You are onto something. She is clearly too interested now. Most likely MC is the reason she is now so active. I doubt that she is doing things simply to hurt Sharon, as she is going beyond what she has done... and the only thing that changed in Sharon's life was MC. Other words, why is she active now?
The more I think, the less I think that Astrid is Sharon's Sire.
