People like Sengoku Rance because it's set in Japan, and pretty much only that. The game has, objectively, the weakest story and gameplay of the newer games. Far, far inferior to Leazas and Zeth ones (3 -Fall of Leazas and 6 - Liberation of Zeth). For some reason, Sengoku Rance has also been the first title in the series for many people, and, perhaps, that has made them think more of the title, in general. I'm not saying Sengoku is bad... It's just that it has an annoying gameplay loop and the story gets confusing with too many variations and non-canon paths that you can start even during your first playthrough.
Please don't generalize something like this and project your thoughts onto others like me.

I like the game because of the strategy elements and also the free mode. It makes it feel waaaayyy less linear. All of which gives it a lot of replayability for me. What do you know....I like Kichikou Rance because the strategy elements. I later ended up patching it with an add-on and again I enjoy the free mode from that that gives a lot of replayability.

I'm sure there are many others that have similar reasons to me for liking Sengoku Rance and others that have their other reasons.

How do you get the Monkey Orb from the free battle that gets unlocked on the 3rd Chapter? The game says to let an enemy pass but it seems letting the "Gameobear" mobs pass to the far left doesn't count, do i bait the regular mob to the left? View attachment 2420310
What I did was to bait that box in the middle lane downwards with 1 unit while the rest of the party moved up the top and bottom lane. if you can can it to chase it that character to the top of bottom lanes, you can use the choke point and tank it so it scrolls off.

So quick question, seeing as how this game has "bad ends" for girls, does that mean by default this won't happen? Do we this time get a game where the girls aren't getting gang raped off-screen by characters out of our control? Really got on my nerves in previous games and I'd rather be forewarned if we are seeing that happen unavoidably again (I mean, the literal main girl of Magnum gets unavoidable gangraped by rabid church cultists, possibly to death with CG of her being necro-raped if you aren't quick enough? And not forgetting Koihime, a literal child....).

you have to send her to a certain battle, win the battle, but let her KOed.
then you have the option to see the bad end, or rescue her :)

I keep seeing people saying Rance 7 is THE best. I honestly can't understand for the life of me why people do seriously believe that.
Oh, that's easy. Sengoku Rance was the very first game in the franchise to see an English fan translation done back in.... I want to say 2012? And relative to the time, SR was miles ahead of anything else being produced at the time in terms of hentai or porn games. The game had actual gameplay, even if it was an ultra-streamlined turn based strategy game. The game had a large cast of characters that would steer into just about any aesthetic you liked and had an actual plot that was willing to be silly about as often as it wanted to be serious.

This was crazy, especially for the time. Most hentai games were either glorified graphic novels or straightforward methods of delivering smut to the viewers, SR was a hentai game that wasn't shy about also being a good game and having a decent (Silly? Ridiculous? Yes, absolutely. Entertaining? Yes) plot while still delivering on the promise of being an eroge.

Honestly sounds like you're chafing under the design of the game. Which is fine, but it just means the game isn't for you. It's pretty obvious why they added a time limit, ability flags and made the objective not to wipe squads but to win the momentum meter- that simple change allows for much dynamic design and doesn't reduce every single match to, "who has bigger numbers?" Also prevents certain units from going nuts- musketeers without a limit on firing would be busted. Suzume and Isoroku would be busted if they could just spam their penetrating attacks all match. Every play through of R7 would turn into a tedious snowball without those critical changes.

. Outside of that, it's just rance gallivanting around with his old girls finding new girls.
That's every Rance game. And to it's credit, Sengoku Rance starts it's plot as Rance being on vacation with Sill.

and so that's why rance 10 was the final game. Kanami confessed after all. a rather big character all the way from rance 1. finally after 9 episodes she finally confesses after some sweet talking from Rance.

that should have been a huge death flag to the series. but yeah. those who played the original would have known that this series has reaching its end and thus 10 became the end that it did.

for those wondering, don't skip on Kanami's 2nd h-scene. that's where the huge confession is and ultimately this series's end. glad that I played this, after being scared of the 400+ hour gameplay that is sengoku (i skipped 8 btw, heard many negative reviews).

A cheat table would be nice. Most values are simple 4 byte scans but sometimes it just doesn't work. I've found the skill point value for 12 different characters with ease but for whatever reason...the stupid blue boy mage is impossible. No matter how many points he has or times I scan, I can never get a value.

and even with this i was able to cheese a lot of fights thanks to kenshin + uruza + diviner combo. basically run everyone out of turns except your diviner so that he has all the turns for himself therefore wiping the entire army. as soon as i got that strat, sengoku became a piece of cake. never went past true route or tried the other difficulties though. just true route can easily eat 300+ hours already.

skill only need about 2 scan - before and after skill upgrade
the easier way to find it is... scan > change > scan > switch to other char > the other line will change according to current char's skill point
and the single value u looking for will stand out
but yep a table would be appreciate xD

Don't worry about it, just get the HMP points (which is very easy data to find), then convert them into skill points when in the skill distribution menu (you see it at the bottom left of the screen, it changes from "convert points to Gold" to "Convert points to Skill"). Lot easier than faffing around with trying to get a table sorted.
