Another suggestion is to add a Lexcorp dairy products division/Milk Bar/Breast Milk Latte Coffee Bar. It would be a shame not to fully utilize all of those magnificient udders. It might be a way to utilize all of those clones that fans keep asking for.
An example of why I always like it when games have toggleable fetishes; I personally find the breast milk/lactation stuff a big turn off. And I know some people feel the same about some of the things I'm into; definitely not meaning to kink-shame. But if this were added, I would prefer for it to be optional.

R.E. the fetishes discussion.

Right now we are a LOOOONG WAYS away from adding fetish content. We have a lot of content that will need to be added first...

I'm working on wrapping a few things up before I share the new update. There will be a bit more Stargirl content in the next update, and I'm working on the initial Joker conversations atm. Thanks to xMendoza for sharing his code, and I'm now comparing it with the code drop that joepe shared.

I am curious what people’s opinions are of creating some additional variety in the way cell content can play out. In the end I want to get to the same place, compliant, broken little super sluts… but the path could be a bit more varied than we have in the base game.

This could mean events occurring in different orders and dialogues that are entirely different than what’s in the actual game. As well as some dialogues being missable based on choices you made. I don’t plan on locking out any events, just different paths.

I'm actually interested in the potential of new events focused on expansion of the story than new art scenes, since we have a lot of those but little of, let's say, Batman investigating Lex or Superman worried about Lois. I think that those could be genuine challenges to Luthor that he would have to use the girls to resolve it instead of him. Like finding scenarios where it makes sense for the girls to leave their respecrives teams and relationships only for them to realize to late what Lex was doing. I really hope that SU OG ending is actually Luthor winning and not ending in some sorta of villain defeated at the end of the episode.

Perhaps the options to see the scene as either, girl enjoying it and girl not enjoying it, the explanation in the game is that if a girl pleasure Luthor, they will get pleasure as well, I guess you could write a context with the device turned off for diversification.

That isn’t what I had in mind, but I like the idea of dialing down the effectiveness of the device much later into cell content, after you’ve convinced them to work of their own free will in the GS/MB. As a way to truly break them once and for all.

What I meant is a lot of the cell content is cookie cutter and lacks any sort of inspiration that is taken from the actual characters. SR7 had a formula, 3 dance, strip, 3 BJ’s , 3 sex, 3 anal, done. Sometimes spank is in there on a ome earlier girls when he was still trying, but at this point it’s resist until bj, then full on slut the rest of the time.

I’d like there to be a bit more wiggle in that formula, not to mention changing up the text between events far more significantly. Like, I’m working on Stargirl, who is canonically a virgin going into this game, something that’s kind of important to her character. I’d like to at least acknowledge it in some way and use things like that as tools to breaking them.

Give lex some options on what to do next at some point to add some variety.

Not currently. We haven't set up the Tala summoning routines yet, but essentially those would be menu driven anyways. As I remember, you need to find that piece of cloth at Star Labs(?) first, and there's a couple of other triggers.

Of course, thanks to the motherlode of code that you dumped on us, we can now figure out those triggers much more easily....

So if you want to tackle her cell scenes for now, by all means go for it! And you seem to be pretty familiar with Ren'Py coding, so you and I probably should compare notes via PM. We could do it here, but personally I like to do the really technical discussions via our PM group, as most people here just want content, not read long winded discussions of the nuances of this or that variable... PM incoming!

OK everyone!

So, thanks to joepe 's code share, I have a much better insight as to what is going on under the hood in SU Unity. There's a lot of files that I still need to sort through, but at this point, we should discuss the SU ReBuilt vs SU Re-Imagined thing again...

So, some quick backstory:

Around November-ish of 2022, xMendoza kicked off a new effort to recreate Something Unlimited in Ren'Py. This of course grabbed my attention, and I helped him out with a few of the initial builds.

In December of 2022, after a bit of discussion, well the short form is that xMendoza and I agreed that we wanted different things out of this effort, and we came to the decision that it was best if we tackle our different approaches separately.

