eu sei , mais isso tinha que ser feito na proxima atualização , onde ele diz que vai quebra as tradução MTL

I know, but this had to be done in the next update, where it says it will break the MTL translations

This rant remind me of the dev who has forbid his players of using cheats to achieve what they wanted to achieve, he even went further than that and wasted development time on creating anticheat. Don't be like that. The players/customers are independent enough to decide for themselves how they want to play your game. After all we all different and what the developer wanted doesn't necessarily have to be interesting to the player, he can instead find something else that he find interesting in in the game. If person doesn't want to learn new language, you wont force him to do it, by forbidding translation. The only thing you will achieve is contempt.

Let's take the biggest market of the adult games here - Japanese games. There is no way, that professional teams ever translate them all. And I doubt anyone will decide to learn Japanese to play these games, cuz Japanese language as any other Asian language much harder to learn for person who never used hieroglyphics in his native language. So only thing remains is MTL's and manual editing, if the game is really worth it. That's why, if people like your game, maybe someone will even decide to correct the MTL and you will get more support in the end of the day.

SharkVampire is right.
That being said, I think you, Captain, can stop responding to the MTL people above; you've already explained why you don't want it and won't get more out of feeding the trolls. It's up to the crowd now to decide if they respect your wishes and reasoning or if they like Y better than X and think you should speak for yourself.

Do not force the developer to spend time translating. I want to live until the fifth day with Keisuke.

Dude, I'm Brazilian, my 60 games translation, was made using a program and it's all MTL, even my 2 official game translation and MTL, do you know how hard it is difficult to translate a Russian game? There is no way to do this in the normal way, you need to attract MTL, if you don't want to pay a proficient translator, you need to accept a third, which requires nothing to do this translation, they just want to play better to understand the story and share with the others
I'm Russian, I did translations, including puns and the like. And I also saw manual translations from Russian into English, which made me sad (in movies, in games, in books, and so on). I don't know about you in Brazil, but translation always makes things worse. I especially don't see the point of translating from an international language when many people read VN just to learn the language with interest.

I'm all for player agency in the vast majority of cases (just look at how many customization options this game has) but playing a machine-translated version of this extremely text-heavy game isn't an acceptable enough approximation to playing the game in English in my strong personal opinion. I have seen how garbled the output from machine translation can be with a wide variety of languages.
Just this week, I got into an argument with people attempting to play a Japanese RPGmaker game with an English machine translation, and to prove a point, I put a few short paragraphs of spoken dialogue through Google Translator and DeepL and then translated them back. The output was, in a loose sense, legible, although it lacked any of the original's tone or pacing, several sentences were grammatically and syntactically broken, and it made some shockingly terrible substitutions, the funniest being "animal rights activists" getting translated to "zoophiles."
Maybe I'm being overly controlling of my game, but I've spent a good chunk of my life working on it. I am proud of the current results and where it is going, and I want readers to experience the game with all the flavor and zest of the native language, not some watered-down, diluted, and flavorless machine translation.

Besides, all of these arguments about "trying to give the game a wider audience in my language" are in bad faith as every single person making it has admitted that they don't like this game and/or has called me racist/xenophobic. They're not here to share this game but to shit on it. Everyone here speaks English at a higher level of fluency than the level of fluency a MTL would produce a translation.

Do you see the game reviews? they complain about the poor writing ,boring dialogues and unnecessary conversations , what an irony!
I don't know about that, dude. This game is clearly doing something right as it's making me enough money on Patreon to be my sole source of income.

The fact that the person who translates your game admits that he does not like it does not mean that there may be someone who does like it.
But xenophobe if you are.
I understand perfectly what you are saying thanks to the automatic translation, what a difference that makes with your game.
Do you think I'm going to learn English just because I want to play your game?
And if the game is in Russian? What do I do, learn Russian?

By the way, the quality of machine translation improves if you write correctly in your language.

I understand that you care about having certain quality standards, but let's be serious... who starts manually translating indie porn games?

If you post on this site you have signed up an "easy" user base but the game will always be touched by everyone. compressed, mods, translations.

I will give my opinion for the last time
nothing justifies not allowing translations of a game
it's all cheap excuses
Whether the translation is better or worse, and whether they want to use it, is up to whoever wants to use it. we are talking about a porn game, not the bible.
I translate the game for those who want to play it and don't understand the language.
honestly, I can not understand how there are people who pay people like you monthly, having games a thousand times better

I think you are not being fair with the developer, his ambitions, apart from earning a lot of money with the game, is to start carving out a career as a candidate for the Nobel Prize for literature, and of course, as he is going to allow such a literary wonder as the texts of his game to be made automatic translations ....

