This game truly has very beautiful animations and images. Moreover, the characters have real personalities, and you really want to discover them. Congratulations, great game!

Hope we can put this absurd 'debate' behind us before the mods join in on the fun again, or don't, and I'll gladly let you and your lil friends talk to each other and keep accusing me of shit I never said and done, not as badly as you make it sound at least.
Shift gears from the 1st to the 5th like you'd drive a real car, or pay attention to the MC when he says which gear he should switch to, keep the engine under 8k RPMs, somewhere in the 7-7.7 range is the safest option, and you should win every time.
I don't know if this is really how it's actually done, but it worked for me. Try and see if it works for you too, and don't forget to save and load in case you make a mistake. You'll know if you made one based on the MC's reactions and comments... or if you lose the race lol.

To avoid any other issues, bugs, crashes, or anything story-related like missing scenes or progress with the LIs/side characters, consider doing a fresh playthrough and use Scrappy's Mod to make the best choices.
Keep the CTRL or TAB button pressed till you reach the part where you were stuck or the new Ep starts, and continue from there.
If you using Windows, the mod will work on any PC. Don't know about Linux or Mac, cuz I don't use those, but it should work on them too.

It's really simple.
The drag race is the easiest one. You just let the tachometer rev until it hits the 'green' zone. An up arrow will show, then you select the gear.
So for the launch, you move the cursor over the "1", and click it when the tacho goes green.
Then you do the same for "2"
Then for "3"
Then for "4"
Then for "5"
You need to get the timing of the click right, as well as clicking the right number. As long as you click the right number when the tacho is in the green zone, you'll win.
The four car race and the up-and-back have moments where you automatically downshift, and if you read the text, he tells you what gear to select. So you go through 1, then 2, then 3, then 4 (I think for the up and back you go to 5, but I can't remember).
Then the MC tells you he has to shift to 2nd, so... shift to second.
Edit: Ignore gear "N" and "R". You don't need them.

I, on the other hand, would prefer to see them in a playful and appropriately pervy mud fight competing for the MC's attention, while he's chilling, drinking some ridiculously expensive cognac, smoking a Cuban cigar and getting head and something else from Nat, Patricia and Tiana, but hearing Jasmine and Veronica trolling, teasing and/or dissing each other on the mic pretending to be Eminem and Tupac combined into one person is a real funny idea that could make a decent extra scene for the lolz, if the devs consider doing one.
Jasmine does have the advantage of looking like the next big rapper chick and having the fitting attitude too... if she had a fat ass to go with them, she'd be the white version of Nicki Minaj or Megan Thee Stallion making millions by twerking and blessing the mic with her voice. The perv in me would be sooo happy to see this happen.