So since then, xMendoza has been working on an approach that is a bit 'more faithful' to the original game, while I've been focusing on a framework where various ideas and approaches have been reworked and essentially 'Re-Imagined', while adding in a number of new ideas based on suggestions made here and that I've seen in the SU thread over the last year or so...

This is mainly a 'creative differences' situation, although xMendoza and I are still sharing notes with each other, and still discuss things via our PM group. I don't think that this is a bad thing by any means, and a number of code snippets are regularly shared between the two frameworks.

So this brings us to now. I personally don't mind that players now have a choice between the two approaches, although I can see how this can be a bit confusing. And xMendoza's goal is certainly a worthy one, and I imagine that the interpretation that I've been spearheading is too.

So, thanks to joepe's code dump yesterday, xMendoza now has a LOT of what he needs to flesh out his vision a lot more quickly. I'll elaborate on the differences between my approach vs. the 'scraped' SU Unity code in a sec, but the short form is that things like income generation, threat level, etc.. well the approaches are different in ReImagined than they are in SU Unity, as I was taking 'educated guesses' r.e. what I was seeing in SU Unity, and xMendoza has been focused on other things up until now.

Sooo, for example:

joepe 's code drop contains the 'income digression' numbers in SU Unity for girls working in the GS. I haven't found the 'differentiator code' for various positions yet (Dancing, Stripping, Eroplay, etc.) but it's a linear digression. I'm using a different, 'squared' approach that is based on the girl's fatigue level, and of course I've introduced a new fatigue system. The idea here that Fatigue is a 'mixed' stat of sorts that reflects customer boredom level a bit, but it's more about the fact that the girl isn't getting a good night's sleep, and hence her performance drops, until you just let the girl stay home and rest.

I'm also seeing a bit of information about the threat level situation, although that was essentially 'nerfed' as SR7 wasn't able to get it to work. My approach in ReImagined is a bit different than what it appears to have been in SU Unity, although as I said some of the code may have been removed. To be honest, my system is a bit more involved, and I'll continue to tweak my approach a bit, it's significantly different than the 'SU Unity' approach.

Finally, we now have 'hard numbers' r.e. capture chances in SU Unity, and on heists as well, but of course I've already come up with my own approach which I find a bit more interesting. The SU Unity system does NOT use the Villain stats, instead 'hard numbers' are assigned for each villain vs. each heroine. My approach incorporates the Villain stats into the capture percentage, adding a tiny bit to the capture chance based on 'weak point stats' that I discussed earlier in this thread.

My point here is that, I've set up something new, and want to continue to explore these new approaches.

In any case, I'd highly encourage xMendoza to adopt the 'SU Unity' formulas in his build going forward, and continue to focus on his 'faithful' attempt to create a Ren'Py version of SU. He now has the numbers he needs to 'faithfully' try to recreate what's going on in SU Unity, and I don't think that's a bad thing. We'll still share code with each other and help each other out I'm sure, but yeah it as been and will continue to be be two entirely different options for y'all to play around with.

This is not a bad thing. I'm sure a few people would prefer one option, where xMendoza and I work more closely with each other, but we simply have different visions. Different isn't bad, and I encourage people to support xMendoza's efforts as it's a worthy goal! I'm the more vocal type between the two of us, hence why this thread exists as I like to have ideas bounced around in a 'public forum' of sorts and explore those ideas, while xMendoza tends to like to hunker down and work things through, interpreting SU Unity as best he can.

This is a community effort of course. My focus in SU ReImagined has been on getting a working interface in place, with some new ideas incorporated into the backbone of ReImagined, while others focus on the 'more interesting' content like cell scenes and such, based on how comfortable they are with Ren'Py, Photoshop, etc. at this point in time. We do have some 'newbs' working on some of the content, and that's not a bad thing. There's a lot of content to recreate, plus a lot of new content that people want to see added, so it's an ongoing, long-term project.

But I'm sure that xMendoza would welcome some help with setting up cell scenes, etc. for ReBuilt too, and these efforts aren't mutually exclusive. So I encourage the contributor types to contribute to both projects if your time allows.

