AFAIK i believe DEV has talked about him and his wife making this game together while their kids are off in college, and has only mostly taken breaks from development when kids return to the nest for the holidays/summer vacation.

From what i understood from DEV post they should be relatively soon(when kids get finish college in the next few years) go in to full blown empty nest syndrome, and have a lot of free time.

yeah I'm fine with that heck i wouldn't mind if the update takes a year plus family comes first.

i was just stating the point, that DEV does have ADULT children, so should have a considerable portion of free time compared to say, if DEV had a house full of toddler, pre-teens, or teenagers.

only reason i think DEV stops when children are visiting are because
making the game together make he and the missus frisky and frequent "breaks" are a necessary part of the development process lol

They’re not adult children. Recently, dev was busy making their yearbook, and in the discussion with some foreigners in whose culture such yearbooks don’t exist, it was explained that the twins are in elementary school

Dev is taking care of the kids more during vacation times, since he's a stay-at-home-dad. So during regular days he has some time to work on the game, but on vacation times he is busy taking care of the kids.
He just announced that the next update (after the one we are waiting for) won't be happening for a while since he'll be busy with the family.