Hey folks,

After cooling off and sleeping on it, and reading more calmly-worded arguments in this thread, I had undone the edited lines of code that enforced English text. After all, while I hold myself to a high standard of writing, this is just a porn game, and at the end of the day... who cares? I mean, the machine-translated script can't be that bad, right?

But then a bilingual reader (who is from South America, so asinine accusations of xenophobia don't apply) with fluency in both Spanish and English checked the machine translation ♋︎ PaℓØsℓi☢s ♋︎ posted out of curiosity and shared her findings with me, which I am quoting here with their permission in italics:

the menu from the get go is badly translated

span1.png
"salto de historia" and "información mundial" are wonky but understandable, "visor de sprites" I think the MTL is lucky that in the spanish gaming community the term sprites has been borrowed from english as some others
but CHEATS is completely lost in translation, not only does it mean the acronym as expected from MTL, it translates the word and makes it seem the tab is actually for cheating in the game or something.
the options menus only has a couple issues, as you already see the illegibility of the options on the right

span2.png
but "unseen text" got tranlated as invisible text (think you could see that one easily), "after choices" to "después de las opciones" is wonky but passable. on the right there's a couple wonky ones like "información mundial" again and "solo sustentador" for "only sustainers".
lol it didn't even translate the options in the sprite viewer, and the part that it did translate is fine except... "gloom" as "melancolía" is basically just a dictionary tranlation, as you can imagine it means melancholy in spanish.

span3.png
ok the first message is mostly comprehensible except the first sentence translates assets to activos as if it meant banking assets lol. I'm in for a ride.
span4.png
ok the next issue and I expect it to come up a lot is that it misgendered the door, when Zach's door doesn't close and he forces it calling it stupid it uses the masculine form of stupid when it should be the feminine form since doors are feminine in gramatical gender, this happened in this case because the sentence was split in 2, but it gives prelude to the game commiting upcoming mistakes which may not be as passable...
if Zach sounded verbose before, he just straight up sounds like an alien here, and I am a couple sentences ahead and it continues.

span5.png
funny thing is... Zach is already talking as if she was a woman, using first person adjectives in feminine form. accidentally based?
span6.png
it's still wonky from here and Zach constantly flips his/her gender in their internal monologue... unexpectedly relatable lol. I think a live review of these issues would be more fun I'm getting kinda bored
span7.png

It's so much worse than I thought it was, and this is just the menus and less than a minute into the game!
Spanish was a language that I had assumed could be machine translated the most coherently from English given the U.S. government's funding on attempts to do so, but I am now convinced more than ever that machine translation is not acceptable for end users. If you cared about this game enough to download it, play it in its native language.

And since asking users nicely not to do something never works on F95zone...
Do not post machine translations of this script. Not only will I be enforcing code in the game that will prevent them from working and asking mods to remove posts with them given that unauthorized edits are against the licenses of this software, you'd be sharing writing that wouldn't be accepted in a middle school of the country that natively speaks the language you are butchering.

Or I could just replace all of the downloads right now with versions blocking unauthorized translations... which is exactly what I did. By all means, keep attempting to distribute a MTL of the game, as I'd be very interested to see if you could make them still work!
For the record, it took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to do this. How long will it take you? Is it worth your time to continue harassing me, or are you going to give up and stop offering readers bleach from my cups and telling people it's tequila?

look... you're already boring me...
I'm going to do you 2 favors
1-check your game for errors (I don't understand why your patreons don't tell you)

Sin título.png

2-you shouldn't underestimate me (you don't know me)... because I have translated games with Unreal, unity, godot, visionaire engines and dozens of engines much more complicated than open source python, give up now and don't waste your time.
You say that I used a program to translate... etc etc... well, if you inform yourself, you'll know that I created that program together with a friend. and now all countries and languages use it. you're not talking to a nobody

let's be serious, I don't know what could matter to you that they make a translation of your game so that other people can play it and value it

honestly... I don't give a shit about your game, everyone agrees that it's a very bad and boring game
I only translated it because of your prohibition, which seemed ridiculous to me (I haven't translated a Renpy for months)

there are dozens of DEVS who thank us for translating their games
honestly... here the only fool is you... you don't even realize
