I'd suggest going back to those games then. This is a common trend across the entire AVN space. Either your game exists for a quick wank and the story is only there to set up the next sex scene or you're expected to release a robust amount of content where your decisions impact the story.

There are plenty of AI generated kinetic novels popping up all over this website that are on 30-60 day update cycles. That sounds right up your alley. Until someone can sit down with a dev on these actual AVN's, and not easily cranked out kinetic novels, to openly address with them why a 25-40% increase in content is now taking 100% longer to develop, this is going to be the standard.

I pointed out how one simple instance led to potentially weeks of wasted dev time and people on this site were still more interested in placing blame on individual devs. One inexcusable event potentially cost them 3 weeks and both devs talked about it like it wasn't out of the normal. How many other times does that happen in a single dev cycle? Major rewrites are necessary at times and can be excuses in some cases, but shit like that is never excusable.
whoooooooo, what are you doing ??

what about setting the world record for crying & bitching about it taking too long for free stolen stuff get here

When we're past 10 months since a release, and looking more probable for a year, you don't get to play the "People who complain are wankers" trope.
Sorry, man, but whether it's 10 months, 1 year, 2 years or more or even an abandoned tag or two, all of the meaningless whining would be no less A: Irrelevant B: Baseless or C: Predictable.

If it vents your frustrations, so be it. Live and be well.
If it's important to you to air those frustrations publicly so be it. Live and be well.
But don't lose your composure when people call it out as worthless, which it is. Those who feel that way carry having to read that stuff over and over ad nauseum as one of their frustrations, and they are as entitled to theirs as you are to yours.

It's like opening every post with 'the sun came out this morning!' and then repeating the same thing twenty times a day, day after day, year after year. Aggravates many. Accomplishes nothing. Y'know, the sun came out this morning!

Oh, and by the way, the sun came out this morning!

Damn, the jannies are out in full force today. I'll never understand zealously defending patreon scams. What causes this? Is it sunk cost?
It is not a ”scam” if you fall for it. I think there is frustration among some audience members the constant whining about Devs on a Pirate Site. Sure everyone may have an opinion or not understand why some may support such a Dev, but it is their money. Who cares?

Err... people falling for it is what makes it a *successful* scam.
By your logic, there are no scams. Only attempted scams.
You might as well have said "It's not murder if the person you unlawfully and intentionally attempt to kill is actually killed."
No, people falling for it are stupid IF indeed the Dev is purposefully stringing them along. Doesn’t make it a “scam.” There’s a difference. It is a “scam” if someone promises a product with no intent of providing it or delivering something significantly different then promised. In this instance there has been a product provided. A very good one. With several updates. It’s just that a new update has been promised for sometime, but not yet delivered. So, are you asserting that the Dev made a very good product with several updates with the intent at a later date to “scam” subs? Okie dokie.

Well, in general, financial pyramids are built in such a way - the bait is given to attract suckers, and then when referrals are made, more of them are gained, or left with a nose (and no money), or milked as long as possible. As far as I know, financial pyramids are considered fraud, although many have existed for a long time with a legal status (e.g. Oriflame). And all these pyramids are based on suckers who are not "cheated" at all, and who "see what they are giving money for", especially "everything is according to law and rules".
I am not saying that SirD is one of these pyramid creators, but your counterarguments do not fit.

I'm asserting nothing of the sort. I don't actually care about the whole "is the dev scamming his patrons" debate. I was merely pointing out that "It is not a 'scam' if you fall for it" is a contradiction.

I have several games that are releasing updates on ~3 - 6 month (at the most) cycle, and none of them are AI story-less fap-fodder. Very few ever get to even 9 months without an update. I( have one way over that limit, but if anyone here is following Killr7, they know the ctap he's going through. I've had 4 AVN's I follow go Abandoned since the start of this year alone. ALL of them were damn good AVNs, but they still are abandoned, and I now see the time wasted on them as worthless. So maybe, rather than bitching at me, AND mischaracterizing me, try telling the Dev to quit milking it, and either produce, or put it as abandoned as so damn many others are doing. The last two updates were far below the story quality that it began as. So why are we waiting nearly a year for what shows so little promise?

I don't think there is a paradox here at all. Nobody is paying knowing for certain they'll never get anything back (except some devs that pay themselves to make their patreon look more active). Many may suspect it's a possibility, but that's not the same thing as throwing money down the hole.

1.5 months between updates would be fantastic,,, as in it is from a fantasy land. Though in all honesty, Talothral's "Tribulations of a Mage" is updating almost that often, and is actually dealing with very heavy story content. But anything under 6 months, 8 tops if it's a good story (more if there is something like is happening to Killr7) is just fine. But a year telling people "It's coming next month" and nothing? I reserve my right to bitch about.

I'm wondering what is the maximum number of days that can be crammed into the concept of "a few more days"?
Definitely Alorth messed up something again, I don't know, like chewed on an already finished script or pissed in SirD's slippers.
