Has this game changed much since it was uploaded here in 2022? I played through it then but I see that it is now the release version so was looking to give it another go.
Huge story DLC was added and Dahl scene. Plus art change and probably balance changes. This is all as far as I know.

There's a new Dahl scene? Beyond the original one where he forcibly kisses Celine?

To answer the previous guy's question - any balance changes were extremely minor. More just bug removals. Julia infinite shield stacking was fixed, so Knight's not quite as good anymore.

Besides that almost nothing different, a couple of the scroll abilities were tweaked a bit.

The big "dlc" becomes available after you beat the main game. It is a "what if" scenario that takes place following the bad ending. Gameplay in the dlc is exactly the same tho EXCEPT

The one major change gameplay-wise would be the addition of a lot (like 7-10 or so) "active" abilities that you use during battle which are chosen among your 10 "scrolls". Thing is, I didn't even touch them in the main game because I hate needing to do something like that when I want to play auto chess.

BUT the main difference or the "dlc" campaign is that those active abilities get majorly buffed. So you pretty much have to use them

Oh also endless mode got harder difficulty levels and stuff up to 5. It's actually really hard on the top difficulty level and you can't get past 20 waves or so without going for super OP specific buolds

I saw people on Steam saying a lot of the previously hand drawn art was replaced with AI. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is true?

Its true. Here is the comparison with main menu art. But as far as I know only character sprites and main menu art were replaced. All old CGs are the same, but new ones (DLC) are AI assisted, yeah.

Wut, even if that's true you can't notice it at all it would just have been AI assisted editing, no actual AI created art

Dumb question I'm sure but where is the endless mode, how do you play it? I've played all 3 modes: Story, Nightmare Abyss, Vessel of the Succubus and all of them several levels in except for the story mode. They all always end on day 40. :(

Also is there any way to make a magic build? Every spell build was just ridiculously weak while requiring insane effort & timing (something that also means you need to disable 2x speed which is just a huge user experience problem too). Even on Succubus mode with the magic & CD buffs. The only spell that's actually good afaik is Mana Shield for cutting down 50% of the time the troops can cast their next special.

Shit I'm not sure, maybe it has something to do with the difficulty setting?

I remember doing mage builds a long time ago before the updates, but this time I couldn't make it through the early game with them. Angel does a shit ton of DPS once your comp is locked in, but before that it's like she barely tickles them.

But ya of the old builds I did, after the update I feel like mage was the hardest to survive with

Oh sorry I meant magic as in the church abilities you use yourself.

Caster builds tho (as in where your chess pieces or deployable troops are casters) have been the best for me so far! The perk that gives casters extra dmg in the start after 15 low-gold matches, plus the "5 casters" bonus, plus Mana Shield just does such an ungodly amount of dmg early that I've yet to find anything as strong.

Ofc... I've only played up to difficulty 4 or so. Since afaik there is no endless mode and I can't get past day 40, I can't really push far enough for the lust + archers thing to come off on top I guess?

But thanks!

Ohh gotcha. I never tried that because I absolutely hate micro in these types of games. That's surprising tho that even on Succubus campaign it didn't work out

"Resist the succubus: The end of the female Knight"

Since a succubus only affects male counterparts with their magical powers, it should be rather easy to "resist" the succubus for the female protagonist , right?
This Succubus seems to prefer women
