That's due to the fact that Enterprise is basically the most backwards compatible Windows version in existence outside of some guy's passion Franken-Windows build. You'd probably have a harder time finding something that isn't compatible than something that is.

Win10 and up can actually natively mount ISO files and have been able to for the past few years. Much less hassle and confusion now, especially for the less tech-literate users.

Right-click the file and select "Mount". It may-or-may-not run automatically depending on your settings, if it doesn't, navigate into the file (it should show up on the sidebar) like you would when accessing your C: or D: drive using File Explorer and run the installer located within.

Considering that one person here even with the programs could not mount the disk, what to talk about, so actually Win10 has a lot of things and I know it. They don't. But by the way, I wonder how people who don't know what a disk image is, who don't know what DirectX is, know about this old game. Or is there somewhere a top of “the most violent and terrible games”?

I mean, the news wrote articles about this game when it came out for being deplorable and "un-Christian" back when the general public was still pretty weeb-phobic. It's easy click material for a content creator to talk about and it has featured in a few lists.

It should work with English subtitles in Fullscreen ONLY (windowed is bugged, on 16:9 monitors it will be stretched).
You need to open it in YOUR REGION (DON'T use Applocale).
Also check your Registry - you need to set correct folder structure to play this game (error with no config file to open).

It took me 2h to test what dll combination will make it fully work.

EDIT October 05, 2022 about [VIRUS]: There is false positive virus alert by VirusTotal (_alt.dll is flagged by online Malwerbytes).
I tested it with Malwerbytes (premium trial, installed on my PC) and gave no positive raport :rolleyes: - files are clean.
Probably it's because antiviruses hates archives with .dll files.

How tf do I even play the game? I can only move the camera. The "action" buttons do nothing. And half of the text is broken and doesn't display correctly, including MC's name which is just "Æ." I'm using the fix DLLs and everything. Totally lost.

Welcome to the <2010 era of gaming. Especially the Japanese part. In general, if you open the game folder in the Start menu, you will see two files, FAQ and walkthrough. But that's just for the record. And so if briefly/lazy to read - action buttons work by clicking the right mouse button. To make the text was normal, read my previous posts, there you need to put a separate mod to translate the story using RL Harem 2. To use RL Harem 2 - you need to install (enable if you use Win10/11, in Windows components) .NET Framework 2.0. I think I've written all, if you have any questions - ask, but I myself have not completely passed the game yet (in the process).

bro can you help me, like ive already tried to reinstall the damn game like dont know how many times bro. it's always error when i tried to go to the option or play.

If I use the d3d9.dll from Voodoo, the game runs flawlessly.
If I use the d3d9.dll from the FPSfix, I get subtitles.

I can't get both at the same time. Does anyone know how to manage it?

EDIT: Managed it.
Earlier in the thread people mention going to SysWOW and editing permissions for the d3d9.dll file there.
I followed their instructions to get edit permissions and replaced that file with the one from Voodoo.
The install folder for the game has the d3d9 from the 'lag fix' for the subtitles.
Both are now working.

As far as I can see, the point is that it's a warning “for foreign users”, well that the game is only for Japan. Try installing the fixes, before that enable DirectPlay in Windows components. If it doesn't disappear (although it should, because this game is weaned from locale detection), then use any locale emulator.

Updated post for anyone who doesn't know how to install

1) Install the game (ISO - it's a disk image file, use Win10+ tool from a box for mount it (right mouse button on ISO and click "Mount"), or Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120%, or WinCDEmu)

2) Enable DirectPlay in Windows components, if you using Win10/11 (how to make this -
You must be registered to see the links
)

3) Download and throw the fix with subtitles in the directory of the game (here - https://f95zone.to/threads/rapelay-final-illusion.3115/post-15454366)

4) Open the Launcher and there will be a button “Subs”, click and play.

5) If the game does not run, try setting compatibility settings (WinXP, decide for yourself) and launching the game in a window and vice versa

6) If that doesn't help either, or "Subs" not appear, or you're using (damn) Win11 - so https://f95zone.to/threads/rapelay-final-illusion.3115/post-16030215 (I haven't tried it myself, don't ask me, it works for me without it)

Also disable other monitors for that game, if you use >1

How to play and what to do - written in the FAQ and walkthrough, they are in the game folder in the Start menu

However, I downloaded a long time ago and from another site, there to be a full localization - you need to put a mod on the in-game text, well, which is a visual novel. Fix with subtitles - it is needed for voice-overs. Install this (game script) using RL Harem.

You must be registered to see the links

For RL Harem 2 to work properly you need to install/enable (Win10/11, the same place you enabled DirectPlay) .NET Framework 2.0, and run this through administrator privileges.

Uncensored CGIs install too, it's my personal recommendation.

Hi-Res and other stuff - you decide for yourself. (after installing Hi-Res enabler, don't forget install proper Hi-Res whatever_you_want skins, otherwise you will discuss textures, for my example, vagina was from the old version, and the rest of the body was from the new one)
