'Queer' works are indeed, in general, of lower quality for various reasons. Taking the mental health side, to not just be queer (which is fine) but to make that your identity (never a good idea to be your sexuality), they are also mostly visual artists. Couple that with the community being an echo chamber, a say and hear no evil (criticism)...
and there is no platform for writers to improve nor reflect on themselves. Writers tend to copy good writers but what will be the case if the best queer / trans writers are still bad writers?
That's why simply passionate writer who like queer topics perform better as writers since their agenda is to write a story they like rather than venting about society, vilifying oppressors, glorifying their kin or preaching to the masses. The latter don't make for engaging stories to anyone but zealots.

Well, I went ahead and tried it, and I'm only one route down, but I've really enjoyed it. The voice acting was odd at first, but it got better. Mainly when you get away from the first two speaking characters: Kalei and Ramon. Some of it I think is actually really good: Noel and Rosita stand out.
The story is solid, and if you're familiar with biblical hierarchies, plus the positives/negatives of Heaven vs. Hell, you'll have a good grasp of what's happening. I finished Rosita's first, and hers showed some good development in character and in overarching story, though it's not super long, as you're meant to get through multiple routes.
If you can live with no sex scenes and like a good VN story about the afterlife, I think you'll like this, as long as you're ok with playing through more than once. You'll have outstanding questions if you just go through one route.
EDIT: Meant to add that my first route took about 90 minutes. So again, not long.

No, yeah, look, I see the walkthrough, I'm on the walkthrough, I just don't want to replay this game four times just to play the route I actually want. I was looking for both a shortcut, and a way to not spoil the game for me; I find it a spoiler when I have to go through the same story over and over again, just to unlock the best route, plus its boring and frustrating as I suffer from (possibly a common human condition) where when I'm skipping through stuff, I forget where I'm at and click the wrong thing some times; half in poor attention skills, half in possible dyslexia.
But, yah, if no one toss me a save before I feel like coming back to this game, I'll likely just speed through and hope the game isn't too long and boring as I click the right text several gillion times just to reach a route that shouldn't be locked in the first place, it's just frustrating, and I had a few homies help me out with things like this, before.
