Hey everyone!
I haven’t mentioned this before, but for about a year now, I’ve been slowly renovating an old apartment. It hadn’t seen any serious updates since the early 80s — so I’m talking full-on overhaul: new electrical and plumbing systems, tearing down and rebuilding walls, the whole shebang. Nearly every wall was crooked, and nothing in this place is quite level or straight, but I’m super happy (and honestly a bit relieved) that it’s finally done!
One of the reasons the renovation took so long was because most of my free time was devoted to Race of Life, especially finishing Episode 3.2 and the Steam release. Only after all that dust settled (pun intended), I was able to gather the energy to really push through and wrap up the apartment.
What I didn’t expect was how much time the move itself would take. I thought we’d get everything done over a weekend — classic mistake — but it ended up taking an entire week. And then we brought our three cats over… which turned out to be a whole new level of chaos. They were so stressed it took us three more days just to calm them down and help them adjust to the new space.
I finally managed to hook my computer back up on Friday — and now here I am, writing you this little dev update!
Right before the move, I had started working on the “spicier” part of the Veronica scene, which is going to feature dozens of animations. I’ve been focusing a lot on animation recently, and in this episode, they’ll be a bit longer and — hopefully — noticeably smoother as I'm still learning new animation techniques.
I also did some deep dive research and figured out a way to convert the animations so that even though they’re longer, they actually take up less space, while looking even better than before. So this update will be kind to your hard drives, but still packed with content.
I’m currently catching up to Joshua, and I hope to move on to another equally “interesting” scene with a different character later this month.
Few words from Joshua:
Episode 4 is coming along. I've got the broad strokes for every scene, now it' just a matter of adding depth and choices to the scenes.
I hope everyone that observes Easter had a good holiday. Unfortunately, mine was spent in a dentist's chair after splitting one of my molars when biting down on a piece of bone that had made it's way into a home made sausage. Tooth pain is no joke, so it baffles my why the first thing a dentist does when you have an emergency appointment with them is notice a split tooth, say "Does this hurt?" and then plunge a metal prong into the open crack.
I swear, I have never wanted to grab a handful of scrotum and twist quite as badly as I did in that moment. Not a jury in the land would convict me.
Still, I had the tooth capped and will be getting an implant so I can continue to enjoy the occasional steak. If you hear anything about a dentist being discovered with dental implements impaled in his rectum... well hopefully one of you is willing to provide an alibi.
Stay tuned!
