Well, from spending some time on Discord, it's clear that they won't be changing course. It's also a bit of an echo chamber too where there's not a great deal of criticism and feedback and the one section that's quite active right now is derailed frequently with off-topic stuff and emoji dumps.SirD is already very familiar with backlash. His last update to his Polarity game caused a lot of it. From what I've heard it wasn't the first time either. What I've learned through it is, he simply doesn't care what others think about his direction.
I do see it, and trust me when I say that I share the same fear that this game will start making bad decisions with regards to the track of the story and what will happen with certain characters, but I'm trying to retain a sense of optimism here because there are a lot of good aspects here, not just the character models. I've been here before with games that had shaky starts but have gotten better over time, especially when the dev starts to open themselves up to constructive feedback and criticism, which I hope will happen here eventually. If this game continues in this direction, I garentee you there will be a massive walk away from this project and I know and understand that you agree with us on a lot of things, and that you just want everyone to wait and see, you're hoping for the best. All I'm hoping to achieve is to get you to see that there is a very good chance we won't get that outcome you're expecting. It's a great game, it has a lot going for it, it can still turn into a master piece, but not if the devs continue to walk with their eyes shut. And from experiences from the past I can only assume that's exactly what's going to happen.
As you say, people will vote with their money, and maybe this is what will open them up to new ideas and a possible course correction, especially since they've both bet all their chips on it.
