Rance 03 has updated lore and story so it matches.
Rance 03 is way more polished, has way better graphics and mechanics.

I've played both Rance III and 03 (In original Japanese)
Thanks, i think i will maybe skip III and go to IV then i come back for 03 when it comes out in english

is Rance III good enough or should i wait for the 03 translation ?
Well you know, they do stuff like this:
  • In the original release of Rance II, the choice to kill KD is entirely optional, with Rance being able to legitimately answer all three of his questions and pass through non-violently as the riddle cat intended if the player so chooses. Rance 02, Rance II’s remake, instead combines the two options into one, with Rance agreeing to take the quiz only to quickly kill KD in frustration over being unable to complete it. KD is also shown recovering from his apparent death in Rance 02, whereas he is not suggested to survive being killed in the original.
So i don't think it would be an overstatement to say that it's two different games, and it might be worth it to just play both.

How is the gameplay in this and about how long does it take to complete a chapter?
It depends on the chapter

Rance 01 mine took 10 hours and so and vndb says 15h

Rance 02 i am still playing but vndb says its 8h7m

Then 3 is a bit longer and so on, they vary a bit but some of them can get quite long like Rance X and so

The gameplay of 01 and 02 are turn based, for the rest i think all of them are turn based too

This doesn't sound too hardcore. I could probably complete the trilogy over a month if I dedicated my weekends to it. I am currently over 100 hours into Monster Girl Quest Paradox and have just reached 50 percent completion.

Depends on your playstyle I suppose. I'm over 20 hours into Rance 01 and I'm guessing from the wiki I'm about half finished.
Have put over 40 hours into Sengoku Rance and have yet to beat it, though that one is designed to be played multiple times to get all the content. :)

Hi! I'm kinda new here and was wondering where should I start playing. Should I start here or can I play the remake/remaster? Getting confused with the redirected links from the post. English is not my native language sorry for that.

Play remasters, so Rance 01, 02, 03 and so on.
They got their story updated to match the latest lore.
You're lucky, since 03 is gonna release soon.

The numbering is pretty obvious, but there are some standalone games like kichikuou Rance.

With 03 just getting translated, you are lucky indeed.

You can go through 01, 02 and 03, though be aware that 01 and 02 are very basic and you may use a guide to get through the gameplay (though I found 02 fairly easy).

4 is the oldest game (since it didn't got a remake), so it has aged the worst. And 5 is a bad joke game. Not a bad idea to skip them if you don't get into them.

Of the three spin-off games, Kikuichi is fantastic, once you get used to its age. You can play it either after 3/4 or after 9, because it is a (retconned) finale game, so many plot lines in 6-10 are adressed here.

6 and 7 count among the greatest and they are alternatively also a great start to enter the franchise just because of their quality, despite the mild annoyance of joining in midway.

8 and 9 are okay and a bit of lackluster compared to 6 and 7.

10 is the final game, a juggernaut of a game and I hope to see it translated in 2030.

I hope TADA will return...
Even if it's meagre chance

Definite hype for 03 since 3 was pretty good, dunno if it'll manage to be better though. Good faring for 10 however.

First time since 2016 and Rance 6 release that they annouce a release date before announcing they finished translating, editing, testing, etc.

Would have liked more progress reports but not gonna complain, been waiting for this one for years. Hopefully a similar surprise announcement for Rance X in the near future.
