So you might have to download all 18gb in one go.

Yes, if you are extracting a multi-part archive and it runs for a while then stops, the part that causes the problem (part 2 in your case) is a corrupted DL and needs to be re-DLed.Maybe I got the terminology wrong, but it kept saying something about an issue with part 2.
