To be fair, and to put a bit of polish on my own conscience I do throw some money around here and there when I can.

I can't keep them going full time because me and my wife share one and that comes out of our gaming fund. I'm heavily into my gaming so it's rare I have money to spare but I give some when I can, i'm only a part time pirate.

Personally I blame CDProjekt RED. I have to buy lesser games waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 and lesser games don't last long.
