Renpy? What the fuck? Renpy is not even good for visual novels anymore. I fail to understand why people treat it like the God of Games. Every fucking renpy game installs between 80 and 300 MB of libraries which are largely IDENTICAL. It's the most stupid game framework ever made.

I think it's a case preference. many started out playing renpy, so got used to that. I know renpy is very flexible and moddable.
Unity has some advantages. It's really how it is used. Games like The Genesis Order and Timestamps have very good interfaces and use non-renpy engines.

I hope that the devs will keep to their word because the game quite frankly looks like a budget version of Honey Select 1 at the moment. Fingers crossed that the project becomes great by the end of the year or next.

As long as the game has a skip option I'm happy. Unskippable text is a no go for me because the dialogue ain't always good.

There is more to an engine than how good interface is... Frankly Ren'Py is a very simple engline, it can't do 3D, can't even do 2D to be honest, it's made for VNs which aren't really games. There is just no comparison... You can make AAA games in Unity (and Unreal), the only limitation is the skill of the dev to develop it (and most can't even code, so no wonder so few people use Unity).
