Thanks for the correction! I did say it was a first dialog pass, I'm sure lots of other typos have snuck their way in! But that's one less to slip through later.

Just curious but what is the original dialogue on the unity version? The scene seems to be a big deal since it will be Beth's first creampie.

Love what you're doing for this game man. Really improving what is already great content. I just had a quick question/request. Is it possible to allow us to change what Summer calls Morty and vice versa like what you did for Beth? The "mommy" and "bro" stuff sorta ruins it for me since they don't really talk like that in the show. Just a personal preference that I wonder if others might agree.

I assume you mean the spoiler text in this post above? Here is the original line that is being replaced: m "I-inside?" Yep, just one line is being turned into (up to) 13 new lines.
This has sort of been asked for before, to tone down Morty's family wording. The short answer is not for this patch, the longer answer is... maybe, but probably not in the way you're hoping for. I do agree I have probably overused family names a fair bit (over compensating for a drastic lack of it in the original) to the point where it can become distracting. The whole game most likely needs a full dialog pass (to correct more than just that issue), but that takes a LOT of time for something most people will never notice, so I really have to be in a certain mood to want to do it.
A toggle for names is a little more complicated (and even more time consuming to go put in (read, unlikely to spend time on it)) as it isn't just a simple swap. For example there are 1593 occurrence of "Mom" found across the game. That's a lot of place to change, and each one needs to be evaluated and done by hand (not just slap a search and replace on it).
Looking at how Morticia is handled is most likely how I would go about it (as a toggle). Her "names" (in some places) use a variable construction, so that if you want her to act like a sister, Morty (and other characters) will sometimes use family names over her name. The issue is that her name become the swap. So instead of seeing "sis" or "sister" or the many other variations, it's just "Morticia" over and over, which can be just as off-putting.
This is an issue a lot of game that have incest patches struggle with, as they often just hard swap names where it doesn't always make sense. And working to make dialog feel natural with multiple versions is a tricky (and time consuming) thing to do.
Lastly, I like it. Yeah, it's overused and a little tacky in some places, I certainly agree, but it's a relatively big kink for me and I enjoy it (or I wouldn't have included it to begin with).
So, that isn't a no. I know it's a bit of an issue, but it isn't high up my priority list to change at the moment, sorry.
While incest in general isn't really a kink for me personally,
however i tend to play the games how they were originally intended by the developer
(before they had to change it because of Patreon rules...)
As for me it really breaks a game when chars in a vn suddenly goes i.e.
"No we can't do this, we are roommates" ....
or another "favorite" one "what if our landlady catches us?"
like your landlady would have anything to say if you had sex with your roommate in any way.
unless you rented room in a heavy religious house that is xD
It just breaks the immersion, as well as makes the writing done by the developer sound stupid,
even though the story in general is very well made.

I completely agree. Other than adding a sandbox, taking out incest or adding a lazy patch (search and replace all) is the fastest way for me to lose interest in a game. Incest isn't a requirement for me to play something (that's why I love f95 I get to try so many games I otherwise wouldn't touch (and even buy/support a few of them)), but changing it without adjusting the rest of the story to match just makes me lose interest in a game, as it usually doesn't make any logical sense and completely ruins the immersion (as you said above).
And lazy conversions from "incest" to "not-related" just drive me crazy. If a dev can't tell the story they want, subbing in "landlady" is just, well, fucking lazy. Tell a different story! Commit fully to the change in subject, or just don't post on Pateron. I understand the desire to circumvent paterons stupid rules and stay on the platform (there is whole rant there I'll leave out because this post is already too long), but that isn't an excuse for shoddy craftsmanship.
For this game, the incest aspect will never be taken out. I don't have to deal with Paterons backwards guidelines (just f95s rules and I don't see any conflict there). As this is a game based on an existing IP, making Beth a "landlady" is just, well, it honestly makes me mad even typing that. But, as I said, I do think it can be toned down a bit, or at the very least cleaned up some more, mostly to make it feel less tacky. There is always room to improve dialog and narrative structure.
Again though, I understand incest isn't for everyone. That's the world, not everyone will like everything. Even more true in porn.
I like to think of it like porn pizza. Different toping for different people. Some toppings people are indifferent to, like ham. Other toppings people will lose their shit over, like pineapple. I tend to think of incest a bit like pineapple, it hurts when you stick you dick in it... wait, no. Some people can tolerate it, others swear by it and won't have pizza without it, and still others will poop on everyone's pizza just because it's something they don't like. And rather than finding a pizza with different toppings, they will come in to complain about everyone's topping choices instead of getting something else *cough*ntr*cough*.
(NTR would be like what, very spicy peppers...? I wonder if I could make like a whole tag list in pizza toppings... Sorry! Slowly slipping into madness as I take a momentary break between implementing new scenes... What the hell was I rambling about again?)
Right, incest pizza. Some devs seem to think it's okay to lazily sub in anchovies instead of pineapple and think it will taste the same, making even less people happy. But I plan to stick with pineapple all the way. I just might have use too much while making my version of this pizza. So, at some point I may take some off, to make it more palatable to people who don't enjoy pineapple quiet as much.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go order an anchovy pineapple pizza...
Does patreon consider rick and morty to be incest because from what I understand they are not blood related.

I also noticed in the latest update, Beth doesn't call Morty "sweetie", which disappoints me, as I have mine set to "my little Mother fucker" instead (in your Renpy version), which always makes me smile when she says it. I also like when Beth talks about her "xx year old son". Considering this is all about the Smith family (and an interdimensional Morty), I think it's a bit silly for people to complain about "incest", but each to their own, I suppose.
So, I vote keep doing what you're doing Night Mirror. Your version is (to quote Tina Turner) simply the best.

The way the Unity game is written is to make it seem like they are not really related, as he is from a different universe. I've fixed that

Inching closer! About halfway through my first pass QC of scenes 4, 5 (in the middle~ish of this scene right now, typing this between renpy reloads), and 6. Once that is done, I'll do my general test of functionality (to make sure I didn't break replay buttons or something), then onto my final pass. In the final pass I'll export all the dialog (for the new scenes) and turn it into audio so I can listen for mistakes/typos/poor grammer/etc.
Once all that is done, it's on to final assembly and upload. The patch will go up first (about 136mb), and I'll do a new post here when it finishes uploading. I still can't quiet estimate the time into hours/mins left, the current steps are dependent upon what I find/want to change, but still looking hot for today!

Hey man, I won't pretend like I'm not aching for the release, because after 2 months I most certainly am! Especially since my saves always glitch out with the original version of the game.
However, you are the only one undertaking such an ambitious endeavor and I certainly couldn't do a better job, so take your time. If giving yourself a day for QC is what you've got to do, then that is that as far as I am concerned.
Keep up the good work, I look forward to playing it on Friday!
