r3.4 Progress Report #8 - Dec 10 @ 09:30 UTC (Task List)
Slicing and image implementation completed! Wut. Wut! That means I'm all set to go right into authoring (actually attaching the images to the scene) scene 3 tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I can keep the pace and finish off all remaining scenes (it is another 1000ish lines of dialog, every 100 lines is about 2hrs of work on average... so long day tomorrow). I know I have some additional edits I still need to make (mostly "cum in" poses), but I think those shouldn't be too bad, (I can't look at any more art tonight, I've literally been cutting up and sorting images for the past 8hrs).
As of this post,
Dec 12th is still looking good, but I doubt it will be sooner than that. I expect all of tomorrow to be spent putting scenes together, then the following day to be QC, and build, and test, and pull my hair out when something that used to work doesn't, the build again, then re-re-test (you get the idea...). So two days at least if nothing goes horribly wrong.
From the outside it might seem as though I've wasted a lot of time with this slicing stuff (and yes, the first day I hadn't quiet figured out the flow, so I lost a lot of time to that), but images are a pretty big part of the normal process, and while the previous method was a bit more straightforward, it's hard to say if it was actually faster. In addition to file size savings there are other advantages when using the images, that were just very cumbersome to do with the old method. I'll most likely keep using it moving forward.
Anyhow... sleep, then back at it in like 5 or 6 hours...
