Kinetic Novels are typically not my thing, but Ravenous may have changed my mind. The storyline was thought out well, and builds suspense with a little bit of erotica thrown in.
I feel like there are lots of missed "opportunities" for the MC to take advantage of, however, I grew to appreciate the fact that it wasn't in the MC's nature to do so.

It's another dev making the game what THEY want to make. Not what YOU WANT them to make.

I expected another porn game - was surprised with an absolute gem of a horror story that embeds the sex as part of the story like some movies are kind-of trying but don't deliver because they can't really do porn scenes... Absolutely love it and am eagerly waiting for the next release

I know they're "required" to put that disclaimer in their games. But this is the only one I've ever seen where it AUTOSAVES on that screen. So every time you launch the game, it overwrites whatever your latest oldest save was. And if you re-launch multiple times because maybe you're trying out custom scripts or edits, it can overwrite all of your autosaves with something entirely useless. And before anybody says, "Oh boo-hoo, cry me a river. Just manually save and STFU." The point of having autosaves in a Ren'py game is they help you keep track of where you left off better than manual saves do. Especially when you're coming back months later after an update and the timestamps on your manual saves are all screwed up or disorganized.

My partner and I have both been following this game's development quite closely, including the interactions between the developer and the posters of this forum. I can safely state that LamentEntertainment is, by most accounts, not overreacting in their negativity to the, ahem... 'feedback'. Far too many posters here have complained about rather obvious aspects of the game, even despite the fact that the majority - if not all - of these aspects have been readily visible to newcomers in the first post of the thread. As such, I should think they have no excuse nor reason to criticise these aspects of the game simply for 'being there', as it were.

There have been numerous times where I would launch a Ren'py game after having not played it for a while and all my saves will have the same timestamp. It's usually after installing an update because as we all know, these hentai devs can't help but fuck something up with their games. Either by taking their stories too seriously until they write themselves into a corner and have to do a reboot (hint hint wink nudge), or by breaking something in the code and making players have to start over.

You are correct. Sometimes those slip past all of us. That's one of the main reasons we are having a final proofread before the Arc 1 final release.

Got to laugh at folks like that most recent review. Because someone else (not the dev) uploaded their work to this site, it must now contain enough smut scenes to please the trolls out for wanking fodder. Doesn't matter if the dev was making a porn game or a story that contains some sex scenes. It's on F95, it must be a proper porn game with all the sex all the time... Grow up folks. If you just need a wank, hit up pornhub or something. Visual Novels should have a story. Otherwise, it's just a slideshow with extra steps.

Some take longer then others to work on the game due to various reasons and some like to have the thought of dragging out development time and make up various excuses to do it and not accusing the Lament dev's of it at all. but some devs have the mindset to just
And drag out content with some would say small teaser updates after years of waiting to drag out the content further and get you baited/hooked to see more, and they go back to their vacations again for a few more years till it's time to bait again later with a small yet interesting update that will hook you again and maybe pay them.

Agreed I would've been plowing the mom and sister demanding answers as I did it soon as I caught them in that awkward moment he caught them in near the start of the game and not run out. Though I guess it's something that they wanted to hide from the Mc as I guess to them, they didn't want to have to do it either but later have to tell him about it but still keeping things vague. Sort of to keep him in the dark but still keep him satisfied with an answer to hide other things. And he has that stupid spell put on him so he is a bit more understanding to people so they can tell a lie, and he is forced to believe it during that scene where he confronts them. He does seem kind of the weak Mc type, but yeah, probably due to the spell, but guess if I was in his shoes and didn't end up having sex with the two before, I would be a bit on the aggressive side with the two to get answers out of them and stuff and probably would have told them I wanted in on it right at that moment and going forward but bottom line I guess we can blame it on him not wanting to cross the line a lot of times and maybe that spell holding him back a bit at times.

The spell, on the top of other things makes him hornier, not otherwise.

Find me 10 males on Planet Earth who truly understand the hormonal 180's of teenage girls and I will be impressed. (Not know-enough-to-take-advantage-and-manipulate "groomer" levels of understanding, but real understanding that could make them stable and happy at all times.)

Find me an 18 yo that when confronted by a hungry cougar would actually have any hope of an idea of what to actually do. Most would freeze if given the option to ride any of the milfs in this (and most games). Same with the teens. We love to play a big game, but when women actually call us on that bravado, it tends to vanish.

Having said that, MC does blue ball himself on a few occasions. But most of the ones where he isn't actively running from a potential sexual encounter more come down to the day cycle of most games. It's as though there is a morning, afternoon, night framework and all events take one entire slot to occur. A rough example, not necessarily in this game but common in ones like it: MC wakes up and goes down the street, that's the entire morning slot gone. Nothing else can occur. The entire afternoon is taken up by the five minute chat had at the neighbours. Even though there are still heaps of actual hours in a day in which other things could happen. And then the night is spent investigating the mystery. Any outside that wouldn't have room in the slot either.

It's a frustrating trait of game development when progression and story are important to the game. You either get one day per update and any number of things can occur in that one day. Sometimes it's two or three and sometimes it's a dozen. Depends on each event. Or you get the above mentioned type of strict slots. Each slot can only ever be used once in a single day, but not all slots have to be used. But this forces events to take place over multiple days and tends to give gameplay like this has. Where it takes multiple days for an MC to do things that for a normal human being could be done over the space of a single day.

You get more 'days per update' in this style. But it tends to amount to the same amount of content in number of scenes. So it's really just a feel thing as to which a dev uses. Both have pluses and minuses. Some that use the Day structure can feel like they drag if a day has less than expected. But the story can start to drag in the Slot style.

I love games of both styles too. And I have really enjoyed this one. Looking forward to Arc 2. There is a lot of sexy times promised to occur. MC seems to have gotten past the firmware issue in his cock and worked out how to aim it now. Should be some veryfun scenes coming up.
