custom meds (not joking, all of them were prepared specifically for me, most from scratch). and this was back in the '90's. if anything, this treatment seems far more believable than you'd think, and far more humane, especially for an extreme case. believe it or not, the only part that's unbelievable in that entire treatment process is the size of the helmet Lily had on. far too small and slim. not even the part about translating neural impulses into digital data is far-fetched.
