If its optional then there should be no problem. To each his own. The only problem would have been if you were forced down a certain path. Like othe devs who have been having issues with that exact situation. Plus if its optional and you still don't want to play the game, that's your decision. I personally wouldn't make them addicts but I have played games where you have drug people, so you can mess with them. Its not real and just because I did it in a game doesn't mean I do it in real life. Like I said before to the dev if he follows through with making certain things optional then he will pick up supporters.

Quite a few years ago I was working in a town where there was a a spate of prostitute murders carried out by a serial killer. He murdered 5 girls in the space of 3 months before he was caught. The common thread was that they were all where they were through drug use. They didn't start out that way. One really struck me as she came from a typical middle class family, had a good education and a decent career. She ended up as an addict hooker, strangled and left in a ditch. In fact, I think only one had a history of arrest. The youngest was 19, the oldest 29.
A remake of this game in Renpy is a good idea to me because it's a great game (just played the Chloe story through this night). But please, change it up a bit as the parent game is a touch too basic. Making it Sandbox and having to put in a bit more work to get the girls to conform seems like a good idea to me, and perhaps a somewhat more engaging way of making money (perhaps through the girls?).
Also, please make at least one of the slaves a mature rather than all of them be young women.
I'm not sure how much flack you're going to get for pretty much copying the game word for word and using the exact same renders, and if that's literally all you'regoing to do then I don't really see the point, but at the moment I'll see where this goes.

The planned path will be Harem. It will NOT be Brothel Management.
The Tags mentioned are of the Original Game, since there will be direct Story port with better English dialogues and conversation starter lines. (this is for people who couldn't run Tyrano).
You can notice the difference in the Demo already.
In fact, I'm using the Original Game's conversations as hints to elaborate the dialogues.
And the Other Mode/Path will be Harem (It is currently planned)
The Original Game's Dev is Russian.
When i was requesting him to make Ren'py version last year; He mentioned that he is quite comfortable with Tyrano for now.
So, i asked his permission - if i can do it as a Fan game, there was no response from him for a year.
I kept it on hold until now and was focusing on creating Mods.
I think he didn't actually understand what i said, so i translated to Russian and then he responded 2 months ago, saying to go ahead and do it.

I do desire to drop all the images and get it done as earlier as possible, but the dialogues are in dire need for improvement to go with the Story flow.
What i felt with the original was things happening in quick session, there was no story build up leading to an event.
Framing a progressive story is going take time. I can't say how soon i can catch up with the current content.
I can always throw in all the images and say it is done, but I intend of doing it the right way.

Like I said, I never played the original game. So I don't know what it's like there. I went to the OP and saw some images where Naomi is being, at least, shared with other guys. So you already gave me a red light.
I don't know if in the "original" this is also preventable, but from the comments of people who tried it, it seems that it wasn't, and the game followed a more "dark" path. Which is not my style of play.
However, if we can follow a path where we can train the girls for the exclusive use of the MC, without having to prostitute or share, that's perfect for me.
And I already downloaded and played, and it looks pretty good. If you follow this path, I will definitely be following this path.
I agree, but when a game/renders screams to be rescued. I feel the need for a Fan Game.

In the Original game, you cannot prevent "sharing" or "Dark/Fetish" path.
I believe it is from the fact on how the game events started initially.
Where; The MC is broke having invested in a Mansion, and he wants to share Girls to make money for his future.
I wanted to change that initial aspect of the story.
Hence you can notice in the Demo, the focus on encouraging Naomi to go as an escort is to make her socially comfortable.
If you ask me, will i be omitting the "Sharing" or "Dark" story line in Fan Game? The long answer is Yes and No.
Since, there will be a default mode to continue the story as it is, I can't change much of the story - only a subtle way with the Original.
But the other Path could lead into more Harem focus.
This is an idea and Tech demo to port it into Ren'py; also to see how people feel about the approach and different Paths.
I'm not concerned about how much this is going to reach out. People who wanted the Ren'py version of the Original will appreciate.

It is due to changes in Ren'py Display Engine.

This is what I would not want at all in a harem game. The Mc himself should be taking her out not whoring her out. If this is how its gonna play out I am out. Many people play harem tagged games to keep the girls to themselves. This is why I walked away from the other version of the game. Great renders sure but to the average harem player turning them into whores or drugging them up and other things I have seen mentioned would not happen.
What you wrote here is the oddest way to make someone socially comfortable that I have heard yet. I guess I learned something new....I am glad my daughters boyfriend did try this lol his own family would have hung him up by the balls I would not have even had to worry.
To make it clear; That line was a subtle way to put up with the Original Story. As it is part of the direct port into Ren'py with few dialogue changes to retain the original story line -aka- not the Harem Path/Route that is planned.
I believe you have not played the Demo yet. The dialogue variation in the Demo goes in sync with that line/approach for the Fantasy setup; the whole game is.

OP, thanks for doing something creative to better use the great renders from the original game. Whatever you do is a positive effort for all of us. Just ignore the critics who think you have to cater to them, personally.
Yes it will be compatible, i;ll be developing the code to go with older saves.
However, I will be providing Save files to start from specific stages - since the current progress is hybrid VN based.
If you notice in the Demo; the Quest system & stages are established to give breathing space for specific save states.
On event of major changes, "Patch" files could be introduced to make old saves compatible.
It's a lewd game, different ppl have different kinks. We all know drugs is bad, none of us actually want to do drugs or drug women into submission, still as a fantasy some ppl like it. Stop with the moral high ground thing when commenting on a lewd game developed to explore ppl's fetishes and fantasies.
