I just finished my last save. I have probably some hot / unpopular takes with my thoughts. But I will say despise all of that this is one of the games I do look forward to playing updates right away for.

It's a good update for Jenny fans but since im not a fan of her there so for me there was a bit to much lewd scenes with her for the save with her for my personal taste but that is me , I imagine most people don't mind. But it's also why I tend to play my catch them all save last.

Now for my main save. This is where im not using the pass im honestly very tempted to use it. I really like Fiona so far especially how the MC kind of already crosses some lines to begin with what is the big deal in crossing 1 more , especially for a gorgeous redhead. But her is also where my issue lies and why im kind of hesitant to do so.

While I have no personal experience with addicts , drugs , pain where you need pain pills etc. I must say I do not like how the MC is treating the drugs in this one. I feel he is being a bit dumb about , again this is due to a lack of experience ( from me) so maybe his pain makes him desperate enough it might make sense for him to be a bit dumb with the drugs.

The MC honestly doesn't even come across an addict to me but then here comes the scene with Fiona. I'm fine with the first time he does them with Fiona around that made sense to me. But if you stay the night with her you see they are both taking them for recreational use. Which okay can make sense with Fiona , as she seems like she might be someone that would partake once in awhile and not quite an addict ( yet as far as I know). But the MC that just doesn't feel like something he would do unless I missed something and he is indeed addicted to them.

Honestly that whole scenes kind of makes me want to not even be around Fiona as much as I like her and I like her alot. Because it feels like she wouldn't be a good person for the MC to be around and could potentially cause him to actually become an addict and using drugs more frequently. Cause I feel the MC wouldn't of used them for recreational use if Fiona wasn't around. Now if it was her idea or not I have no idea but I feel her being present is what influenced that scene and the MC's use of them when he wasn't in pain.

Now all this is only an issue for me because I don't feel the MC is a type of MC that would do such a thing otherwise wouldn't matter to me.

I've seen a couple of posts about the MC taking drugs and how they don't like it and wish he didn't do it, but that would change his story that we're beginning to get into. You're saying the MC doesn't seem like the type of person to make them decisions and all that, but that's what drugs do, as you say. Depending on the drugs, it'll turn someone into someone unrecognizable. They will literally steal from family and friends and do crazy shit just to get these drugs.

So I think the thing now is that we are experiencing the MC while he is literally getting addicted. He doesn't admit he has a problem. He doesn't acknowledge it. He only says it's for the pain but obviously we see that he's going down a bad road. And that's what they say about addicts. They will never get better until they admit that they actually have a problem and the MC is not at that point. He's just saying that he needs it to relax and calm down and it's for his knee that he says is not even that much in pain now. He's using it more to calm down and for a stress reliever.

And so he's gone from using it for pain and then now for stress and calm down and then to Fiona recreational use. See how it keeps getting worse? He even bought drugs off the street which was dumb, but this is how addiction works. You do dumb shit for drugs.

so it's more like in the beginning stages of an addiction you would say? Since I couldn't figure if he was addicted or not personally cause previous updates when he used them to me it didn't seem bad to me like he has his shit together. It was only this update it felt unlike him.

Ya you can see how it's getting worse. His doctor not warning to give him anymore because of this probably. It's a common problem getting addicted to pain medicine because of an injury or surgery or something

Well that makes my dislike over some stuff better tho still makes me unsure if I want to stay away from Fiona or not cause I like Fiona alot but kind of feel he should stay away from her when possible after that last scene.

plotline and the fact that we are given zero choices with it. Love the rest of the game, but it might be enough to get me to drop this. Just not my cup of tea. Have dealt with enough addicts in real life.

To me if anything she's helping him or he would maybe buy drugs on the street again or something. Because she's going to get them with or without her and she's just making it safer. But that's just me . And it looks like he's influencing her, kind of. She didn't have any pills and just took it with him because she's done them before and has obviously dealt with drugs

yeah me staying away from her bit is more of me having a skewed perception of her due to her experience and past working as a mule. Since there was no context with her taking them with him. I kind of just had it in my mind her being around the MC was making him want to use them recreationally , not because she was trying to get him to do them.

