AS OF v5.2.0:

The game scans for .bat files and steam_appid.txt in its base directory (where Ravager.exe etc are), and quits during intialization if it finds any as an anti-piracy measure.

For now, the easiest fix would be to use the .bat method but rename the file to .cmd, or launch a command prompt in said base directory (Ctrl+Shift+Right Click -> "Open PowerShell window here" in Windows Explorer) and manually run the command:

lib\py3-windows-x86_64\pythonw.exe Ravager.py

I've attached a bypass that works for the time being: Extract Ravager.cmd to the same folder as Ravager.exe and use Ravager.cmd to start the game.

IF you have used any other cracks/bypasses before on the same installation make sure to delete any .bat files and (files ending with) steam_appid.txt from both the base directory AND from lib\py3-windows-x86_64

Either your command prompt has the wrong working directory (i.e. you didn't open it in the correct folder) or your installation is missing files.

I suspect that an awful lot of the Act V content going forward is going to be about overcoming the cataclysm, so not triggering it might be a mistake.

This is deeply ironic, given that her theme is 90% heavy drum beats.

Edit: Cool theme, BTW. For a few times, I've found myself starting dialogue with Zizy, then pausing game and just doing other stuff while her theme is beating in the background. It's just so energetic, very fitting who Zizy is.

ISTR that they said that because the last update was a big one they would skip a month, so the next one will probably be on the first Sunday in February.

Strange, I tried my old .exe due to someone posting his old .exe saying it worked fine and mine worked fine as well. then i remembered it was a cracked one from the first DRM remover. it just worked without steam_appid.txt
i then redownloaded the first crack remover (steam fix) and threw that in fully and it still worked fine. it didn't detect the steam_appid.txt and just launched normally.

Here's the options files to enable console/cheats for 5.2.0 for those interested.
just place them in ravager/game

ingame press shift + D
then under variables you can see a list of stuff you could change
and under the console option you can put those in.
