I played the latest but I am only playing one path, Laurie is not blood hungry , mostly what the pdf walkthrough kind of inspires,
and I gave Astrid to Calisto, before I had not but as I heard that is essentially pointless as she runs away....

I don't know what the "Laurie is not blood hungry" path is. Is that what it's called in the WT then? I usually don't use WTs (mods or PDFs), so I have no idea about any of that. Does it mean that you've not let her have any of your blood previously to keep her as far from addiction as possible? I don't know what that name is supposed to indicate.

I also didn't give Astrid to Callisto, so she's still in the cage in the basement, unless something changes in the next update.

Yeah, it's just you. It's not my fault that bland and dumb is really just the best description of the PC. Blame the dev, if you see this as an insult. They went with a blank PC, but gave the players no choices to roleplay any other sort of personality.

No, it's not just him. I remember that you insulted all players from Rebirth as kinda dumb and bland like you think the mc is acting. Why would you choose to take this quote personally? It's highly likely that the MC being bland and dumb is a deliberate choice by the dev, because they structured this game kind of RPG-esque. They probably want the players to be able to roleplay to an extent, but many people have a harder time self-inserting into characters with strong personalities.

Yes, Rebirth isn't my favourite game on this site, but I still play almost every update. I admit that it has many flaws in my opinion, but a game doesn't have to be perfect for me to enjoy it. I'd expect many people in this thread to be mature enough to understand this, because they like to bring up that this is an "adult" game rather than a porn game, whenever people whine about the porn content.
I think that discussing the flaws is an added benefit and something that's not even worth doing for many other games. Again, I'm sorry, if this offends you.

Nothing wrong with a discussion, and of course this game is far away from being "perfect". It has also in my opinion quite some flaws. But that was not the reason I answered. Your quoted sentence can be read as a big insult for the players. Seems you meant it not in that way as it looks for some. Ok. Also my response was a bit to much too. Sorry for that. Well, in the end it's the dev's game and how they want to tell it (they are not active here on F95zone anyway).

I feel like paper work bitch Sharon acts very differently than the Sharon that confronted Marcius to take the fall for the MC before going back to scheming. She always was one of the physically weaker vamps, but that never held her back before. So what if she lost her contacts. It's not like she originally started out with them, so why not make new ones like she did before?
In terms of her lack of knowledge, it's a little unfair to put that all on Sharon. Not even the Skalds could help her out with that and they're supposedly the people you'd go to for this. And isn't it funny how Sharon still made it out of the cave, while the much more powerful Markus is gone now?
Especially when it comes to planning and scheming it makes no sense how Sharon let's herself get sidelined by the MC, when she has proven herself to be good at that before. Meanwhile the MC has only proven himself to be bland and dumb, so players have an easier time inserting themselves into the story. Not sure how his claws are supposed to help him out with that.

It's like the MC is reaching super saiyan and even further beyond without training in the hyperbolic time chamber once. It's boring how vampires don't have to work for their powers and it would be even more boring to not disrupt this status quo like a good underdog story would do it.
It's interesting that Calisto is portrayed as lazy and desinterested, because there are things outside of her vamp powers that she would need to practice to get good at. If we think this further then Sharon has already a leg up on her, because Sharon is skilled enough to survive as a weaker vampire. Calisto never had the need to gain any sort of skill and she already made several mistakes like leaving the MC for dead and underestimating the cave elder.

She hasn't underestimated the cave elder, her sire is the cave elders sister.

Calisto doesn't need to gain skills, she's probably about the third most powerful vamp in the game only behind the 2 goddess tier vamps.

She's bored and disinterested because she's one of, if not the, oldest vamp alive and has seen it all even cave elder.

Leaving MC alive isn't exactly a mistake, it's not like he's ever going to overtake her. This isn't Karate Kid, the student doesn't overtake the master. All the abilities MC gets, Calisto already has. He's only developing abilities from her line and he won't get everything.

I really liked this update. I laughed with that ending with Laurie, and really enjoyed the scene with Sharon. By far, they are my favorite ones!

I agree with some of what you're saying but I think you misread this part of the post. What Hildegardt said was "like leaving the MC for dead". So my reading is they didn't mean it was a mistake to leave the MC alive but the opposite. That it was a mistake to embrace the MC and then leave him (a potentially powerful future ally) to fend for himself (a situation where if not for Sharon's initial help, he might not have survived).

Calisto knew what she was doing by abandoning the MC had she embraced him it would have signed his death warrant and would have been drained by some bottom feeding elder like the latest one that just blew in offering to help in exchange for the body. She would not want anyone that she wasn't able to control have that much power. With the MC she meters out his growth with the amount of loyalty he displays.

Calisto's plan is to shake up the aristocracy by turning it on it's head and supplanting the establishment... She witnesses the petty squabbling that these elders do almost nightly when she mediates at the temple so she figures it's time for a change.

I have been able to read many, many pages and just as many theories in this thread.
Very interesting explanations and points of view found their way into my apparently overtaxed brain...
(I have not read all pages though!).
After I spent meanwhile two years with this VN, I gave up to be able to understand the story, intrigues and backgrounds completely.
I just follow the story and try to make decisions, let's see where it takes me ;-)

However, one thing really disappointed me a lot:
After what felt like an eternity, endless flirting and ambiguously clear innuendos, it finally happened:
Sharon wants to "seduce" me! Yaaaaay! (Yes, I really like Sharon and also find her pretty and interesting).
Alright, I didn't really see anything, the dialogues were terribly cringe, no romance, devotion, passion at all.... Simply loveless!
When MC banged the female cop (supporting role) there was clearly more sex appeal than in this supposed climax of the story.
And from that perspective, it was really really bad.

Maybe someone can explain to me what that was supposed to represent?
Am I missing one or more posts from the DEVs?
Was this masterpiece not rewatched before release?
Not even a supporting role deserves such a loveless scene, and according to my feeling this one should really be something special....
