You could become your own hero by joining the dev.:cool::cool:
if I can buy it just use CNY,i bought many games before, but I doubt if the dev has received a portion of it,because maybe the sellers just get them from F95,since I found out about this website, I have saved a lot of money

OK, just finished the 095Beta

Not normally a fan of non-interactive VNs without choices and repercussions, but this one is EXCEPTIONALLY well written. I am glad to have read above, where future updates will involve choices. Models are excellent, story is original and well told, the plotline is gripping.

Well done Dev. Well done indeed.

IMO choices are overrated. They may result in "extra" content by having multiple paths, but I'm curious how many players really play more than 1 or 2 paths in games with several? Personally I find the repetition exceedingly boring and would much rather play a new game or just watch some extra animations using a gallery unlocker. I get that some people enjoy that sort of thing, but there are lots of games like that out there, and complaining that a good VN doesn't have choices is missing the forest for the trees.

My concern as a fan of this game is that often in games where devs try and appease the vocal minority asking for choices, the progress of the original/main/important storyline tends to inevitably stall. Hope that doesn't happen here, but I worry because the story progression has already been slower than in most games. Normally that is not at all a bad thing (and can often be a good thing that means better writing), but when a slow-progressing VN suddenly tries to add branching... :( Flying a plane requires a minimum airspeed to prevent engine stalling; flying at slower speeds close to the minimum is perfectly fine...until you try and do a bunch of unnecessary tricks and reduce your airspeed below the minimum and stall the engine..

Personally I think it's a good idea to implement some choices in a VN, such as allowing players to skip certain sex scenes if they contain fetishes they're not fond of (bestiality, for instance.) But generally speaking, we both (Mal and Liz) agree that choices are overrated. Usually they don't really amount to anything, and only rarely do they dramatically affect the story.

And speaking for myself personally, I can't remember a single (porn) game in which I've gone back and "played it completely differently" just to see the rest of the contents. As you pointed out, I (again, speaking only for myself) generally tend to just use a gallery unlocker or such if there's something juicy hidden behind a branch in the story.

I've tried once or twice to play a VN differently, but it's like opening Skyrim and telling yourself you won't play a stealthy archer, lol.

And Ravenous already catered to the avoidance crew with the Content Filter options. I guess the choices in Arc 2 will amount solely to a single-character avoidance feature that would be a pain to implement at a settings level like the age-based ones. Cutting out a character entirely would lead to all kinds of weird story problems. But just giving folks a way to avoid them being naked in front of them is ok I guess.

I'm just going to be super curious about what happens in the divergent course. Coz Imma wanna bed every single one of these pretty ladies.

I dont know if people arent getting what I'm saying. Perhaps I haven't explained it well enough, and thats my fault.

This story will remain linear.
The choices will be for skipping things and for single scene alternates from time to time.
I have always wanted choices that offer small doses of different content.
You wont miss sexual activity with a character, due to any choice that you make, unless you choose to avoid certain characters scenes.
Some will be "skip the scene but it still happens" and some will be "choose to say yes or no"
I'm not going to make you choose between 2 characters when u are interested in them both.

As for alternate scenes/content:
I know that there are people out there hat think that pointless choices are...well...pointless...
However, to me, they are added flavor to the story.
If you don't replay games to see alternate scenes, that's fine. I understand. I don't either.

The choices that will be implemented will have no consequences, nor rewards.
Just different scenery along the way from time to time.

If there are any other questions or concerns about this, I would be happy to answer them.

You were clear enough - some people just lack the ability to comprehend unless spoonfed like a child.

yes you will. lol

I have played a few with a different selection. Not generally for just a different LI, but for taking the MC down a different moral path. Play him as the good guy once, play as a basically good guy with the sexual morals of an alley tom, play him as an evil prck with no qualms about hurting folks physically/emotionally provided it advances his own selfish interests. Granted, that takes a lot from a dev to develop those differing paths, and I dont so much mind if a choice locks out other LIs. Every door we open, does tend to close others.

I agree with your other comments about choices, but I am happy with Lam's explanation of them; it sounds like he is adding choices as a selector for repeatable content rather than a branching storyline, so (y) (y) from me.

But the quoted comment above I call shenanigans on. This game has ticked like a fine Swiss clock. Sure the updates are small, but a Daz game that updates every few weeks and almost never misses?! That's amazing. I have zero problems with the developers production rate.

His last clarification eased most of my concern - probably I got a whiff of 'branching' and trauma from other lost games got the better of me.

And I don't care all that much when updates are "small" as long as they are regular - it's the fact that virtually nothing much new has happened in what seems like a hot minute. Maybe talking (a lot) with Nana was the plan all along, as well as continually delaying the attack on the town, and so on, but it feels to me like story progression has stalled and most of the built up tension has dissipated.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
I'm hoping it's just the calm before the storm.

My point was that I'm fine with the dev figuring the story out, but if all sorts of lateral storylines become the focus then that often provides the excuse an author needs to stop working on the harder job of pushing the story forward.

"Hey, what's that place with all the shit on the walls...?"

Just wanted to say, that I know exactly where I am going with this.
As for the attack on the town, there's hardly anybody left that's not dead or in the very large family:
If you're hoping for people being dragged out of there homes and mutilated, well...you may be disappointed.
I have to keep in mind, that I'm going to need the townsfolk, for the rest of the story, or else that puts a very tight leash on what could be possible in the future.

I have never liked, and never will favor a single plotline story, when I'm writing something.
This gives me many ways to intersect, and create possibilities that may turn out interesting, or fun.
Arc 2 will also have a few stories happening at once.
This will also alleviate the only topic on every girls mind being "i like the mc, i wanna work toward sex with him."
That was a pretty heavy mistake on my part in the first arc.

These characters need to have lives and interests of their own that are happening when they aren't interacting with the MC.
However, that DOES NOT throw the romance and lewdness planned for this arc, out the window. rest assured of that.
I want to show a part of all of the LI's lives and what they have had to deal with, or what kind of background they have.
I feel like this makes for more interesting possibilities as well.
Plus, I like to get to know my characters a bit more this way. It helps with their decisions, and way of thinking.
I feel like I have managed so far with all of the characters that have had their lives examined a bit or have dealt with certain traumas.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

I just wanted to address any concerns of possible aimlessness.
There is none.

I mean, at least one of the LIs was also putting sone secondary effort into banging her daughter, so there's that....

That's actually a good point. Had you spent a bunch of time developing secondary character depth the plot advancement would have slowed even more, so that's a tough pickle.

That makes me curious though. If I may ask you a game development craft question-- If you had to start over again and could remedy the "heavy mistake", how would you do it? Would you just put additional content in early, or replace some of the current content with character-building, or reduce the size of the cast? And if one of the latter to, what/who would have been mostly likely chopped (or shifted to Arc 2 or whatever)?

OK, you're talking about narrative pacing and story development, not quantity of content. That's a valid (if subjective) critique, I withdraw the declaration of shenanigans.
