She never actually falls in love at any point; she simply uses you as her reason to keep going. Maelys is deeply traumatized and doesn’t feel she has any reason to exist without a clear purpose, before, that purpose was killing us; now, it’s serving us. Because of that, you have to always refuse to have sex with her, every single time, even when she insists. If you give in, she completely breaks down and becomes catatonic. That said, I don’t rule out the possibility that one day she might genuinely come to care for the dragon, but that hasn’t happened yet.

What are you talking about? There’s literally a scene where we can tell her that we love her, and she doesn’t say the same. I just want to know how to get to the Restoration scene.

There's a scene where she's restored, but she ends up having her mind permanently altered by malice, so if you like her, I recommend not having sex with her.
"Too late, I already had sex with her. It’s a shame there’s no way to heal her without side effects. When you heal her with malice, it’s not the same — it feels robotic, as if she isn’t really herself."

Exactly, there’s nothing fun about this completely controlled Maelys. The appeal comes precisely from the feeling of her genuine transformation. That’s why I remember how impactful her dialogue was after she thought it through and said she had come to the conclusion that she would serve us. It worked so well because she herself states, in her own words, that she would do anything for the dragon now, even kill, or commit cruel acts, or… sexual ones. That sense of surrender and submission simply doesn’t exist if she loses her personality in the process.

I really don’t know what to think about this game.

I do really like all the branching and characters. I like the amount of moral choices. I like the character sprites (not so much the art style of the sex scenes). The first 3 chapters are great. Seeing the characters get developed through Ch. 4 was great to see. After Ch. 4, I have some issues with the story though. There is a significant tonal shift, which makes sense since it’s a new phase of the story, but certain things are difficult to accept/tangle with.

Especially on the Cataclysm route at the end of Ch. 5 Act II, when the story begins to shift significantly towards a darker tone. I mean, the sun is gone. Swaths of land, entire settlements, get twisted or vanish. People hallucinate and the fabric of society breaks down. That is basically also what we are told will happen in case of a cataclysm, but what I find challenging is where do you find a stable middle ground to continue caring about the characters? As far as I can tell, we have basically nothing to mend, or even treat, anything regarding the cataclysm. In a few weeks, the entire world could end (or everyone is going to starve because all the farmers have gone mad). I haven’t allied with Mallager or the Proteans, but I imagine they would only put their own spin on the apocalypse instead of preventing it.

Then there is Malice as a central character. She always seems to agree with the changes, or finds them amusing in some way. She clearly doesn’t care for “mortals” or their suffering, but how, do I ask, how would such a character be relatable? Where is that sweet little girl from Ch. 4? How can I care for her if she doesn’t seem to care for others? Because in the last chapter she acts like a sociopath. She gets upset that we disagree with all the bullshit going on, with an entire town drowning in the ocean. As if we misunderstood her in some way, but I don’t see how?

Definetly something to think about until the next update.

Interesting comment. I like people who try to dig deeper into the dynamics of the story, and well, I share the same feelings. It feels like everything is heading down a path of hopelessness. I mean, for now we can’t really see the consequences of our choices reflected in something like “the kingdom will become poorer because of this,” but imagining the future, it seems that almost every choice eventually leads to the nation’s downfall. The dragon promised liberation from the oppression of the former ruler, yet look at what we have now: a cataclysm creating chaos across the world; a king who married his own daughter and accepts aberrations as normal.

So what do I believe? That the cataclysm is a reflection of Malice’s own will. The changes seem to satisfy her because they are indirect manifestations of reality itself being altered, so much so that she is probably the only one who can stop it. As for her personality, I like her the way she is. Malice is not an ordinary being; she met her own father before she was even born, and she prevented her mother from becoming pregnant a second time before she herself had even grown up. In a way, that adult Malice is who she truly is, the childhood phase was just that… childish. This selfish, narcissistic, sadistic side, with an Electra complex (an excessive need for affection, love, and validation from her father), is part of her, and I like her that way.

However, that doesn’t mean she should be free to do whatever she wants to the world and bring misery upon it. She promised change, not destruction. I hope we can reach a different ending for this world, one without the suffering we’re seeing now.

Bruh I really need of an updated Android version I got the game on steam for my PC but it's just not the same. I'ma actually wondering how hard would it be to try to simply convert it from my PC to Android or if I even can.

As it's a Ren'Py game, it should be possible. You'll need the Ren'Py SDK and the Android Support (RAPT) tool, both downloadable from here:

When you need to goon as a dragon so bad you learn coding just to do it.
Can't be harder than that time I learned how to make mods for Hoi4 just to make a sex mod for the game.

Can anyone reaffirm that latest version, especially this one, is a false positively flagged as malware?

Your theory sounds likely. I really hope we get a route to at least minimize the suffering. As it stands, if you aren’t 100% on board with Malice’s opinions on the Cataclysm, then you are on a direct collision course with her imo. Her father is basically the only thing anchoring her. If that relationship breaks, then everyone is mega screwed.

I do wish for a route where we can come to an agreement that doesn’t involve 99% of humans dying after a few months. I am kind of a softie and like to max out mercy, so I am a bit biased when it comes to the consequences for what we do in Ch. 1–4. But I don’t find it unreasonable for her to at least consider other options. We can already kinda “fix” Maelys on her knight route, although she has completely different problems. Maybe we just need a proper one-on-one with her xD.

I also hope for a Naho “happy” route or smth. Maybe a way to free captives that we don’t want to sacrifice or break.

This is the version of her that underwent brainwashing and body modification by Malice.
Ah ok, that explains why I never saw that. I thought it was part of one of these updates or something. Welp that's unfortunate, I thought it was a normal furthering of the relationship you had with her. Well that is a no from me then. I like her character and that whole bodyguard arc as is. If someone confesses to my dragon...

It has to come from the non mind altered heart.

One thing I have to admit is that these authors are so firm in their convictions that they said the werewolf girl and Valzira would ALWAYS hate you, and they REALLY do hate you.

Which makes me think that the route we have with Malice isn't going to end well for the world, since throughout the game everyone told us that having a naga was a terrible idea.