I've commented before about GS Games essentially being dismissive of this effort in public twitch streams. But of course a LOT of people would like to see a much more stable version of Something Unlimited that has new content. This is why we have two approaches going on atm.

xMendoza, as I understand from what he explained to me, feels that a more 'Faithful' recreation has a better chance of eventually convincing GS Games to maybe take the work done here and port SU Unity over to Ren'Py, as the SU/Fungus Frankenstein thing just isn't working right, and isn't modder friendly. My take on this is that, if GS Games were to re-create SU today, it'd look a LOT different from what they came up with in 2016.

So having two options to choose from is better than just one, should GS Games ever 'wake up and smell the coffee'.

I think that SR7 is wasting a LOT of time trying to slay bugs atm, when he could be drawing more artwork, and I'm not going to get into a discussion of SR7's time management as it relates to SU, other than to say that I strongly believe that the current SU Unity build is holding GS Games back at this point, as they are wasting a LOT of time trying to fix bugs that SR7 simply isn't able to fully grasp due to how their outdated version of Fungus does things...

If GS games ever wants to reach out to xMendoza, myself, and/or other members of the 'community demo team', we'd welcome it, but as I've said, it's been over four months now so I think they just want to keep doing their own thing. This could change, my point is don't get your hopes up. If it happens, YAY!!! Otherwise, this started as a community 'for free' unsanctioned effort and will continue to be.

That's about it. I just wanted to give y'all my personal take on the current situation, and hopefully shed some light on the two approaches to this community effort (ReBuilt vs. ReImagined) and a possible path moving forward.

joepe 's code drop yesterday was a godsend, and it already is very helpful to our efforts. Both approaches are already benefiting greatly from this, and will continue to do so, which is a good thing!

Quick note for those looking for an update today...

I've been busy handling a few things, and am in the middle of doing some playtesting, editing and adding a few things, so this week's update will probably be delayed a day or two...

However, as mentioned before, I've been working on implementing the Joker's chemicals heist, which appears to be working...

If more suggestions are welcome, how about some more exhibitionism stuff focusing around the 'daytime' when the girls aren't being actively mind controlled to kinda show how Lex's training is affecting them subconsciously. As they get more corrupt they do more extreme things, but think its normal because its all subconscious. Lex could get some options when you go to sleep each night:
  • Turning on the tv (or the existing Nightly Crimefighting Report) - Basically just shows scenes of random heroines fighting crime. They start off normal and then as their corruption rises they wear progressively sluttier randomly chosen costumes. After a certain point they could also stop wearing any underwear, so end up flashing the tv channel. ie. Supergirl flashing while mid kick or something.
  • Checking a random heroines social media - Contains spicier stuff, content is basically 'non hero' stuff from their civilian identity. Starts off innocent and as corruption increases they post more stuff thats basically OnlyFans content. Could also contain scenes related to specific pairings, like Supergirl and Batgirl after you complete their Leash Lesbian scenes, something like Batgirl is getting Supergirl off in public and Supergirl is trying to hide it.
  • Live leak videos on a pornsite - Heroines only really start showing up here after corruption gets high enough. Maybe certain villains could feature here initially. Basically contains scenes of the heroines fucking themselves/eachother/whoever in places they shouldn't. Could also contain pairings, like Artemis and Miss Martian or Supergirl and Batgirl, but more explicit than the social media.
This would be a lot of work, in both art and coding, so its just an idea for some potential future content. I think at least the first option with the sluttier costumes would be a cool addition.

these sound awesome, and exactly the kind of stuff that can be done by the fans and would never be attempted by SR7.

I always intended to create a framework that others could build upon, and that's now pretty much in place. I had always intended for girlpacks, etc. to be something that anyone could add to this, and there's enough 'building blocks' here to do exactly that.

I have other projects that I've needed to get back to, and my creative muse is telling me that it's time to get back to those.

So I'l be dropping one more update (0.26) in the next couple of days, after which I'm stepping away from this for a while.

xMendoza continues to do his own thing, and has been promoting his own effort in the SU Unity thread. ReImagined is NOT that, although some code has been shared between the two projects. I wish him the best of luck with his efforts.

I'll still piddle around with ReImagined as the whim strikes, as it's the game that I wanted to see, but it's no longer my main focus.

