I would not call Veronica's problem "being too sweet" lol.
I would. She brings no friction or drama to the table. She gets swept really easy and she basically fucks off to the sunset if she doesn't get first place. If you consider her 'pressuring' MC for a relationship something bad then idk what yall think of women IRL cuz it's very conventional behavior.
As for the bit about "changing the outcome..." yeah? That's how the majority of these games work. I think most people would agree that an AVN where whether or not you can advance the main plot effectively depends on which girl you like best would be a terrible experience mechanically. Like, imagine being told that you couldn't win certain races unless you shack up with Jasmine, or that Lily wouldn't wake from her coma unless you reunite with Allison, or that you won't get revenge on Wyatt unless you choose Maggie. These would all be ridiculous outcomes since you can only (probably) choose one girl by the end, and so would miss out on resolving at least 80% of the storylines.
You're missing the point. Any good story-driven or choices-matter game have decent amount of sub plotlines where making specific decisions or picking specific characters rewards you with substories, different scenes (outside of fucking), slight tweaks to conversations, etc.
Kinda like how going for Quinn gets you to mingle downtown and meet with dealers, going for Jill gets you to meet her friends and thus introduces new characters you'd just glance off otherwise, etc. None of these ultimately change the main plot but they give you something more than just swapping characters at an event.
Cheating on her with the way more attractive redhead ?
Nah Sage puts Jammin to shame, it's not even a competition.

But hey, the comparison does make sense lol.