But rather he had no self control when they were hanging together and since he knows she has experience with it , probably does them from time to time as she is young and they were hanging out together. + Knows about it so it's fine to do it with her around. I kind of saw her as somewhat of a bad influence to be around despite her being also someone good for him to be around. Plus her saying they help her relax doesn't help any.

Now I would love it if Fiona tries to get him off of them before the addiction gets bad. Because she has experience and is a safe person to do them around I kind of see her presence enabling him to do them when he doesn't need them . That's kind of why I didn't like that scene while it didn't have context. As after the first pill I kind of saw her just being around enabling him to let go and do whatever with the drugs since he felt safe to do them then and there. Then again once his addiction gets bad that wouldn't matter any and she would be more of a help than anything.

So for me Fiona is a good and bad thing if That makes any sense. Again this is just my thought without personal experience.

The part about the doctor going dark that got me was the fact he has to go to that one specifically because they are linked to the team. From the brief amount of dialogue on the subject it made me wonder why he didn't contact the team owner since it was stated that they are on friendly terms. That way the MC would at least get answers and be able to plan accordingly. If the doctor wrote him off as an addict would it not be the teams responsibility to help him rehab from that too since it was during his recovery period?

See, I think you're thinking way too far ahead with talk about rehab and stuff. We just saw him have a real problem crash into the lockers and collapse from the bad street drugs. Who knows if he calms down with them like he says he's going to? I don't think you can call him an addict right now but he certainly on the way there. And I don't think he would contact the owner ecause it makes him look bad. You're literally asking for more drugs that the doctor won't give you because they're easy to get addicted to

I do not think it is too far ahead. Logically, if the team is providing treatment and it suddenly stops answers seem perfectly reasonable to look for. If there is still pain the issue still needs to be addressed be that more medication or even further operations to fix the issue. The pain could be in his head sure but so far no reason has been given for the medical team going no contact and it doesn't seem like the MC has any idea either from internal dialogue.

We have seen him talk to the doctor indirectly. He has had multiple calls with the Secretary there that suggested muscle relaxers and things like that and he says that they don't work. But we see that he's not in pain, right? He's literally using them for stress and I think the doctor is smart enough to know that. Because again people getting addicted to pain pills because of surgery is super common

I actually didn't catch that he wasn't in pain , i thought he was. This update was the first time I noticed he used them for stress related reasons. Tho could be cause I overlooked , read to much in to it or something why I never noticed he wasn't in main.

I'm not disagreeing on any point and understand where you are coming from I just think steps were skipped. While rehabing injuries keeping in contact with team staff is normal, at least I gather this much with my casual following of professional basketball. The lack of communication and further help from the organization is what gets me. MC may only think he is in pain I get that part. Mentally he just seems to act like he is in recovery still and the character is very logical in his actions so hence again I come back to wondering about the team.

But he has been in contact with the team , hasn't he? He's been out of basketball for like a year and he just had his follow-up appointment with the doctor where he was told that his career is over. Saying that if he tried to play another season he could damage his knee to the point of needing amputation. This is what we're told in the opening scene of the game.

And he takes a coaching job that was waiting for him because he already knew that was most likely going to be the case. That's it. What more is there to speak to the team about? He is basically retired now and cannot play. He has already been through rehab and surgery and everything to fix his knee. This is a personal problem of his. He simply wants more pills. And of course he's not going to talk to the team about that, right? It's not their problem anymore. I can understand if he was going to return at some point or something but he's 40 years old with a serious knee injury. He's done

Yeah, I think he's almost using the pain for his knee as an excuse. Maybe he does feel some pain or maybe it's psychological but it's certainly not to the point where he needs to be taking powerful pain meds everyday. He seems to get on just fine doing whatever he has to do. Going on vacation and doing this and that