I'm still open to discussing this effort, but now it's up to others to decide what happens going forward.

That you need to step back is understandable but the question now is who picks up the reins if this is going to continue to move forward?

That you need to step back is understandable but the question now is who picks up the reins if this is going to continue to move forward?
I'll still be around, and will still piddle with this, but there are already others in the wings that have their own ideas... whether they continue to work on this or just go do their own thing is their call, not mine.

If anyone has questions r.e. the framework that I set up that wants to add girlpacks, etc.. my PM box is always open.

As I said, I'm plugging away at one last update for now right now, mainly getting the Lex layeredimage stuff set up. While I'm not going to attempt to do the 'facepalm' for all of the sprite variations, I did cobble together a facepalm for the prison outfit at least...

There's a few sets of sprites where SR7 simply didn't bother with a few of the arm variations, presumably because they weren't going to be used in the dialogues anyways (more likely because he just didn't want to have to make them for every sprite set), but as I wanted modders, etc. to have the option in their own attempts to (re)create the storytelling, yeah...

In any case, yeah stuff like this takes time to do, which is why the 0.26 update didn't drop yesterday...

I'm going to try to have at least the 'four main' costumes done for the next update (Suit, purple jumpsuit, green jumpsuit, orange jumpsuit) set up, and perhaps a couple of the costume sprites as well. Others can take it from there...

As I said, I already have set up Harley's (#1) and Mercy's conversation sprites and associated LayeredImage code (mainly for their fight scenes together), so others will have those available. Harley #2 will need to be tackled at some point, hopefully by someone other than me...

Because this is an F95Zone community project.

That being said, if others decide to discuss this project elsewhere going forward, that's up to them. Myself, I did the Discord thing once, never again.

I've been working on coding a 'capture' routine for at least one girl (Stargirl), so that others can see how I had intended for this to work.

Essentially, once Batgirl, Black Canary and Huntress are captured, Stargirl is added to Roulette's 'recruit list', and once you've talked to Roulette about her, she's 'moved' to Lex's 'recruit list' until you visit the Lexcorp Labs, at which point Lex tinkers with stuff and she's then added to the 'target list'. The associated dialogues are in Stargirl.rpy, under label Stargirl_recruit.

This is how I intended for each Heroine to be handled, i.e. all associated conversations would be in the associated label Girl_recruit, and all 'moves' between various 'list pools' handled there once she's been 'flagged' as an active potential target.

This still requires an 'initial handshake' which is currently being handled in script.rpy, but for 'new' girls I had intended for an 'initial recruit check' to be made when a new folder is added to /girls for a new girl. Essentially the girl would have been added to a 'pending girls' list, and then each night the pending girls list would be checked for conditionals to see if she should be 'flagged' at that point in time.

This would allow people to just 'handle' everything in that girl's .rpy file, and the person that created that girlpack could set whatever conditions they wanted, example:

nightly check for new pending girls, if girl in list...

I haven't tested this specific code example (so it may need a bit of fine tuning, I'm just sharing the idea here), but this is the general idea r.e. how to 'contain' recruit text inside of each girl's individual .rpy file, hence avoiding the need to touch talshop.rpy, script.rpy etc.

Again, this is to enable anyone to add any girl at any time, as long as they follow the 'rules of recruiting'. Also, the folder detection routine would need to be re-enabled (it's commented out in the code in script.rpy currently, 'cuz lint didn't like it, but I did test it previously. There's probably a cleaner way to do what I was trying to do, I coded that about 4-5 months ago and have learned a few things since then).


I'm also adding an example of 'first time this menu has been visited' text for the Devices interface in the Lexcorp Labs. This is essentially 'tutorial' text that explains how the Lexcon AI Mind Control Devices are handled, i.e. which screens you can purchase devices, and how to upgrade the devices.

I had intended to add 'click to upgrade device' functionality for each girl to the Assignments screen, but that'll have to wait for now. The Heroine Profiles screen has that functionality already.

Anyways, yeah just taking a bit of time to include examples of how things could work, at least as it relates to how I envisioned such things.
