THIS is one of the many reasons I love this story.
There is virtually no sex, yet the story is so compelling that it draws you in, including the pop culture references and humor., and keeps you actively interested in more.

I didnt understand the part about hunt with a flamethrower, but i think you are missing my point. I like Myths and Misteries, but you are looking at this behind the 4th wall. The protagonists got 0 information from the skalds, absolutely nothing, and since they spent their boon, they spent it for nothing.

Now you, as spectator, got food for speculation. That's it, but you are not the MC or Sharon.

The story didnt move forward either with the skalds, again, was just food for speculation but that doesnt move the story forward.

So, we didnt get any kind of action, and we didnt move the story forward, but the worst thing, is that during the first two episodes of this game, we (as the protagonists) had an agenda and were working on it. We were trying to anticipate the moves of others and act accordingly. We moved from an active role to a passive one. Sharon went from trying to avoid Astryd and Marcius traps, to buying chairs...

Since we are in Scottstown we are doing nothing. We have a major danger, bigger than in the previous episodes, and its the moment of the story were we are doing nothig at all, except when pressed by Markus.

I think you got me wrong. I really liked the build up and story of the first two episodes, but i think that changed on Episode 3, and it is my opinion that the character personality and story of the two first episode was vastly better than the one in Episode 3.

Andrew wont find anything in a google search of that name, and if he does, that would involve even worse writing, seriously. If Andrew unravels the mistery with a google search, that is crap.

I already said it, Marcus is the only one behaving in a way that makes any sense and that has continuity with the previous 2 Episodes. Sharon and the MC are NOT behaving like they did in the Episode 1 and 2, and that change in personality for no reason is bad.

Anyone, i already gave my feedback, i dont see a point in continue with this discussion

Ah Juan, if I got you wrong, I apologize.
Character development often means change. Lots of times we are uncomfortable with change. The MC is very different than Sharon, at least as far as we know, he has Super Kryptonite Blood. He is powerful in a way that he is only starting to realize and Sharon is reluctantly coming to grips with the fact that he is developing so much faster than she did, but does not really understand why yet. This does indicate a level of change to their characters.

It is clear that Laurie was already in love with her best friend. Yes on her 3rd drink of his blood she went totally bonkers, but honestly, we would not have been able to say with certainty that she was not already thralled sooner. Just not apeshit thralled. Similarly if I am correct that Sharon is very strongly moved by the blood she already carries in her veins from the MC, if she is not thralled completely, she is certainly very strongly inclined to agree with him on most things. She demonstrates this, and gives huge archon level responsibilities to win over the mayor, when she, a social vampire, failed to do so. I doubt that without drinking his blood and having such close proximity to him, that she would have basically said, ok, take the reins on the most important person we need on our side, that I can not simply break. The MC came up with a plan and we shall see how it works. Many of you have said, and I agree, Carmen needs to be brought in more fully, and soon. Gregor... if kept from the blood of Astrid for a long time, may snap back somewhat, but I think she broke his will. That may never come back. Right now, Gregor is the coin for Carmen's loyalty... If they kill or capture Astrid, and she gets a measure of revenge, a new hold better be in place, or she will be worm food.

I think, that we might have a different level of focus on what is an immediate concern. The "apparent" baddie in town was the feral Nos, which is dusted and gone. Only the MC, and his thrall Laurie may have feelings of foreboding, and it is not necessarily an identifiable one. Finding Merrick is important, but logically, it could be possible in Sharon's mind that Merrick is acting on Marcus' directive to locate and re-open the Nos hide out. She does not have the panic button info that the MC has. Another sign that Marcus realizes that the MC is more than he appears. Since she does not have that urgency, and the MC agreed not to share it, she is thinking that Merrick is dead already, or doing something else.... This should concern her on the latter and I think Frank heightens that for her. We will see next month I guess. In any case, I will let this lay where it is.

I think it is a metaphor rather than an actual link to crossing water. Vampires are supposed to have originated in the Persian/NE African area and migrated throughout the world, including by ship over water. So I am thinking this is metaphorical for death, drowning, the swallowing up of those he holds dear.

In this episode we learned, implicitly, that face in the water seems likely to be the sea mother goddess/creator of all evil monsters/ prime evil Tiamat that appears to be pitted against the still buried mother goddess of sex/power/war Inanna ... they are the badasse's on the block with the rest being manipulated minions that may have to 'save the world'. The story aims to be about far more than a few mundane sex trysts.

You never played Midnight Paradise for example I assume or Indecent desires after it turned into a sandbox. Those are games that are sex oriented while we were warned this was heavily story oriented and not per se sex game.

That's why there are other games with a greater emphasis on sex. Vampires and intercourse rarely go together. In general, vampires are not fans of penetration unless it is with teeth.

There are plenty of erotic themes in vampire stories, especially those where the bite is symbolic of the sexual act (especially in Bram Stoker's novel). Often, the appeal is the eroticism of a lover who gives pleasure, but isn't focused on his penis.

Not trolling. I've read Bram Stoker's original and the "St. Germaine" series by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, as well as a number of others like Saberhagen and early Rice. I'm not familiar with the more modern takes, but my description was accurate to that large body of work.

I would say, the worst example possible of how a sandbox should not be implemented, but lets keep this thread about Rebirth. If the promise at end of last update will be fulfilled the amount of sex scenes in game should double in next episode hopefully. Question is if it will be hot as such beyond just erotic or it will be more like the Miri scene. That mostly told us MC liked other things better. I hope it will be at least also hot.

The idea of sandbox is to give freedom for users to do what they want. You are mostly doing simple individual stories unrelated to each other.

But most great stories require event happenings in specific order. So you could put sandbox here but it would simply be a waste of time, as you would put a map while there was only one thing to do: again, events have specific order.

That why you would almost never see sandbox that are worth it from story point of view.

Agree. Sandbox removes any inmersion form the story, and making LI or events optional can be done without making a game sandbox, just put a choice that enabled that event/LI.

And the other excuse about repeating scenes can be done with a simple gallery.

There is no reason to make these kind of games sandbox.

But that is a bigger discussion than this game
