But i liked it though! Plot and interactions were fun, it's just that gameplay sucks a lot. Like getting softlocked for not getting enough levels earlier and getting into a fight with Lil Avenger. Or getting softlocked for not knowing that you would need a Rance Attack for that eye boss. Or getting softlocked for being too weak to ever fight the final boss.

We probably don't even want NuAlicesoft to remake IV. What's the point when most of the team is gone and TADA isn't involved?
That's pretty much my point. Alicesoft is a shell of its former self and shouldn't have anything to do with the Rance series anymore. Even if Dohna Dohna looked great, it was all style and not a whiff of substance. And from what I recall, even the project leads from that title aren't at the company anymore.
I think they're hiring writers for NTR games now, too.
Yeah, he's the best. Unironically one of my greatest inspirations for getting into game design. Alicesoft sure as shit isn't going to carry on the legacy, others need to pick up the slack. Rance VI and Sengoku prove to me that porn games can become greater than the sum of their parts, especially VI. The games where he's only a supervisor are clearly lacking by comparison (the remakes, base Quest and 9), and you can immediately feel a massive quality jump in Quest Magnum once he corrects course in the expansion. I like all the games, but VI, Sengoku, Quest Magnum and Kichikuou are leagues above them. Hopefully X is as good as it's hyped to be.
Its funny because Rance in Rance 4 acts a little bit different if you go from Rance 03 to it instead of Rance III, after playing both Rance 03 and III i would argue Rance was like 20 times more asshole in the older games
Rance grew up + he met shizuka who threatens bodily harm when he misbehaves.
Shizuka never affects his behavior at all lol, nevermind that she constantly looks the other way and does absolutely nothing when he does bad stuff, it's only when he tries to do something to her that she retaliates
Getting ten games out of a franchise- never mind an eroge- is an accomplishment. It's actually a sign of integrity that they let the series end on the creator's own terms than milk it to death.
