As much as I hate when devs do this, it really feels like it is keeping up the quality on this game

I hated that the rich friend route was cut but I want the developer to focus on the routes.

Been a long while since I played this last. Got 3 questions.
1. Has there been any progress?
2. Has whoever the rich guy supposed to be been put in yet?
And 3. Has there been a pick everybody route option yet despite the phone fairy telling us not to? (Doubt it) blonde girl, blonde guy, whoever rich guy is and mom/family?

1. I don't know when the last time you checked was, but here is

   which has dates for releases. There has not been an update for ten months because I've been sick with a combination of cat scratch fever mononucleosis (as I have detailed

   ). I'm still working on the game when I can and have been able to pull longer days more frequently and consistently, but I am still struggling badly with exhaustion and disorienting brain fog. As my doctors have explained it to me, the cat scratch fever and mononucleosis shared an infection with fleas getting into my cheap apartment, but because the cat scratch has an incubation period of less than two weeks while mononucleosis' is four to six weeks, my immune system was heavily weakened by the former as the latter spread deep into my spleen and lymph nodes. I genuinely hate being in this limbo and feel the agony of my lack of output more than anyone, but this game has taught me time and time again that it is far easier and faster to make sure I do something right (or at least the best I can get to that) than it is for me to push through with sloppy work that under-delivers which I have to go back to edit extensively.

   but in short, they are:
   1. Despite searching for months, I couldn't find any male sprite artist who could match the quality of at least the Keisuke sprites (and that artist signed with a webcomics publisher shortly after their completion with an exclusive contract, i.e., he can't take on any commercial-use commissions while in their employment).
   2. The route garnered very little interest from readers as it was hard to sell the idea for a route with a darker tone that focused on a toxic mutual "I can fix him" relationship, Zach's own misogyny, and his willful embracing of the worst parts of himself (e.g., being dishonest, manipulative, impulsive, selfish, and egotistical).
   3. The route had shakier foundations than the rest. I didn't quite know where I wanted to take the story even if I had a clear idea of the themes I wanted to focus on, such as:
      • Confronting misogyny and sexism by showing how it hurts both women and men from the perspective of two people who get upset with each other for having a different type of sexism than their own.
      • The bullshit of the whole alpha-beta-omega-sigma status and insane banality from those chasing for a coveted status that largely means nothing when it's artificial and requires effort to maintain.
      • The dynamics of two talented young adults desperate to make a name for themselves on their own terms as they each fall into a trap of ending up more and more like their worst parent the harder they push themselves toward their ideas of success.
   4. My health is utterly abysmal and I need to get this game done. My doctors keep being vague about my prognosis because I have such an atypical presentation of

      that it's just impossible to say anything about it confidently, but I could be running on less that five years. Diving into a route that few would want to read and which had significant obstacles for even getting off the ground would require so much time and effort which I just don't think I can afford when it already feels like I am on a tightrope that could snap without warning.
3. It's not in the game yet and will likely not be for at least a year as I have to work out who the characters are a bit more and come up with good ways to showcase the story I want to tell, but I have a loosely planned idea for a shorter route of Zach contacting Britney and Keisuke for help (and all that it entails) without telling them what really happened to him.
   Zach faces issues from the start as he as already lied about each person to the other by telling Keisuke that Britney was a hyperactive otaku theater kid whose confession he turned down because he knew a relationship with her would be trouble and telling Britney that Keisuke was a boorishly womanizing meathead who Zach had to bail out of trouble more times than he could count, but it would see Zach having to juggle different lies he told to each about what happened to him without either realizing the different stories they got told. Britney was told a succubus stole Zach's masculinity and he needs to have sex to get it back because she's a chuuni who Zach knew would take that kind of bait, while Keisuke had to be told that Zach had a spontaneous mutation that changed his sex because Keisuke is very wary of even hints of supernatural forces, he is bad enough with science that he has no real way of contradicting what Zach told him despite it being so obviously bullshit, and it's a know fact between the childhood friends that Zach's biology has always been kind of weird between his red eyes that are so sensitive he practically has night vision, his very pale skin than never tanned yet never burned in the sun, his great cold tolerances, a physique that never looked anything but skinny and weak until Zach came back from a year of traveling the globe on a trip that saw a lot of backpacking, hiking, and tests of endurance, and maybe even Zach's intelligence.
   I am excited to write this route, but I am still figuring out the details, such as to how I am going to balance Zach in a relationship with a chivalrous yet mildly womanizing jock and a relious theater kid who is a borderline androphobic lesbian (while not taking the easy way out of making it an open pseudo-polycule given how everyone involved has a rather monogomous view of sex, dating, and romance), how all three of these people interact when they are in a room together, how Britney and Zach will fight over Zach, how Zach manages to repeatedly hide Ai and re:/Dreamer from both of his friends, and why and how of Zach's mom getting involved. I honestly just need to write these charactersmore to get a clearer picture of those parts.

"Running on less than five years" and you still give a shit enough to keep working on a game? Mad respect. TBH, if I were in that condition, I would have a ton of other things on my bucket list that would get priority.
